Suna Razorfang
Suna roars and bursts out of the Sand at high speeds, his tribal hammer weighty with new-found power. He came down upon the skeleton with the glowing eyes. pouncing upon the creature and leaping off the wall before crashing into it.
Charging Heavy Bull Hammer Smash: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 262d8 + 4 ⇒ (7, 6) + 4 = 17
First round is a charge, Bull Focus is on
Confirm Charging Heavy Bull Hammer Smash: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 134d8 + 8 ⇒ (2, 6, 2, 5) + 8 = 23
Bitha Sark
Guys I've got a nasty stomach bug. Bitha will let the Bjrning Hands spell go off before closing in and attacking any survivors. I might be a bit slow in posting until I get my legs back under me, though, so run Bitha as necessary. Thanks.
Alyna Dolette
Surprise round action: Move
Alyna moves into the tunnel to get as close as she can to the skeletons to hopefully fully engulf them in her spell and still remain out of harms way if possible.
First round action: Cast - Burning Hands: 2d4 ⇒ (4, 2) = 6
If casting would provoke an AoO, Cast Defensively. Concentration Check DC 17 (15 + double spell level): 1d20 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 2 + 3 = 17
Once in range, she invokes the power of her Goddess and extends her left hand, her buckler allowing her to unleash her spell. Fire bursts from her hands in a cone towards the skeletons, her eyes glowing from the reflecting light of the fire.
"Surezko Brigh burdinola boterea bainatu!"
Zlota Argyr
Surprise Round
Ksila squirms ahead, rushing to get to a spot where it can attack, well, anything, whether the watcher deadite or the others.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Though I doubt that is a hit.
Stepping around, Zlota sees the one Suna smashes and if it is still up will use a cantrip, acid splash, to assist.
(-4 to attack into combat with ranged attacks...)
Touch Attack: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (2) - 2 = 0 Nope...
1st round!
Hissing loudly, Ksila rears back and snaps at her opponent once more.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Bleed, if applicable: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Zlota, looks at any other deadites present and targets the nearest one still standing with her acid splash (which most likely is adjacent to an ally...)
Touch Attack: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (4) - 2 = 2
And misses once more. Oh, if only they had more offensive power...
Narrator Prime
The party rushed the deadites, with Alyna leading by unleashing a wall of flame. Three of the skeletons went down after the flames washed over them, and the last was felled by Suna's roaring attack.
As the bones rattled to silence, the group found themselves in a deadend tunnel. The light in here was bright, but it was seemingly coming from nowhere. Their shadows did stretch away from the rear wall though. A low hum and buzz could also be heard coming from the direction of the rear wall as well.
Bitha Sark
Strong attack, friends. I've never seen light such as this. It's clearly a curse or some such sorcery. The sooner we leave here, the better." Bitha takes a quick glance around the tunnel.
Perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Suna Razorfang
Suna was still within the revelry of destroying such a creature completely and then decided to begin the hunt once more. He approached the wall the noise causing his ears to twitch wildly as he places his hands all along them to find some secret door or magical portal. They were protecting this area for a reason!
Perception(Falcon): 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28
" The prey is somewhere here Nothing can escape my senses! "
Narrator Prime
Suna leapt back in surprise when his hands passed completely through the wall. For a moment the area he had touched wavered, as if through a heat haze, but then it returned to a normal looking rock wall. When he touched a second time, the big cat man felt no resistance at all. It was an optical illusion of some sort. One that remained in place even when you knew it was there.
Back wall seems to be illusionary. There is obviously an open space directly behind it, but this is technologically created so disbelieving doesn't make you see through it. I'm proposing battle order as Bitha, Ksilla, then Alyna and Zlota, with Boba taking rear guard. If you're happy enough just post actions for moving through the wall and I'll update tomorrow from there
Suna Razorfang
Where is Suna in there?
Suna gave a guttural growl " The wall is a guise, an illusion. The prey hides behind this cover well though the light and sound gave it away. Come Warrior Bitha, Shaman Alyna, Beastmaster Zlota and Archer Boba. " Suna grasped his hammer moving in.
Bitha Sark
"I've never seen illusion sorcery such as this! Those evil machines have great power. Be careful," Bitha muttered through gritted teeth, as she slowly ventured forward, sword at the ready.
