Hunter Deadeye
Unfortunately Oleg does not have any masterwork heavy crossbows in stock. He could order one from Restov for you, it should be here in a few days.
Hunter pays him the 350 gold for the masterwork heavy crossbow and a little extra at the DMs discretion for expeditted shiping of 1 to 2 days.
This is the last thing he does before traveling off with CWE.

After paying for his heavy crossbow Hunter mounts up and chases after White Eagle and Jhod.
Jhod insists on traveling by foot, so it's not hard to catch up to them.
as for those member of Team Darkness who are currently at the trading post. After hearing of your valiant Deeds Commander Kesten comes to you and asks if you brought any proof of your claims with you.
We're running short of threads. Ok Darkness, go back to the Darkness discussion thread and we'll continue your adventures at the trading post there for the moment.
Hunter Deadeye
And keep the gold I gave, even if I'm not in, because I gave you that gold.
And updating my gold for the preorder purchase of heavy crossbow now.
Also, Hunter sold this stuff off before he left. So how much gold did I get for this?
scroll and potion, a fine leather armour, and fine chainmail?

It takes almost 24 hours of straight travel time to get to the Temple of the Elk. So you stop and camp overnight.
On the first day as you are traveling through the woods you hear someone approaching. It turns out to be a lone hunter in search of game. Jhod blesses the man and lets him know that soon a temple to Old Deadeye will be available in the area and to come seek him to the west.
The next day after a quiet night of camping out under the stars, where Jhod tells you many amusing stories of his travels, often with a poignant moral or lesson at the end, you arrive at the temple.
Jhod quickly set to work preparing to return the temple to it's former glory. He reminds you that he will offer you both free spellcasting for life, in reward of what you have done, and if there is anything he can do for you, to let him know.
Kazz D'Avore
So CWE and Hunter left already? I wanted to invite you guys to the Stag Fort sometime in the nearish future. Also to have you inform any of the others you run into of the gathering there. Am I able to do that before they leave?
Hunter Deadeye
No problem, Kazz.
Jhod will gladly carve another holy symbol for Hunter, on one condition: describe what it looks like.
A leaf with a water drop at the end of it. I'm going by the picture I see. picture
Hunter makes a perception check on the temple percpetion: 6 + 1d20 ⇒ 6 + (5) = 11
Kazz D'Avore
Excellent!
Kazz gives CWE and Hunter the location of the Stag Fort and suggests they aim to meet up there 10-12 days from now, "The fort is invaluable as a place to operate from in the south and there is much to do. I will meet you there. Please try to rally any others you find."
He also includes that the priest Jhod is welcome to join them as well.
Hunter Deadeye
On that note, the DM did suggest to bring others into the game, good roleplayers and are thinking on it. On another note, did you get my pm Kazz?
Chief White Eagle
I am still trying to reconcile things as a player and this game. I can't seem to shake the feeling that I am partly responsible for things..if I wasn't then they may have asked me to join them, but they didn't so I am just as much a problem. the last encounter with team "fancy pants" still bothers me, things were posted that I took a personal offense to but I held my tongue hoping to let it pass, but now I feel it all unravelling.
In short... I will continue if even alone or with Hunter, might as well call us F-troop, (censorship prevents me from calling us what I really think we are). I do think that If I am to continue (on my own if need be, I might end up advancing faster than the rest as there is less to divide the xp up with (also increases the chance of survivablity)
well I've said enough for now lets get back to the game and try to salvage what I can. when it come to kingdom creation there will be some serious hurdles that will need to be overcoem first regarding other characters
After leading Jhod tothe temple White Eagle tells him remain here and do what you need to do. I will scout the area. and will return. I am hunting the beast tuskgutter.
perception to find any sign of the beast or other trouble: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15
survival to track or find signs of the tuskgutter : 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
Chief White Eagle
White Eagle looks back seeing Hunter follow.
I am tracking down the beast known as the Tuskgutter, before we attempt to slay the beast I would like to learn more about it. If possible it may be able to be tamed. though I do not actually suspect that is possible but I would like to try.
he pauses a bit then adds of course, should the beast not be very agreeable then we will of course defend ourselves.
White Eagle traks the markings he has found. he sends Elangomat off ahead to scout from the air as best he can.
perception Elangomat: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (4) + 14 = 18
survival to track: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
White Eagle left Sikem, (his horse) back at the temple and is continuing on foot for this.
Mardavig

