Backing up, Kyson calls down the goddess' blessing as Silvio and Kayle try futilely to attract the hydra's attention.
Instead, it's focus switches to Zstelian and Sekathral as they begin inflicting grevious wounds on it -- Zstelian's first dagger misses, but the second slices cleanly through one of its necks. The elf leaps onto the creature's neck, flipping past one of the outstretched head, which snaps on him, and drives his blade into a neck. The cut's not deep enough to cut cleanly through, however.
Khazmia's ray of acid splashes into the water harmlessly.
The creature swims closer to the boat, heads snapping at its various harriers. It manages to hit Zstelian 7 hp and Sekathral 5 hp as well as the sailor in the water, but Kayle's magical protection prevents its teeth from closing on the falcon.

Silvio's taunts seem to get the creature's attention and it turns toward the Chelaxian on the shore even as Zstelian severs two more heads. Though Kayle can't get through the creature's tough hide, Sekathral manages to take out another head.
Khaz's blast of acid misses, but Kyson explodes a ball of fire around it, catching the elven pirate in its midst as well. Sorry, Seka, need a save.

Zstelian's dagger takes another head off the beast this hydra apparently has really slender necks! as it stretches up to bite at Kayle, who continues to flap around it.
Sekathral's blade takes another, leaving it with only one remaining. Khazmia's blade misses again and it mostly avoids Kyson's blast of fire, though it does seem to cauterize the wounds.
Silvio's blade is turned by the creature's tough hide as it bites at him, jaws sinking into the Chelaxian's shoulder, though he manages to twist at the last moment so it more grazes the skin than tearing at any muscle. 4 hp

Kyson tosses a couple more balls of fire at the hydra, trying to ensure that it's dead-dead and not coming back.
"Is it dead? What about the guys that fell overboard? Silvio?!!? What about them?!? KHAZ!! C'mere!"
Kyson will hurriedly cast Water Walk, dividing the time between him and Khaz (and Seka if he wants it). "We have to find the sailors that fell over! Quick!"
Kyson gets overboard and begins to try to find the sailors that were bitten earlier.

Zstelian, it's a pool at the base of a 200-foot-waterfall that flows directly into the ocean. If you're several necks with it, they're not going to be stuck in the body. It feels fair to me, but if everyone thinks I'm being harsh, I can rethink it. If you want to dive in (or have Seka do it) and search the bottom of the floor, I'll give it a 75 percent change of recovery.
One of the sailors appears to have died, his body swept out to sea. You're able to save the other though, who thanks you repeatedly for the rescue and healing.
Seka, below the surface you find a grim scene -- dozens of sunken ships of all sizes rot in the mud and seaweed.
You think it will take some time to search them all.

I certainly don’t mind having to go looking for them. Zstelian has a good perception check and he could always ask some fish or something. I just don’t like the idea of thrown weapons disappearing into the void. Thrown weapons already have it rough enough compared to archery. =/

Eventually, you get back on the boat and both ships refill their water and resume their journey.
The next six days pass uneventfully before you arrive late in the day at a village called Renkrue, in the Isles of Axuxal. The ships arrive in the harbor, prompting villagers in rough tribal wear to hurry to the shore. Behind them, two wooden buildings rise above a collection of straw and mud huts.
Several peaceful Olman tribes live in the Isles of Axuxal. Renkrue, the easternmost village in the isles, is also the most advanced.
An ambitious priest of Erastil who had visions of converting the island to his faith even settled there, building the two wooden structures before dying shortly afterward.

Amella indicates they do trade, which is why they're stopping here. They'll be spending the night as they trade and unload goods and reload the ships with food.
The other passengers on the ship seem excited to get off the Sea Wyvern and spend some time stretching their legs on shore after weeks at sea. Skald nods as he passes you, his bow slung to his back, the rest of your shipmates taking a bit more time to gather their things.
Tavey, the cabin boy, looks mournfully out to shore as he watches others departing.

"Maybe we should go ashore, sell some things. Maybe they have the inks I need to do more scribings. I like scribings!" Kyson still looks for the chance to use his magic Quill, but being stuck on a boat without access to lots of ink has made it difficult to enjoy.
