Young Sir Seamus of Klanach, had it all, he was a strong young boy with the dashing good looks, deep brown eyes and thick black hair, he radiated nobility and life… but then came the “accident”, the young squires were goofing off at who would be the iron fist champion of the kings tourney, when Seamus lost control of his mount and was dragged off through the woods… despite the best healers, Seamus never truly recovered, something had changed in him that day. Rumors over what happened started to circulate, and as time went by Seamus became more reclusive, sinister and gaunt.

good, if we get enough people interested then count me in, I will begin to work on a char myself just in case
consider making the game 20 points though, I know many nobles and rulers had a lot of weaknesses and flaws, but it is still true they were educated and trained to be rulers and that had some benefits over the others

I will submit Sir Gavin to the mix
Sir Gavin was smaller than most but posses great speed and reflexes. He took to swordplay well enough but found his own way of doing it. Some made fun of him dancing around and not wearing the heavier armors, but their laughs soon became gasps of awe as Gavin defeated knight after knight in the sword ring. He also gained quite the reputation around the city with his gallivanting with the ladies and his sudden performances at the inn's.
Sir Gavin Traits: Savant, Reactionary, Horse Lord
Dawn Flower Dervish Bard 1
Str 10 Dex 18 (16+2) Con 10 Int 12 Wis 8 Cha 14

Nice, I like the idea of Sir Seamus
Joriandrake don't discount the 15pt builds (they're the standard for APs for example) just looking for 1-2 more players to get this game running
hm, okay
I want to ask. you used RL examples, but does that mean the map is exactly the same as of Earth too?

Avery Hall |

Background:Count Avery Hall is a bastard son of the king. His mother was a favored concubine of the king and a noblewoman of the Jade Kingdoms. He was raised in the court, and his ambition and skill at 'the game' got him far enough to be publicly acknowledged by the king. This enraged the queen, who had always been jealous of Avery's mother. The king, wanting to get Avery out of the capital awarded him lands on the southern border, as a Count/Earl.
He is a skilled and intelligent politician. His nickname at court is the jade viper, due to the habit his enemies have of dying mysterious deaths by poisoning or assassination. His vision for Gabel is strengthening their relationship with the Jade Empire in order to aid them in crushing and plundering Suldran.

hm, so basically Romlon is the Roman Empire at the height of its power
okay, consider me signed up
She was also something that gave enough justification to get rid of her despite being a royal princess, she was a witch.
Mirabel was exiled by her envious brother and her enemies the day he took the throne once their mother died who kept the peace in the family. She managed to flee the court before the guards would capture her with an intention to throw her in the dungeons, and left for the Empire of Romlon.
Mirabel was welcomed friendly there, but she soon realized the nobles only tried to either marry her and gain a claim to Gabel or to raise their own status in the empire through the marriage with a foreign noblewoman. There were also some with no intention to marry her at all, and as she began to feel more like an animal to be sold she fled the imperial capital and went to the wild outskirts of Romlon, to the island of Albion.
Living there for three years she met the charming young general of the local fort, an aspiring warrior and tactician by the name of Marcus. He was preparing to fight against northern barbarian orcish tribes trespassing into imperial lands. Mirabel had a vision that this man will have an important role in the future if he survives a great danger. The still very young princess despite the danger coming after Marcus fell in love with him, and offered her aid in the campaign, saying she can at least cook and aid wounded soldiers. The general laughed and smiled at the idea, and after some persuasion agreed to this.
Mirabel then followed Marcus on his military campaign, who gained fame of his own in the empire as he won one battle after another, the common man through skill and planning managed to drive most of the orcs away, except the main army which they faced off against at the northern borders.
Marcus wasn't able to wait for fresh reinforcements after marching north, as the smaller enemy army attacked first. The raging orcish army began to scatter the first lines of the imperial army, and the appearance of a huge armored ogre broke the morale of the tired troops.
Marcus was wounded in a duel with the beast, and Mirabel was there to rescue him, the witchcraft she used saved the day, and the ogre was slain.
The ogre turned out to be the leader of the orcs who united the tribes, with his death some orc clans fled back north while others swore fealty to Marcus.
Marcus and his army marched into the provincial capital of Camelotium victoriously, during their journey south he also fell in love with Mirabel. In the city on their parade of triumph hundreds of ravens flew across the sky above them. Due to this phenomenon when Marcus was raised to the status of a noble he was called the Ravenborn, or Corvinus. It was a rare occasion that a new noble family was created in Romlon, so his name became known even in the far east of the empire.
Marcus Corvinus married Mirabel a year later, only after this did she tell him about her origin. Marcus promised to keep it a secret as long she wants it to, and continued to work on his career using his own skill and growing influence. He was soon named governor of Albion, and was even invited to the capital, but another vision of Mirabel made her beg Marcus not to leave Albion, what he agreed to.
Marcus became something like a benevolent, wise, and strong ruler in the province of Albion. He improved relationship with most orcish tribes and those which swore fealty were allowed to settle down in the province. While this move was not popular the orcs became an addition to the local forces and they helped increase the economy and wealth of the province in the next ten years.
Despite every caution, Marcus was poisoned and died at the age of 32, Mirabel was pregnant at the time and was lost in sorrow for years. many orcs who settled down were driven off by the new governor, but five clans were allowed to remain, of which three declared their loyalties to Mirabel and the "child of the raven warrior".
Now this child has grown up, and following her mothers advice, it was time for him to go back to his ancestral home, to Gabel. To add force to his claim by blood he traveled to the east with the three loyal orcish clans, to quite the shock of many people along the journey and at the arrival in the kingdom. Among orcish and half-orc warriors and surrounded by imperial mercenaries, Marius Corvinus Gabela, the Raven Magus of Romlon, son of Lord Marcus Corvinus and Princess Mirabel of Gabel, nephew of the passed away king, declared his claim to the throne of Gabel.
Mirabel was never officially stripped of her rights or got disinherited, so the council had no other option than to accept the strange white haired foreign boy as a legitimate claimant to the throne. Especially as he had troops to back up his claim. Through the arrival of Marius, the Empire of Romlon also got indirectly involved into the oncoming inheritance debate and the web of intrigues of the council, of which not every member wishes to give up their power and step back to bow to a new ruler.
Name: Marius Corvinus Gabela
Class: Cabalist Hexcrafter Magus
Claim on Gabel: Through mother and grandfather
Marius has gotten a mixed welcome in Gabel, some people are frightened by the presence of the mostly orcish army he came with while others think it was a logical and wise decision to declare the claim with them present. Many nobles think him to be a barbarian due to the loyal orcish tribes and this is not a good think if you consider most consider Marius also to be a foreigner with no right to the throne.
Enemies of his mother and close friends of the former king also oppose Marius, but he still has a few friends who remembered how Mirabel was forced to flee. Many of the spellcasters also sided with Marius, especially witches.
Whatever his welcome was like, it is a fact that he is a legitimate heir to the throne unlike some bastards which also were approved. It is rumored his very person may be the cause that even bastard children are allowed to compete for the throne.
As for the forces, they are for flavor, I assume all claimants to the throne will have a supporting base among nobles and other factions.
May the games of throne begin.