Suna Razorfang
Second rank
The feline Hunter gave a respectable nod and a toothy, gritty snarl. " I dont not plan on being surprised against Warrior Bitha. I am going to smash anything that comes within my path to the prey! All metal creatures and this leader shall be turned into powder! "
Zlota Argyr
Zlota nods at Suna, though the term he uses for her is wring. She was going to correct hum, but shrugs instead. She joins him in the 2nd ranks, motioning for Ksila to side with Butha, ready to attack any deadites or other foul creature tries to attack.
"Let us be careful..."
Narrator Prime
They moved through the wall as a cautious group, weapons ready and tensions high. The wall effect prockled their skin slightly as they passed through, as if the static of a building storm played across their skin.
On the other side, the source of the light was evident. They found themselves in a room of technology once again. Floor, walls and ceiling were made from the strange metal they had come across eariler, only this time every thrird panel seemed to glow with an inner light. It was a disorienting effect, with the light coming from many places at once, no shadows were cast, leaving the scene feeling flat to the senses until the head turned.
A strong smell of ozone filled the rooom, as if storm lightning had struck recently, and the hiss and crackle of discharging electricity could clearly be seen coming from a series of nozzles on the side walls. This room was identical to the one they had left just before entering the desert some time ago. Again, it seemed as if it was some sort of dangerous trap, though this one seemed far more active than the previous room.
Across from where they had entered through the illusionary wall, a single door beckoned. It was shut, though the panel beside glowed a bright green this time, rather than having flashing red letters.
Bitha Sark
"I hate this place! I'd like to smash every piece of whatever this is in here. Light, but no sun or Magic...it seems wrong somehow."
Bobafett Aloysius
Bob puts his hands up. This time he felt the hair stand on the back of his neck. In this element, Bobafett realized the dangers just as Suna's instincts take over in the wild.
Bob carefully looks for dangerous traps and devices.
Take 20 on perception for 26 with technologist feat
Bob then tries to disarm and/or open the door in question.
Would like to take 20 for 33, but I do not think disable is in the take 20 category
disable device: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14
Bob's luck seemed to be cursed since meeting the deadites.
Narrator Prime
No need to take twenty to find the trap Boba. It has a difficulty to find of only 5 :). Your disable isn't so crash hot though.
Boba moves to disarm the trap, but finds the technology devilishly complex. His tools continue to work for a long time, all the while the hum of the room grows louder and the static effect grows. Just when the Halfling thinks he may have made some progress, the tools he is using are blasted from his hands and the nodes arc electricity throughout the room.
Ok, boba takes 2d4 ⇒ (3, 3) = 6 rounds to make his attempt. The trap actually goes off before then based on my random roll for it (from the book). Others in the group apart from Boba could hear and feel the increase in charge. As such, I would give you an opportunity to back out of the room if you felt it is something your characters would do. IT is certainly something most of the players in my real life game do when the rogue is trying to disarm a trap hehe. If you don't think its in your characters nature to leave Boba alone to disarm the trap, then that's entirely acceptable to.
For those who remain in the room
DC16 reflex save for half damage. Full damage is 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (5, 1) + 2 = 8.
What's worse, once the lightning arcs out, you can again feel the electrical charge building up. The trap is resetting.
Suna Razorfang
Suna sees the Electricity and his fur stands on end. Technology, this is why Suna did not enjoy such things, they cause many problems and their creations only more so. As Boba is shocked he looks to the rest and around, noting the sounds, that they did not have time. He places his arms to the ground assuming a Feral pose as electricity begins to build up around him, the pattern upon his fur shifting color and positions until it gains the same properties as the element itself. Suna looked to Bitha and asked with an static-induced and familiar yet harsh voice. " Warrior Bitha I need to borrow your Sword "
If she allows him to Suna stalks up behind Boba and jams both weapons directly into the nodes making himself the circuit the energy travelled through. " Now hurry up Archer Boba.. While I handle this issue for now. "
Bobafett Aloysius
ref: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Taking a zap with charred black skin, Bob yells for healing as he trues again.
disable: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14
Given a much longer time to work by Suna, Bob keeps working.
disablex5: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 13 = 191d20 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 211d20 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 141d20 + 13 ⇒ (18) + 13 = 311d20 + 13 ⇒ (19) + 13 = 32
Bitha Sark
Bitha hands over her sword, backing up slightly at the increase in the strange energy in the room. Bitha might want to, but she's not leaving the others in here.
