All of these are options! Setting up shop will take a local or diplo check and a craft or profession check.

M Halfling

Miro will try chatting up some folks and enchanting them with his flatulence cures.

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
Craft-Alchemy: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (19) + 16 = 35

People still speak in hushed, awed tones about Miro's Miracle Tonic that has made Westcrown's air free of the taint of farts. Only sweet roses drift on the breezes.

Bah those monks wouldnt know what to do with a stout fellow like yourself anyhow Exxor, As for the hellknights let not worry about them until they come knocking on our doorsteps. Id say we hunt a few more shadowbeasts down, spread those good deeds about for a bit. Lets see what we can dig up on these sisters as well.

He began doing all he could to not incite a fight. After all it seemed that everyone seemed to think that was his preferred method of action. He rather abhored the idea of painting the grown red any more than he had too. He just didnt mind rolling up his sleeves and getting to it if he must.

Shop setting up Diplo roll

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26

Off to market then, and let us see if we cannot learn more of the Sisters and make some friends!

Unnamed

You are able to fine a run down, but sturdy, and mostly clean. Nothing in it though. Or you could try to purchase an existing one, though that will be more expensive.

Want to pursue one, or both?

Male Half-elf Expert 8 / HP:39|40 / AC:20 T:14 FF:16 / F+3 R+9 W+8 / Init +8 / CMB+4 CMD 17 /

I am thinking that with limited funds, lets start with a place. We can "build" the business. But i will defer to group planning.

M Halfling

Run down and sturdy

M Halfling

So how long will we be trying to corner the turnip market? Seems a lot of work to just try to scout out the monks.

Unnamed

you can get one for the low low price of 500 gold. Nothing in it of course

Male Half-elf Expert 8 / HP:39|40 / AC:20 T:14 FF:16 / F+3 R+9 W+8 / Init +8 / CMB+4 CMD 17 /

Exxor could cover the space, but what type of business would be profitable - and suited to our other needs - we still need to "stock" and run the business.

Are guild memberships/dues a concern?
Exxor has Profession Merchant, so we should be able to figure out a business.

Once we figure out what type of business, we can get a cost for startup.

Unnamed

local check to figure out guilds etc

M Halfling

I have 50 gold and that is about it.

Know-Local: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

Male Half-elf Expert 8 / HP:39|40 / AC:20 T:14 FF:16 / F+3 R+9 W+8 / Init +8 / CMB+4 CMD 17 /

If you allow Profession-Merchant for the guilds...

Prof Merchant: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28

Unnamed

between the two of you, you know that you wont need to be part of a guild as long as ou are small. Start becoming successful, well that will be a different story

M Halfling

Well we are mighty adventurers so we can stomp em if they try anything. *cracks knuckles*

"I think of this as our cover while the actual business is done behind closed doors. We can limit our hours to just one or two marketdays." Hippa says this with a cheery pragmatism.
"We can sell high quality rags, autographed by Tram with certificates of authenticity. Perhaps offload some excess bric-a-brac acquired during our adventures. If we get another ShadowBeast, have it mounted and charge viewing admission. I can certainly provide a small shelf of excess potions, medicinal herbs, minor curatives for hangovers and hangnails. But mostly, serve as a front for our needs and justify visits by various persons as opposed to knocking on front doors of violent women with swords. Profit would be nice but not the driving factor."

M Halfling

I can whip up various alchemy items Like Miro's Tummy Soother. Which is really an anti-fart drink.

Male Half-elf Expert 8 / HP:39|40 / AC:20 T:14 FF:16 / F+3 R+9 W+8 / Init +8 / CMB+4 CMD 17 /

I suggest we call it Lazardod's Oddities. Although the more profitable it is, the more we can use the profits to support our primary business. Keeping Tram in unbloodied shirts isn't cheap!

M Halfling

Buying in bulk sounds good. Maybe make cheap tear-away shirts.

Desiring to move forward...
For her first week,
Hippa puts forth a daily effort to provide
1) one potion of Mage Armor until all have one,
2) One tanglefoot bag until all have one, Audi can assist or vice versa
3) An invite to explore and map a section of the Sewers.

If she catches rumor of another shadowbeast, She'd like to arrange a hunt.

Will we return the bust? We probably should. Hippa will accompany the return to the gladiator venue.

She looks into making a version of Miro's Tummy smoothers but instead finds a way to make farts more noxious...

Unnamed

Bust was returned.

Always shadow beasts out at night. Wanna go hunt one?