Lol. Extra points if you can guess which two Game of Thrones characters are the inspiration for Avery.
Edit: I was just double checking my numbers and tweaking things, was wondering what language they speak in the Jade Empires?

I am sure one is a certain bastard wolf, the other I may be mistaken about, I think it is a certain whorehouse owner
btw, I admit I don't know the actual books, I never wanted to read the translated versions that float around here, but I got hooked by the TV series and that awesome dwarven fellow in it

joriandrake |
Well, okay if I have to be honest I guess he's really more inspired by three characters. Tyrion Lannister, Oberyn Martell (not in the show yet) and Peter Baelish. I actually don't really like John Snow, but I guess that was a good guess as we're both bastards.
well, the whole theme/story of his mother made me think of John and the relation to Lady Stark

Big OM |

I have settled on a tactician archetype fighter.
Background:
As a nephew to the deceased king through his older brother, Sir Holden now stands ready to claim what he believes is rightfully his. His father the deceased king's older brother was forced to relinquish his claim to the throne for unknown reasons. (I'm thinking the reason could come out during play, something embarrassing). Thinking of his father as weak Holden has set out to be strong in body and mind. He has served with his father's men-at-arms and knights becoming a capable combatant and has some of his father's and mother's guile.

Is ARG ok, was going to replace bonus feat with
rather than being generalists, tend to specialize in a
handful of skills. At 1st, 8th, and 16th level, such humans
gain Skill Focus in a skill of their choice as a bonus feat.
This racial trait replaces the bonus feat trait.
and skilled trait with
manipulation and putting even sworn foes at ease. Humans
with this trait gain a +2 bonus on Diplomacy and Bluff
checks. In addition, when they use Diplomacy to shift a
creature’s attitude, they can shift up to three steps up rather
than just two. This racial trait replaces skilled.

Marius Corvinus Gabela |

Just remember to put the racial trails you use from the ARG here since I don't have that book
sure, don't even know it yet if I pick anything, my concept is using a pretty pre-planned improvement to turn out as I wish it to, I may be willing to give up Skilled but unlikely to give up the extra 1st level feat

Marius Corvinus Gabela |

Hm, updated character sheet, equipment not done yet. Turns out I need a Skill Focus on first level anyway so I will also use Focused Study as on long term its better (although no idea what level you plan to have this campaign end at)
Picked skills and feats that reflect the background story for a Witch educated Magus, I plan to heavily use the "Raven" theme especially from level 3 and peaking at level 9.
Please check the character sheet, if you see something wrong tell me.