Like a well oiled tracking machine, the two of you begind to follow this boar trail. It meanders a bit, going this way and that, but mostly heading south east. After several hours it becomes apparent that whatever boar you are following does not keep it's lair in this immediate area. If you continue on foot it could be several more hours, if not a day, before you reach your target.
Are you willing to continue on foot, or would you head back to get your horses?
Chief White Eagle
White eagle marks the trail up to this point.
We should go inform the priest, he may think us lost if we are gone to long. but tracking on foot may be the best bet. He looks about as though looking to the trees for answers.
Turning to hunter We will quickly head back. inform the priest of our intentions and then continue this trail on foot. Agreed?
Hunter Deadeye
Hunter will go first for the watch and he cooks off the last of the frogs for the night, after all 2 frogs lasted a couple of days and he kept them.
Hunter also will hide if he hears something coming with crossbow readystealth: 7 + 1d20 ⇒ 7 + (14) = 21
Chief White Eagle
due to only two of use rest periods will have to be longer to allow for recouping of spells. two 6 hour watches may be feasible but still will require extra rest in the morning due to spell.
I suggest several hours in the night with Elangomat keeping watch to facilitate better rest.
Hunter Deadeye
Hunter recovered his spells from yesterday, and he can keep watch today, besides if another troll comes, I'm going to wake you up. You can run if you want, Hunter might try to kill it, even if he has to try alone. Though if you are opposed against me trying to sacrifice myself to defeat it, I will run with you.
Chief White Eagle
I am swapping out some spells for the tuskgutter encounter. I am getting rid of magic stone for speak with animals
Mardavig

Crashing through the underbrush come two medium sized boars. They might be medium, but these creatures are 4 feet long and weigh 200 lbs. Their tiny, bloodshot eyes glare angrily above a mouth filled with sharp tusks.
Their 0 stealth approach to life means that Hunter, and even White Eagle, are not surprised.
Intiative
Hunter Deadeye
Sorry, Chief, but I have to shoot them, they approached us, if we could have found them and stealthily approached them, we could have used your taming method.
Hunter moves back and part of his move action pulls out his already loaded crossbow, and as an attack action shoots. attack: 4 + 1d20 ⇒ 4 + (20) = 24
damage: 1d10 ⇒ 5 map the one directly in front of hunter.
Crit crit: 1d52 ⇒ 33
33. Infection - Double damage and target contracts filth fever (Fort negates
crit damage: 1d10 ⇒ 5
Also as a free action, knowledge nature: 6 + 1d20 ⇒ 6 + (8) = 14 to see if these are average boars or something else.
Jenya P.
Hey, Joining the party after the boar attack. Please let me know if I'm missing anything on my character sheet. Also Hunter will have to carry Jenya's compass and gunsmith kit to get under the medium encumberance limit.
Mardavig

Hunter Deadeye
um dm, if you looked at my movement I should be here, as I posted it on an updated map. Not sure if that changes anything or not. where Hunter is suppose to be
map was written after damage of the first shot.
Chief White Eagle
White Eagle is actually taken a bit by surprise at the boar's appearance and even more surprised at their avoidance of him.
hoping that neither of these are the Tuskgutter. White eagle circles around with his spear in hand.
Striking at the boar now flanked between him and Hunter
attack: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 2 = 8
however the boar has proved rather agile avoiding the spear as White Eagle simply plunges the tip into the ground.
Hunter Deadeye
Hunter takes a withdraw action. This means he gets two moves and does not provoke an attack of opportunity from moving out of a threatening square.
He has a move speed of 30.
He moves 15 feet to get to the tree then starts climbing it. He has 15 feet movement left over for his first move.
climb: 6 + 1d20 ⇒ 6 + (7) = 13 He climbs at 1/4 his speed, so 1/4 of 15 is 3.75 feet. and his second move he still has 30 feet of movement.
climbt: 6 + 1d20 ⇒ 6 + (6) = 12 He climbs at 1/4 his speed, so he moved 7.5 feet on his second move.
3.75+7.5=
11.25 feet high into the tree. Feet off the ground by that much. Updated Map

