Tha knows Us's curses come out all literalsome, 'n' that there's the most horny-like animal Us's seen.

I'll finish off my tweaks when I get home tonight, do a quick backstory writeup and will be good to go.
Saturday I'll be unable to post for most of the day, since I'll be traveling to, attending, then returning from the wedding. Sunday's wedding is relatively close to my place and not until early afternoon so I'll check in on the thread in the morning.

DM Mothman |

Alright, I think I’m pretty much ready to start the game. I’ll kick off when I have enough time to post, possibly later this afternoon.
I have written a general introduction, then specific introductions for each character. I hope you don’t mind, I have made some minor assumptions about certain character’s activities and state of mind in order to kick things off. I will need to introduce Flash’s character later.
From this point I would request that no one make any major changes to their character (such as class, race, gender, name etc.). By the time you make the first dice roll in the game, I would like everything to be locked down – any other changes past that (unless it’s something I’ve asked you to correct) will require re-training!

Tinkergoth |

Okay, I've tweaked and locked Xargin in. Only changes were that I added a trait (resilient, from time spent travelling on his own and fending for himself) and a drawback (Burned), and I've dropped two points of Wisdom and taken an extra point in Dexterity (fits with his background of being somewhat unstable).

Mothman, I am away tomorrow and Saturday attending a funeral. If you guys begin, I am happy for Dementrius to run Haelynn on my behalf (if you both don't mind...)
Yeah, I can run Haelynn for the next couple of days. Mothy, do I make a new alias ("Yumiko's ugly sister") or just post as Yumiko/Haelynn?

I suppose Charisma 8 comes with its own grotesque beauty! :D

So have we finalised how the characters know each other?
The connections that have so far been confirmed, proposed, inferred or are likely are:
Haelynn and Yumiko are sisters, and board at Koya’s house (who has also taught them).
Haelynn is known at the Sandpoint Cathedral, and shares a faith with Ameiko.
Yumiko does not play well with others.
Marc and Haelynn know each other (at least by sight and name).
Marc is friends with Koya.
Grendel is probably known (by reputation) to any longtime resident of Sandpoint.
Xargin has spent much of his life absent from Sandpoint, but has recently returned. It is probably reasonably well known that he is Ameiko’s brother (though the family resemblance is probably not strong).
Tannithil may be known by sight to those who know Ameiko – people probably assume he is her bodyguard, or some family retainer. It can be assumed that he rarely comes into town and interacts little with Ameiko’s other friends.
Jasminder – we will need to see!
I modified my intended beginning to the story to allow for characters to not necessarily know each other that well, but hopefully have common reason to work together.

I'll make the build (hopefully tonight) and get ready to post.
Got it, just replied!

I'll have to take a proper look at Xargin's gear tomorrow. Most likely what I'll be buying is just the Bard's kit minus a few things I don't need (torches etc).
I'll be at work from 7 AM tomorrow, should be home early afternoon and will check in, then I'm at the movies. Thursday I probably can't check in until after my radio show, should be home by 8 PM.

Just a reminder to everyone to try to resist looking at spoilers not meant for your character; think of me posting a spoiler to a particular character (or vice versa) as a secret note passed between GM and player at the game table. I'd prefer that the player pass on the information in character (or even just say 'I'll tell everyone what I just learnt, so look at my spoiler') if they choose too ... and potentially put their own spin on things.
Sometimes I'll post spoilers with a particular skill check DC set against them; again, I'd ask people to refrain from looking at the spoiler if you don't succeed at the check

Reel Time. It's a movie show on 2XX, a Canberra community station.

Sorry guys, I got held up at work and had to go straight to the movies. Not sure if I'll be able to get on tonight afterwards, I have some stuff that has to be done tonight. For now just assume that I'm following along, and that I've detoured to buy the gear I need before we leave town. I'll fix it all up soon as I have time at home.

Welcome aboard Flash.
Guys, Flash has been a little held up (the dreaded 'Real Life') with finishing off his character, I have encouraged him to post in the game now or he is likely to miss the boat - you guys are clipping along at a good pace (for pbp).
I understand Flash should have Jasminder all stated up soon.
Flash, when your character 'meets' the others at the Rusty Dragon, could you please post a brief description of her?

I'm equipped and ready, but I'd forgotten how restrictive gear weight limits are in this game. I only have half of the standard gear for a bard, leather armour, a bow and a rapier, but I'm 25lbs into a medium load already, so I get hit with -3 armour check penalties.
Anyone else had issues with weight limits?

When I play typically low strength characters such as wizards etc. I tend to go very light on equipment - I leave ropes and lantern and lamp oil, even tents and such for the fighters and other higher strength characters to carry about. Travel light. Bards are a bit tough, 'cos you probably have the strength score of the typical wizard, but have more weapons and armour and stuff to carry about.

I'm going to be offline for most of the day, visiting some family and helping a friend with an episode of his podcast. This episode is apparently about party cohesion and its importance for certain types of games. I suggested heartbreaker RPGs since they're a surprisingly interesting topic, but that'll have to wait.
On another topic, I've whittled Xargin's gear down to almost light burden levels... anyone with high strength and a bit of spare carry limit want to carry his waterskin and mess kit? :P
First magic item on the list to obtain later... muleback cords...

Hey guys,
We are becoming super-busy at work. I'll still post during the evenings most likely but it's also unlikely I'll post every day. Apologies for the delay.
I'll post as I can, do bear with me - From November to Xmas in the toy industry is brutal and it only eases around very late December/Early Jan.
Cheers,

If anyone's interested, the podcast I did yesterday has been posted as well: Professor Jimbles Dice Bag - Party Cohesion discussion
It got a bit rambly at times, and we had a guy who hadn't been on before that talked over the top of people a few times, so I'm not sure if it'll be particularly clear at some points.
Also, the previous episode I was on (I'm only on it rarely), wherein we discuss characters we've always wanted to play and never got to. Includes discussion of the character I created for a Vampire: The Requiem game that creeped the GM out so badly the game was cancelled (it was actually due to a combination of my character and another one, who is also discussed on the show).
Professor Jimbles Dice Bag - White Whale Characters
Personally I think the character episode was a better one, just because we all had more time to prepare.
Fair warning, there's a fair bit of swearing in most epsodes.