M Halfling

Miro works on.
1.Making Tummy Smoothers
2.Various minor cures for maladies
3.Will help map sewer

Alchemy roll: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (3) + 16 = 19

Shadowbeast hunt? Sure, why not?

Male Half-elf Expert 8 / HP:39|40 / AC:20 T:14 FF:16 / F+3 R+9 W+8 / Init +8 / CMB+4 CMD 17 /

Exxor will go with the group that returns the bust, sewer mapping and on the shadowbeast hunt when not working on the store.

M Halfling

So do we just go around with bells on at night?

Male Half-elf Expert 8 / HP:39|40 / AC:20 T:14 FF:16 / F+3 R+9 W+8 / Init +8 / CMB+4 CMD 17 /

Shadowbeasts like the taste of halfling....or is that dragons,...maybe both. Anyway, wandering around at night should be sufficient, shouldn't it?

M Halfling

Well it wouldn't be the first time a halfling in Cheliax has been used as bait. Miro says with utter seriousness. We do have some fireworks we can set off and a noisy devil head to draw attention.

Male Half-elf Expert 8 / HP:39|40 / AC:20 T:14 FF:16 / F+3 R+9 W+8 / Init +8 / CMB+4 CMD 17 /

We want to draw out a shadowbeast not everything lurking in the darkness!

M Halfling

Cover ourselves in BBQ sauce?

Male Half-elf Expert 8 / HP:39|40 / AC:20 T:14 FF:16 / F+3 R+9 W+8 / Init +8 / CMB+4 CMD 17 /

Again, what things that lurk in dark shadows don't love halfling covered in BBQ sauce. We need to be a touch more systematic. Lets wander about, maybe they are attracted to noise, or lights, or our scent... once we figure out what attracts them we can bait them. Lets just start with light. A few torches, we are the Torchbears after all! First we be quiet, if that doesn't work "noisy"...not screaming head noisy, just normal person loud. If those don't work, we try BBQ sauce. Assuming we live long enough to get that far. Exxor twitches.

To Hippa, Thank you for your aides, they will be a great help to us. Are you ready to go hunting?

M Halfling

Let's go.

The last time we fought and killed one a group of us merely waited about a block behind me, when the creature attacked I took a pebble enchanted with a light spell from my pocket and then felled it with my Halberd. I dont see why we cant do the same now, set up patrols to slowly clear the streets perhaps. We should be cautious though, the last time that strange man said it was one of the smaller beasts he had seen

He began frowning.

M Halfling

No time like now, time is a wasting

So we can move ahead to walking the streets.

Unnamed

Ok make any preparation for the night l! Also you can spend the money to get the empty building.

What is the marching order?

M Halfling

Miro has his crossbow loaded and alchemist fire ready. Miro makes sure he is safely amongst the bigguns for cover.

Unnamed

map updated, squares are buildings you are all on a street

M Halfling

So hit the side-streets

Unnamed

ok, marching order, and what is your light source

M Halfling

No torches here. Maybe Hippa can cast light?

"Yes, I can cast light. And since we are definitely hunting, I have prayed the gods for their approval and assistance. Hoping we do catch one and as elusive as the smallest one was, I have one casting of Web. Perhaps it will slow it down enough. As always, Bless and two healing spells. Got a Sleeper spell should some minions try to interfere.
Oh, I have been prepping a little something for each of you, don't mind the taste..."
She pulls out one flask of CLW for each of you. "Not much, small batch from last week. Hope to try for the stronger version next week."

Her hair is coifed and she is fashionably stealth, shades of grey topped with bangled wrists. Her Pappy's boar spear looks freshly sharpened, blackened and strangely unfettered with decorative religious icons.

M Halfling

Miro will put Blue Whinnis on his crossbow bolt.

I have these, 2 for each of us. As he holds up a bundle of Sunrods. And I go this. Holding up a bullseye lantern.

M Halfling

Looks good, maybe we can surround one with light.

Shadowbeeaassstt, come out and plaayyyyy.

Open up the bullseye and shed some light on the attacker while moving forward to assist. Ideally, Exxor tries to position the cone of light to highlight the attacker and backlight Tram.

Bullseye:
A bullseye lantern provides normal light in a 60-foot cone and increases the light level by one step in the area beyond that, out to a 120-foot cone (darkness becomes dim light and dim light becomes normal light). A bullseye lantern does not increase the light level in normal light or bright light. A lantern burns for 6 hours on one pint of oil. You can carry a lantern in one hand.

Alas, the poor beggar child is spitted on Tram's halberd after they tugged on his sleeve for a copper.