White Eagle tries valiantly to attack the boar (I neglected to mention that the boar Hunter injured was bloodied by the attack) he stumbles in the darkness and is unable to hit.
Round 2
Hunter withdraws as a full round action, however "You may not withdraw using a form of movement for which you don't have a listed speed." So, while you can move a full 60 feet away you cannot climb, because you do not have a climb speed.
Boars are simple creatures. Simple creatures with a move of 40ft. They charge after Hunter, eager to wet their tusks with his watery blood. Both hit him. 16 damage Good night, sweet prince.
White Eagle's Turn
Hunter Deadeye
I'm not dead yet, I took 10 and 16 for -6 out of 16, so I'm not yet negative bloodied, will have to roll a saving throw on my next turn though.
Though If I do come down to a new character it will be the same alias different character, so I won't have to browse through all my aliases to find what is what. It will be a different Hunter Deadeye altogether.
I didn't optimize this one like I was suppose to.
I'll find a unique way to roleplay it too.
Also, what are the rules for bringing in a new character?
Do all my gear transfer and I get no extra spending gold? Or do I lose all my stuff and use my new starting gold to get stuff? A level 2 character is suppose to have 1,000 starting gold, but then he would be way ahead of the other Hunter, but as far as gold has been, I would say he gets...Heroic tier gold (780) instead of 1,000 which seems about right.
Chief White Eagle
Seeing Hunter fall, White Eagle realizes that these beasts mean business.
pulling a out a dried hawk talon from his pouch White eagle begins a short chant in his native tongue, as he crushes the dried talon in his hand and blows the dust toward Hunter.
Amolza Uepezese he chants and the wounds of Hunter close just enough to keep him from dying.
cast stabilize on Hunter
He then takes his spear in both hands ready for the boars to attempt to gouge him next.
did White Eagle get an AOO when the boars charged Hunter?
Chief White Eagle
I would assume you didn't get an AOO, since they had init over you.
But White Eagle already attacked in round 1 so he was right there in melee with them when they charged you.
Hunter Deadeye
Oh, right in round 2, they did have to move 3 spaces to get to me, instead of just a 5-foot shift. Boy I hope this combat isn't completely wrong. So many mistakes in this combat. But you only get one AOO per turn unless you have combat reflexes, so I suggest you go after the weaker one so I don't take the damage from the one who died.
Chief White Eagle
Well just in case, I don't want to hold things up
attack - AOO on the bloodied boar as it charges hunter: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Yeah that isn't any help. looks like I might end up joining ya
Mardavig
|
The AOO was indeed called for, and I should have mentioned, but it seems White Eagle's luck is just as good as Hunter's today.
Round 3
Hunter is stabilised, so the only thing he can really do is pray to Gozreh.
The boars turn and charge towards White Eagle, but it seems your luck is rubbing off on them. The injured one misses and the uninjured one, rolls a 1.
Tiring attack, the boar becomes fatigued, beating on you guys is just so much work. That puts an end to any further charging.
Ok White Eagle, you have an injured boar and a fatigued boar. Both have a penalty to AC due to their charging. The fatigued one has a further penalty to it's ac.
You are up.
Hunter Deadeye
Hunter prays to Gozeh while his spirit is temporarily in heaven. Give Chief White Eagle the Strength.
Edit: I might not have to remake him after all, not that I'm attached to him or that I want him to die, but a new character would restart all IC relationships good and bad.
Chief White Eagle
Looking to take advantage of the wounded boar White Eagle attempts to skewer tjat one. But having to face two boars alone proved more tedious that he thought. Throwing off his aim
attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Jenya P.
Suddenly from the south side a small human figure comes charging out of the brush welling and waving its arms. It looks like it is trying to scare the boars away which is ridiculous until the figure raises a gun and fires at the southern boar with a loud BANG.
Point blank ranged attack on touch using up close and deadly for extra damage: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 161d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 71d6 ⇒ 1
Heard you guys could use some reinforcements the human calls out cheerfully.
Hunter Deadeye
Thank you Gozreh for sending her. You must have led her here somehow. He says this while his soul is temporarily out of his body, which means only Hunter and the spirits and the Gods can hear what was said.
Mardavig
|
Jenya's gun echoes like thunder and burns like lightning. The boa to the south, fatigued, is now injured.
We'll throw Jenya in right after White Eagle.
As the boars take their turn, the bloodied one gently gores White Eagle for 8 damage .
The other one moves towards Jenya, take an opportunity attack White Eagle, but is unable to catch her with it's tusks.
Hunter lies there insensate to the world.
Round 4
White Eagle it is your turn.
