The main gameplay thread is live! You'll be starting out having just hit the road to the Priory. Feel free to introduce your characters and whatnot, and get ready for adventure!
If you haven't already, make sure your vitals are displayed underneath the name of your alias.
The Lonely GM
Also - now would probably be a good time to hash out default marching order.
Brevon Sabor
I suggest the most armored to the front, with a rear guard. I.e. Kivyx, Colwyn, Brevon (per custom, i'm unarmored), Liath. What do you all think?
The Lonely GM
Curses! Another thing I forgot - here's a knowledge check which anyone can roll either here or in the gameplay thread. As clergy of Darlen, Brevon and Liath would know the DC 10 information automatically.

Hi there!
Sorry, sorry, ya, the holidays can be bad for me. But that's in the past, so tally ho! =D
K(religion): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
OH my goodness! And that, boys and girls, is what those in the biznez call "foreshadowing". =)
Kivyx
I just realized I only took one trait, Dangerously Curious. Erm... I'll just take Blood of Dragons and grab that +2 to saves vs. sleep and paralysis.
Because kobolds ARE dragons and anyone who says otherwise is a dirty heretic!
...sorry, that's the racial pride talking...
The Lonely GM
Liath, you wouldn't mind updating your status line to include touch AC, flat-footed AC, saves, CMD, and perception? It makes it easier to have everything more uniform.

I agree with brother Sabor. Christmas week might grind to a halt, and New Year's will bring a slow-down, but not a stoppage.
Kivyx, if it's my RP that's holding you off, I was just giving you some biznez because thought that's what your build wanted. I don't think it would be fun to make a "persecuted" character and not, be, well, persecuted. ^_^ If you want me to back off, that's more than fine. =)
If we need a replacement, Elessa was a fighter, and Electricjoke seems to usually run a solid character.
The Lonely GM
For now just bot him - I'll get a replacement ready in case he doesn't show up. I'm at an event for the next five hours so you won't see me posting until after then - but after that I'll pick the pace back up.
The Lonely GM
Probably should've mentioned, but I prefer players to bot for each other. You can either decide amongst yourselves who will handle this but it'd probably be easiest for whoever's available first to choose Kivyx's actions. Just post a desired action here and I'll write it into my next gameplay post and move Kivyx on Roll20 if one of you hasn't already done so.
The Lonely GM
It's been almost 24 hours since his last post, anyone want to bot for Kivyx until we hear from him again?
The Lonely GM
No worries.
Also I just realized that I might not have been clear about the detect evil in my last post. The half-goblins do detect as evil, it's just their auras that are absent - I'll let you change your action if you want.

Heh, please do. Telling people to stop fighting when the other side literally shot first (and the arrow is still sticking in my shoulder) is a bit of a sticky political widget. =)
Brevon Sabor
This just dawned on me (haha). A big part of my backstory is an inability to "sleep." Could we say a "full night's rest" for me would mean the requisite time spent meditating? The insomnia is meant to relate to my oracle curse, not an inability to recharge spells!
The Lonely GM
Mechanically, we can either treat your meditation the same as regular sleep (the general exhaustion/focus of meditation imparts the same penalties to perception as sleeping) or allow you to be fully aware while meditating at the cost of some minor drawback-like effect (the Sleepy drawback for example: "Effect: You take a –2 penalty on saving throws against sleep effects.").
I'm fine with whatever, so I'll leave the choice up to you.
Brevon Sabor
That...is one of the most awesomest castings of Bless I've ever seen.
Thanks!!

Yes, if you could start a loot doc, that would be very helpful. =)
Mind you, if you three each want to take a tanglefoot bag for right now, go ahead.

I hate to hold everything up in this moment of suspense, but I'm extremely busy today and tomorrow, so posting will be a little sparse from me.
The Lonely GM
Thanks for your patience everyone - I meant to be back yesterday but got a bit wrapped up in things, I'll have a post up in a few.
Kivyx
By the way, guys, I'm sorry Kivyx doesn't contribute to combat all the much (even when he IS actually attacking, though that's kind of on the dice). He just really wants to avoid killing where he can, and if he can get the wolf to surrender and eat quietly, he wants to try.
...plus it would be absolutely badass to have a big wolf companion. Probably not safe or wise, but utterly awesome.

I, uh, I...I don't think the skill works that way. If it did, it'd be like an at-will Charm Monster.
(But, yeah, a ranged, crossbow, paladin is a bit...unconventional, to say the least. But we've had a lot of ranged modifies. And in a group of only four, it's rough if one member doesn't contribute, so I've been hoping that the build flourishes at later levels. :-p)
Still, all good luck unto you! =)
Brevon Sabor
I think the idea of an archer paladin (or warpriest) is awesome. The issue is Kivyx's philosophy on killing. I think Liath is right--the group is just to small to afford non-action in tight combats.
Not to say your character can't be who he his because he's pretty awesome. I would only suggest finding a way to justify hitting things into submission. Brevon is LG, but he can accept killing in self-defense where it appears necessary.
Of course, that's easy to say when I'm only healing, and not impaling foes with Righteousness :).
