Elendra drops back a few steps as the swarm makes it way under the door. As before it starts with one or two, then like a tide it comes rushing in. Wynrey is caught in the center of it waiting for the others to run and the bugs begin to bite her.
Elendra bends down and a gust of flame begins to form from her mouth. As if on instinct she turns back and forth, spreading the fire across the hall and the bugs begin to burn. Flames lick Wynrey but she is just outside the force of it.
The fire ends as quickly as it began and Elendra turns and moves further back. A portion of the bugs now litter the floor but there are still thousands left surrounding Wynrey. The bites are beginning to take a toll.
Wynrey, please give me a fortitude save to avoid being NAUSEATED (DC 14). Then you make take your turn.

Talalmackk Chirronna |

Wynrey stumbles back past Elendra and both watch as the swarm of bugs begins to fade. The magic that summoned it expires, though the damage they have done last. Wynrey stumbles a bit as she feels slightly woozy from the buzzing she still seems to feel.
Combat is over, which is why I didn't really change the tracker.
Feel free to resume normal RP and banter.

Great job Elendra! That fire must have really done them in! I didn’t know you could do that, that’s incredible! And now that the bugs are all gone...it’s time to see what’s in those boxes.
I stroll down the stairs, open the door and look for the fanciest box. I turn to look at Elendra and curtsys slightly, light-heartedly but not mockingly as she comes in.
M’lady, Scorcher of Swarms I think the honor of firsts goes to you. The Box Slayer gets gets to go next.
Wynrey doesn’t know anything about magical swarms and since they died after being set on fire she assumes Elendra killed them all.

am dog. yes
Rosa wonders around a bit but not much.

Elendra |

elendra approaches Chui as he rechecks the trap.
Wynrey that fire breathing thing is totally new to me... Though it must be a blessing from the Dawnflower herself.
She called out to me, she really hasn't forsaken me after all.
elendra murmurs a prayer to the dawnflower quietly.
politely curtsies back to Wynrey
Scorcher of Swarms, I like that now I need to come up with something for you. I'm afraid I have used all of the blessings Sarenrea has given me for a while.

Rosa looks around and sees Chui.
not dog. big cat. one and one legs? chase? no. dig hole now. am dog. yes

Talalmackk Chirronna |

Moving along... I thought I posted this earlier, sorry.
Chui disappears through the door again. After a minute of so he returns and opens the door for the others to join him. The room is silent and still but now there is a opening to the east, where the swarm seemed to materialize.
- Masterwork Longbow
- 10 Cold Iron Arrows
- 5 Potion Vials 4 seperate Spellcraft checks to identify
- A Gold Scarab Clasp Appraise check to value
- An Onyx and Silver Holy Symbol of Pharasma Appraise check to value

![]() |

Wow guys, look at this stuff! This must be his longbow and his arrows. Cold Iron huh? Maybe when he was a General he fought against monsters that are hurt by this material. Demons perhaps, or maybe divs. Unless someone else wants this bow I can hold on to it.
appraise: 1d20 ⇒ 8
I don’t know much about this clasp and holy symbol. Or these bottles.

Chui Nyeusi |

Chui saunters over to take a look at the bling.

Harmini walks in the room and looks around, clearly unimpressed.
Mostly junk. Hardly the findings I was expecting. Maybe Chui will locate something more... valuable. He seems to have a nose for trouble.
She smiles and snickers to herself before she notices the others attempting to identify some items found.
If you can't figure it out, I'll be more than happy to do it for you.
What would they all do if I wasn't here to explain it for them? Probably still be standing outside the front door.

Talalmackk Chirronna |

I apologize, it was only supposed to be 3 Spellcraft and/or Perception checks.
Collectively Chui, Elendra, and Wynrey look over what they have found.
There is still one potion to identify, and if you wish there is still the scarab clasp to appraise. Elendra can still use Spellcraft on the potion and Harmini can make any and all of the rolls.

Harmini looks at the contents of the remaining vial and then at Elendra's clasp.
She smiles at Elendra.
Very lovely, my dear.
We should sell that piece of trash. Probably won't get much for it. It suits her though.

Talalmackk Chirronna |

The scarab clasp is small but good quality. It would probably earn around 25 gold if sold.

The hall is narrow but clear. Chui leads, keeping a careful eye for any dangers. Luckily it seems most of the dangers have been eliminated.
The blue section of hall is a mural, painted to appear as if those passing are crossing through a river filled with shadows.
Anyone can give me a KNOWLEDGE (religion) check, and yes a 10 may give you a result.
After the mural, the hall continues to a sturdy stone door. Chui examines it and determines it is safe to open when people are ready.

Knowledge Religuess: 1d20 ⇒ 19
She is SUPER cute, a few generations ago there was a Taldan breeder who managed to cross breed a hound with a moon dog. Some of the offspring have these weird hand-paw things but I liked the normal paw dogs. Her saliva can’t heal you, but I love those doggie kisses anyway.

Hmm...oh I get it! This big river mural must be Pharasma’s River of souls. By walking down this path, it’s like we are moving into the afterlife. I remember reading about the river of Souls during my classes and this imagery is fairly typical, although I’ve never seen a mural for you to walk along.
I stop moving for a moment, lost in nostalgia. Rosa’s whimper snaps me out of it and I move behind Chui to continue pushing toward.
We still haven’t found the real burial chamber yet. Maybe then we can learn more about who this guy was. And of course, make that money.

![]() |

Harmini follows along with the others down the hall. She keeps her thoughts to herself.
Hmmm... It would seem that Wynrey's brain isn't as dented as her armor. Still, I have no desire to return to that dreadful place. Even this simple mural gives me chills. We should get moving just in case this tomb is even as remotely connected to Pharasma as these hieroglyphs would have us believe.
She waves her hand at Chui.
Yes. Yes. Get on with it already. The treasure isn't going to throw itself into our arms.

![]() |

I don’t know Harmini, that gold sarcophagus tried to throw itself at us and succeeded. Thanks for the pick me up, you’re a pretty good healer. I’ve seen other healers and clerics panic when things get crazy but you pulled me back from then brink with the poise of someone lacing up a pair of boots. That’s no small feat.

Talalmackk Chirronna |

Chui silently slips through the door.
Chui, please give me a PERCEPTION check.

Chui Nyeusi |

Chui whispers quietly to himself
Well, my old school motto was "Even paranoids have enemies."
I think I'm going to take this extra careful.
Can someone come to the door and cast a detect magic while I search?
I'm going to Take 20 Perception on every single square in this room, doing all the empty squares first, then the two squares which look like they contain crates near the head of the sarcophagus, then the sarcophagus itself, and finally the last remaining square behind the head of the sacrocophagus

![]() |

Very well.
Harmini moves closer, right up to Chui and raises her hand as soft blue light emanates slowly outward into the room.
Casting detect magic and holding for 3 rounds if possible to get all the goodies. I'll couple this with a perception check as well.

Talalmackk Chirronna |

Chui starts making his way further into the room as Harmini moves in behind him to scan the room for any magical aura.

Talalmackk Chirronna |

Chui leans over to look at the chest and suddenly feels a sharp pain in his side. From the corner of his eyes he sees a metallic glint and movement.
- Bite 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
- Damage 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
He turns to look and sees what appears to be a snake rising up on top of the sarcophagus, mouth wide and blood dripping from it's fangs. The snake is unusual though, it appears to be made of interlocking metal segments and it is utterly silent.
Please give me a fortitude save.
Everyone please give me INITIATIVE rolls.
