Nah, I was just joking about the "not really any divine submissions." Honestly, Dovak is meant to be a healer later in life (just one who wears plate armor and can stand in combat).

That'd be fine, because Willow's skills are suited to taking levels of the trapsmith rogue archetype later on. I could start out healing and then you could take over later. :)

Oric can definitely craft any of our parties potionary needs!

Your old-school gaming materials inspired me to create an old-school character - a halfling rogue, but with a bit of a twist to the backstory, based on the role of halflings in Varisia.

And your story about your mom cleaning out your old gaming stuff reminds me I have an old wooden chest full of 1980's games sitting at my mom's house. Villains and Vigilantes, anyone?

Hope to hear from you, this sounds like fun!

working on a standard human rogue with your classic rogueish back story.

do the rogues get a percentile roll for their strength?

1d100 ⇒ 85

awesome I got an 18/85 strength check out these biceps...

ooops sorry wrong system

backstory:
Bon is the son of reknown Ulfen weaponsmith Tallak Mot and a Varisian mystic woman, Zelani who secretly worshipped Gozreh in their border town in Northern Varisia. Bon was never especially gifted or talented at anything, but he grew strong as he apprenticed for his father's smithy. His mother would take him for long walks in the woods and teach him about the wonders of the wild. On occasion, she would even take Bon to the local Temple of Gozreh. He had to keep this a secret as Bon's father Tallak felt that any god was a waste of time, and crafting, drinking and gambling were more suited for an Ulfen male. Soon Tallak's gambling and drinking got out of hand. Bon left home at the age of 16 with a Varisian uncle and his mother as creditor's began to multiply at the door of his father's home. His uncle took good care of him and his mother for the next seven years giving him better and better positions within his caravan. Bon worked very hard and was quick to become captain of the caravan guards to the dismay of his increasingly jealous and conniving cousins. Bon's uncle had tried to put him in charge of the business affairs of the caravan, but he was never as savvy at it as he was when it came to a fight. Enraged at the favoritism, Bon's aunt and cousins quickly plotted to rid themselves of him and his mother and moved to do so as soon as his uncle died. His cousins disguised themselves and ambushed Zelani in the woods, killing her and making it look like a robbery. As Bon began to get suspicious, he found himself in the middle of a mob getting beaten after having been drug out of bed. The mob of relatives were hoping to end his life, when a group of strangers began to approach from the distance. Bon woke up half-alive on the outskirts of Magnimar with nothing but torn clothes. He was able to get himself to a nearby tavern and recovered in a few days thanks to the local hospitality. When he was almost healed, Bon fueled with thoughts of revenge sought out his caravan for justice. He would make his move at night. Once there, he noticed that the garrison had doubled. Disappointed at the loss of opportunity for revenge, Bon settled for taking what weapons and well-worn armor and provisions that he could and headed back to Magnimar to collect his thoughts and hopefully a few friends.

Apologies for the previous disorganized post.

I'd like to put in my bid for a spot in the campaign. Thanks for your consideration.

Hey its Hawkwen again. Here's another character I can offer. Was built for another Pbp, but never played. I can easily take him down to lvl 1

Howdy. Just got back from a vacation. Sounds fun. Will submit Half Elven urban ranger from Magnimar.

Sorry for the delay, folks. I'll have a roster posted tomorrow morning.

Dark Archive

Submiting an Aasimar Oracle of Life in a few hours if submissions are still welcome.

Thanks for the update DM_Degwyn!

Fingers crossed. :)

That's great to hear;
For I did fear
That you had left
Me (and the rest)
Of risk bereft.

But you are here;
And we, with cheer,
Await your news;
On morrow's morn
Adventure brews!

What Zirt said.

Dark Archive

I would have replied with a poem about patience [italics] except I couldn't find any good ones ![/italics]

Let's see...[digs around backpack]I've got a potion of Inspire Others...would that help you find a good poem? :)

My mother always said that good poetry is made, not found. Then again, she wasn't much of a poet...

I could help you learn, if you'd like!

Your delay is understandable; we all must follow our destinies, no matter how much we like or dislike it. If Iomedae (or whomever chooses your path for you) sent you on another mission, then that is where you must go.

Inventory:

Oric sits down and digs through his backpack. He pulls out some vials, an odd metal torch looking apparatus, and a big pot. Random mutterings and coughing comes from him as he lights the metal torch, throws some liquids in the pot, and pulls out powders and resins to add as well.

Whatever he's making, it smells vile.

I will withdrawl. I am already over committed.

Have fun folks.

Zirt comes over to watch, her big gnomish eyes going even wider with each new item the half-orc produces.

"That smells rather... unique." she says with a shy smile. "May I ask what you're making?"

"Hehehehe...sure thing my curious lady. Watch as I...*gulp*...drink it down."

Oric swigs the vial's worth of liquid made, with a wince at the flavor. Suddenly, he appears as a female Half-Orc, with a brighter color to her skin, no scars, and complete left ear.

"This nasty smelling concoction is just something I make to make myself a little more...pleasing...to look at. It's what I used to look like, before trying to brew something I just didn't have the skill for."

She looks at the gnome, and smiles, and says, "Where do you hail from little friend?"

SO when is recruiting closing on this?

My proposed character

I believe I have everything, but will verify and triple check if selected.

"Oh! Oh... oh my!" exclaims the gnome in obvious surprise. "That's quite a trick! I'll bet you had to practice a very long time to cast the illusion just as you drank the potion... I don't think I could manage that."

She peers intently at the half-orc, shaking her head slowly. "I can't even tell that it's not real! Oh, and I'm from Whistledown, but my parents decided to send me here so I can learn more things than the teachers there could tell me. Are you from a circus?"

Her last question is tacked on quickly and excitedly to the rest of her speech.

"Oh, you'd know as soon as you tried to touch me or heard my voice. It's not the most thorough or impressive formulae that can be done, but it's hard enough for me right now. The trick is...the magic is in my drink. But it only works if an Alchemist drinks it...otherwise you'd just get sick!" Orick laughs at the little gnome's excitement and speed talking. "No, no...I'm not from a circus. Just a poor Alchemist, making potions and other magical items as I best can. What is it you are aiming to learn?"

Ok, here is our starging roster:

Cyniq al'Vysin (fnord72) - Aasimar Wizard
Willow Earthsong - Gnome Cleric
Dovak the Willing - Aasimar Paladin
Alan Taselson, Jr. - Human Wizard
Zirt Fzerkinkrat - Gnome Bard
Ptolmaus Arvenus - Human Fighter
Anosten Hindfel - Human Rogue

If you're on this list and decide you're no longer interested, please let me know.

Gameplay thread is here.

"Good luck!" Oric goes back to brewing a new concoction.

"Bye, Mr. Alchemist! I'd better run along, or I'll be late for my lessons!"

Thanks for the amusement this afternoon. :)

Heh, and thanks to you as well!
