This section just isn't going to work well in pbp format. So we're going to do this a different way. I've revealed the entire section that you guys are working with for now. Each of you will encounter the following in various parts of the level, and resolve it on an individual basis.
You see a pit trap. There are a number of pillows at the bottom.
Reflex save DC 20 to avoid the following:
You fall twenty feet onto some pillows and take
1d6 ⇒ 6 nonlethal damage.
The door to the south is locked. During your search around this area you find three mechanical switches.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Nyroba steps around a pit trap, only to hear Bolonwr fall victim to another one. "Ah! Are you alright? Hmm... who puts pillows at the bottom of a pit trap? I don't think they're actually wanting to harm us, in that case. Here! Have a rope!"
Nyroba tosses down a rope to Bolonwr and braces herself to help him up.
Zandu Karela
|
Wife and baby safely back home.
Take 10 Perception: 10 + 8 = 18
Zandu with some paranoia manages to avoid the trap.
"The townsfolk, remember Nyroba this 'crypt' is normally used as part of a coming of age ceremony where the youth have to go on adventure. I mean something has clearly gone wrong, but remnants of that ritual are no surprise."
Zandu rubs his hands together, pleased with his explanation.

"I think it means we need to press the switches."

Tecolote
|
Tecolote is confident moving into the lead. He moves forward, trying to remain stealthy and watches for traps or other trouble while trying to figure out which direction the sound is coming from.
Stealth: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18

Tecolote turns back to the other Pathfinders, "May as well see what that is now." He continues slipping down the southern corridor, continuing to move quietly and watch for trouble all the way to the door.
Stealth: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25
Stealth: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15

Nyroba goes up to the door and scans with Detect evil to see if anything can be sensed. If nothing, she'll open the door. Otherwise she'll warn the others and then open the door.

Nyroba's second attempt breaks the lock from the door as it swings inward... about an inch.
It appears to be barricaded on the other side. Not the type to give up easily, Nyroba slams into the door five more times, the door opening a little more each time. She gets a very sore shoulder, but on the fifth attempt the door swings completely open.
Nyroba Str check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Nyroba Str check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Nyroba Str check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Nyroba Str check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Nyroba Str check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
The mournful wailing grows louder with each step toward the door at the end of this musty hallway. There are a host of bones strewn on the floor here, many of which are cracked and broken. As the door swings open, you see a panicked human pointing a crossbow at you nervously. His hands are shaking and his face is twitching severely. "The angry bones... the tricks of the dead one who speaks!"
Bolonwr
|
Sorry for the wee delay; was doing my bit as a volunteer in the Canadian election yesterday. But anyway…
Bolonwr will drop his flail and raise his hands, palms facing the human, to indicate he doesn't want a fight.
"We're here to help! We've destroyed several of these skeletons. My name is Bolonwr, and these are Tecolote, Nyroba, and Zandu. Do us a favour and lower the crossbow. We want to find out what happened here."
diplomacy (untrained): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Voice like a squeaky door hinge, I guess!

Nat 1 doesn't matter on skill checks. I'd actually recommend that we always let Nyroba lead on Diplomacy checks with the +6 and the other three of us can always try to assist. That way we're not just taking advantage of a lucky roll. Its our best chance to succeed.

I would say man armed with crossbow counts as danger or distraction, preventing you from taking 10.
Nyroba's Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22plus 2 for a successful assist.
Bolonwr tries to speak, a bit too loud and with a somewhat threatening tone.. "We're here to help! We've destroyed--" His sentence is interrupted as the man fires his crossbow, striking Bolonwr square in the chest, who falls on his back, unconscious and bleeding.
Crossbow: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 7
After the bolt fires and Bolonwr drops, Nyroba and Tecolote speak soothing words that convey a great sense of urgency. The man seems to calm down, drops the crossbow and goes into a fetal position in the corner, rocking back and forth. "Angry bones... Angry bones..."

Nyroba pulls out her wand and heals the half-orc.

"We'd better get that crossbow away from him and get him out of here. We can't have him panicking and doing that again!" Now that the man is calm, but fetal, Tecolote will try to coax him out of the room with the hope of getting him outside.

Once he is calmed down, the man is a bit more helpful. He explains that he was part of a group of vilagers that came to prep the dungeon for your "ritual." They arrived here 3 days ago and were attacked 2 days ago. There were six villagers total, but only he and his sister are left alive. After setting up the traps on the first level of the dungeon, they were attacked by the “walking bones” in the middle of the night. He knows little about the leader of the undead, just that there is “one with the voice of death, who stalks these halls in ancient mail.” He mentions that "You will need the shields and the keys.”
"You'll also need to swim... somewhere."
The broken man emphasises that his sister, Dimira, is still alive. He witnessed her being dragged off by the skeletons during the fight and he is convinced she is not dead. “The voice took her!”
His sanity seems to have been rather badly compromised by his traumatic experiences, but he is willing to follow you where you will.

"I could try to knock it down, but I'd be worried about the noise that would create. Let's try the other corridor."
Nyroba heads to the other door, and beckons everyone else to follow.
