Through the smoke and darkness Eng can see a lone figure near the Western gates of the Inner Quarter and the Beacon. It appears as if the person is preparing a line of defenses; the gate portcullis is in place but is being battered by the swarming foes behind it. Looks like all of the other defenders have fled or perished. What brave soul is preparing to make a last stand?

The party weaves its way through debris, flames, and smoke. An occasional cry can be heard out in the darkness, but it appears that your efforts have largely pacified Inner District for now and you move unaccosted to where you earlier saw the figure assembling barricades.
The smoke parts and you find that the figure is none other than Patrol Sergeant Omast Frum. It appears that he is still fabulously drunk, but somehow his years of experience (and the lack of opposition) have allowed him to assemble a formidable defense. All it needs is people to man it.
There are two rows of wooden barricades 3' high and 5' wide that stand about 15' apart.
In front of the forward barricade are two bundles of logs that have been lashed together, one on each side of the road leading up from the gate.
line, attacking all creatures in its path. A bundle of rolling logs has a melee attack bonus of +15; on a successful hit, it deals 3d6 points of bludgeoning damage. In addition, any creature struck by the logs must succeed at a DC 15 Reflex save or be knocked prone. The rolling logs stop when they reach the western curtain wall.
A large boulder that came crashing into Trunau not long after the raid began sits in the middle of the hill between the two barricades.
The boulder is nearly 10 feet across, and the PCs can roll the stone down the hill (toward the gates) at almost any angle. Additionally, the boulder picked up some of the same alchemical reagent that set fire to the nearby trees, and can be ignited with a torch. Starting the boulder on its journey downhill requires a move action and a successful DC 13 Strength check. The boulder travels in a 10-foot-wide line, attacking all creatures in its path. The boulder has a melee attack bonus of +10; on a successful hit, it deals 3d6 points of bludgeoning damage (plus 1d6 points of fire damage if it’s on fire). In addition, any creature struck by the boulder must succeed at a DC 10 Reflex save or be knocked prone. The boulder crashes through any barricades in its path, but comes to a halt when it hits a sturdy solid object such as the inner quarter’s wall.
Omast has also gathered a small collection of brace and reach weapons including: a glaive; a guisarme; a halberd; 2 longspears; and a ranseur.
Giant GM
Sadly, it appears as if Omast has been drinking while working and is barely able to keep to his feet screaming and yelling such luminary thoughts as-Give them orcs what they came here for! and Let loose the fury of the flaming logs!
The party knows that Omast is actually a highly competent fighter and good strategist and that his aid agains the horde of orcs breaking down the portcullis in the gat below would be quite invaluable to their survival.
Engwarth
Are there attackers that can be hit with the logs right now? Don't want to waste them on 1 or 2 orcs.
"Let's thin them out with the logs first, then we can ignite and send the boulder, if any remain we can man the barricade and use the fence posts. Daardra and Orett release the logs on the left and Ghûn and I will release the logs on the right."
Giant GM
Omast-Yaaaah! I'll give the order to fire the logs. Stand fast on my call! Filthy orcs! Taste the wrath of my lethal logs!
There is a large mass of foes battering at the portcullis currently with a crudely fashioned ram. It won't be but a few more minutes until they break through. No foes are on your side of the gate....yet.

Does Eng believe Omast will be capable in battle or will he be too drunk to function? If the latter then:
"Pssst, Daardra, guys, what should we do about Omast? In his state he might do more harm than good? Slumbar hex? Or we could tell him they are serving free ale back at the barricade?"
Giant GM
Omast looks intrigued by the offer-Elves aren't necessarily known for discerning good hooch from bad - heheheh. He takes the bottle and with a hearty yell-Bottoms up! drains it in a gulp.
A few moments later his eyes clear and sobriety seems to take hold. He looks a little embarrassed-Well....probably not my finest hour. At least the defenses seem ready. Are you?
Engwarth
"Thanks Daardra. You did an excellent job with the defenses Omast, let's put them to use!"
Giant GM
No sooner does Eng finish his last syllable of encouragement that a wild cheer echoes up from the gates a short distance away. The orcs have broken through the portcullis!
A swarm of over a dozen orcs pours through the narrow opening in gates as even more orcs work to expand the hole.
14 orc warriors are pounding hard up the hill towards the first barricade.
A much more somber Omast mutters-Guess I picked the wrong week to stop drinking....

The boulder crushes four orcs to death before slamming into the base of the curtain wall.
Six orcs reach the barricade and attack the party. Party action first.
2 orcs each on Orett and Ghun 1 orc each on Eng and Daardra.
The four orcs that survived the boulder begin to rush up the hill and will make it to the barricade next round.
Another group of orcs is assembling in front of the broken portcullis. They look much more organized than the first wave of foes.
