Well, while we're still on the subject of badgers...

*peers around intently*

The Exchange

The good townsfolk were grief-stricken over the death of Duke Leto. They went into a period of mourning, and were relucant to even speak so great was their grief for badger-man........

Is the next round over tonight?

Female Helmet Cat

6PM MST tonight is the round end.

Dun dun duuuuuuuuuuuun!

Male

Gahh... <gurggle> The pain! The horror! :(

Female Helmet Cat

I will be away this evening. Cutoff is 6PM MST, and I will post the results upon returning home.

Female Human Shoemaker

I'm going to be hanging out with Meows this evening, so lack of posting is because I'm really not there, not due to a sudden IC vow of silence or anything.

Human Cheesemonger

I have a hot date tonight. "The Drowsy Chaperone' is playing and we're doing dinner and a play. Curtain time for the play is the cutoff time here, hence the early vote. Off to get dressed!

Female Human Shoemaker

The amount of right down to the wire voting in this one actually surprises me quite a bit. I really want to stay and see the round out, it's all tense and exciting... but I must go :(

Female Human

Dang! :(

the Baker

Dates, having fun with the GM! Shocking behaviour.

I hope you enjoy yourselves.

:)

If the Mafia don't win I'm going to start breaking things.

Male

Shhh, quiet Hamish. You're dead. :P

Human Cheesemonger

This is down to the wire. Wow.

Human Cheesemonger

When is the cut off for this round?

That's important as Thadius and Clara have just voted for each other, which leaves me as the tie-breaker.

If it's to be the regular set time that is fine, but I'm also good with locking the votes down now (or as soon as Meowselsworth sees the votes).

As it now stands, if I vote for the mafia, then one town gets murdered and the mafia gets lynched. If I vote for the town (by mistake), then either the town gets lynched and murdered or both towns get killed (one lynched and the other murdered). I figure I'm likely to be the target of the mafia, so either one town survives or one mafia survives.

Irregardless, I'm not voting until I have to, unless by voting I close the polls. :)

Female Helmet Cat

If the remaining players are all fine with the lock down by Coraline's vote, we can do that.

Fine by me.

Liberty's Edge

Male Mutated humanoid avian with bird flu Expert Witness 20

Affirmative.

Female Helmet Cat

Alright, I've heard from all. Coraline's vote seals the round end.

Take it away, Coraline!

Human Cheesemonger

Y'all have made it hard, is the problem. You two both have an identical voting pattern.

Vote for [redacted]!

Such a bad time for chat to go down!

These last few moments have been exhausting! :D:D:D:D

Human Cheesemonger

The detective (Jin) at one point vouched for Thadius...

I know as soon as come back from my cheese party.

Did you have any tasty cheeses?

the Baker

Just 1, we had a tartiflette. Boiled potato, laterally sliced & layered with lardons (bacon) and fried onion. The a dash of nutmeg, and cut a wheel of French Mountain cheese in half and place it on top. Then oven bake until the skin is crispy and the soft cheese has melted into the potato. Then usually we have a side salad.

With this we played Blackbeard (a game by GMT) we didn't quiet get it finished. But it was fun.

At least the game was fun.

Female Helmet Cat

Jin never actually vouched for Thadius in my memory. Thadius only claimed it, didn't he? In any case, this game is over. As usual, I am asking for feedback at the end of this game. What did people like? What do people think needs to change?

I know that this is one more in a long line of games with three remaining players where the town ultimately wins. Some might say that this speaks to the balance we've achieved, that three are remaining, but it's almost always town victory. I find it curious, I was hoping to see a mafia victory, but that did not come to pass this time...

I think we need to add more bad guys to these games. In all my time playing the baddies have only won once. Something is not adding up here.

is chat down I cant seem to log in?

Meows: No vouch, but it was a comparative thing. If Hamish is bad, it's a vote for me. Of course, there is a chance of being wrong... :P

As for for feedback, I would say that part of the issue is that most all know one another. We've been able to see what each other are up to and how they act so it is easy to know when something is fishy. I cannot think of a way to quite rectify that, however. That was bad that so much of the core mafia game group was Mafia, though. It made it easy to peg who was up to what.

If the town had made a harder push to find the Mafia in the first two rounds (which we didn't, instead going after non-talkers) this would've been a less close game. My thought is that a round of no-vote, no-assassination should take place in order to ensure that the non-talkers can be removed ahead of the game and roles can be assigned based on the "creme" that floats to the top. :P

Doug: Chat appears to be just missing. In Off-Topic there is a thread labeled Paizo Chatroom? where you can gander at what we know of the status.

the Baker

Yep, unfortunately it is.

(According to a Thadius - Jin fingered me (probably by pm). Thus that's a implied vouching for...)

*shake-fist, puffin Ninja*

:P

Liberty's Edge

Male Mutated humanoid avian with bird flu Expert Witness 20

I do that sometimes.

I full heartedly disagree. I Think voting should be mandatory and abstaining should count as a vote toward yourself.

Liberty's Edge

Male Mutated humanoid avian with bird flu Expert Witness 20

What exactly are we disagreeing on? I am not sure what you're disagreeing to with my suggestion.

Abstention is fine, and should not necessarily count as a vote for yourself IMO. Forcing votes would be more disastrous for the Mafia as patterns emerge quicker. I thought you said things were unbalanced against them. Why would you want to stack more against them? @_@

Meows did have a 'no post and you're gone' rule for one game. It wiped out quite a few people and some with important roles.

This is why puffin is suggesting one round of strictly role play, eliminating the non talkers and assigning roles AFTER the elimination. Nobody will be hurt, then.

Female Helmet Cat

I disagree, I think that biding is a viable strategy when you have information gathering roles. When you do not have information gathering roles, you have to vote though, or else your side will all die. Mafia can use this. I think that has strategy.

As for the no post and you're gone rule... yeah, I think it might be worthwhile to figure out the activity of all the players before roles are assigned.

Waiting was definitely part of my strategy as both Treppa and Studpuffin noted.

As for Jin: "Ease up Thadius. I'm with Dan on this, I think Thadius is innocent." A bit on the angry, I drink too much and want to shoot people side of innocent... but still innocent.

It was either hope Jin knew what he was saying or do a coin flip. :)

This was fun! I never did manage to protect anyone as a vigilante, but that in itself was a nudge to the right decisions.

Thank you!

the Baker

Cool, great to have you on board. And really glad you enjoyed it, the vigilante role is fun.