Reflex 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
She is hit hard by the bolt of electricity that jumps its way across the room.
Suna Razorfang
Suna's current form crackles with eletricty as it seems like he takes the current running through him with ease, looking back the Bitha " Warrior Bitha I do not want to see you harmed and it is unnecessary for you to stay here to become so. You are a fine Hunting partner as of yet and I would rather not we lack the ability to face the leader if you are too wounded. Shaman Alyna can only heal so much. Please step back " The Lightning Tiger-man holding the weapons steady.
Narrator Prime
As the initial discharge wound down throughout the room, Suna stepped up to earth out the trap. Bringing forth a natural magic to resist the electricity, the hunter pushed both metal weapons into the walls of the room. Boba watched the electricity dance across the weapons and run along the body of his companion, and he could see the interplay between the magic and the energy, discharging as a purple corona from around the cat mans body.
The ozone smell grew stronger, but the little Halfling ignored it as he continued to work at the trap.
Twice more it discharged massive quantities of lightning, but neither of them affected the gunslinger as they passed through the metal weapons. Taking his time paid off in the long run, as he eventually worked out the tech of the device and shut down the wiring in the area. With a grinding hum, the entire room went dead, including the lights.
Across from them both, a hissing noise escaped the door as it slid open effortlessly.
Discharges into Suna. 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (6, 6) + 2 = 142d6 + 2 ⇒ (4, 3) + 2 = 9. Fort save DC 16 to halve that before applying ER from the spell.
Boba, no need to make all those rolls as Suna's plan allowed you to work without risk, therefore you could take 20. Lucky thing too, as they were some seriously awful rolls hehe
Edit - I keep mixing up Bitha and Suna in my head. Had to re edit my post to change names in there <sigh>
Suna Razorfang
I am not Bitha...
Fort Save Bear: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Fort Save Bear: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Suna's fur crackles with Electricity as current runs through him he toughs out the first bombardment of the jolts with a grunt, the net few molding into his fur which protected him from further harm. He pulls the weapons out as the place returns to darkness. " Is that all...? "
Bitha Sark
"Are we physically able to go further? A lucky strike could take me to my knees...and Suna doesn't look the best either, no offense."
Suna Razorfang
" Warrior Bitha, Shaman Alyna still has the ability to heal us does she not? If she can do so we should be fine. Why did you stay inside when the current went through? I do not want to see my Hunting partner unduly be harmed. Beast Ksila can make up for any issues we may have as well " Suna still sparked and shocked
Bitha Sark
"I don't leave my group. I suspected some strange metal creature to attack you all after the electricity trap was sprung!"
Suna Razorfang
Though it is harder to tell in his current form, the furs changes slightly and his eyes gain a different shape as if thinking on it, " You are a very reliable Hunting partner Warrior Bitha.. that is admirable. I will have to remember that for later.. for now the Leader most likely has no more traps and lies inside.. We will smash it. If we are fine afterwards.. we will leave and recuperate. I think that is the best plan. Otherwise what is to stop the leader from setting up this trap again? "
Alyna Dolette
Alyna stood by during the whole incident with the trap, perplexed and fascinated by the technology involved. Once everything was safe, she closed her eyes and called on her Goddess for healing power again, causing a burst of healing energy to wash over her companions.
Channel Positive Energy: 1d6 ⇒ 5
If everyone is content with this roll, Alyna will leave it at that. If not, she can channel again.
Channel Positive Energy: 1d6 ⇒ 4
After she is done healing her companions, she walks over to the disabled trap and begins to examine as much as she can with it and see if she can salvage anything of value or use.
"Fascinating..."
Knowledge (engineering): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Craft(mechanical): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Narrator Prime
Alyna's understanding of technology and engineering quickly came together for her on this machine. With the way Boba had opened its circuitry, she could see other pipes of fluids running along to the main nozzles. From this, she sensed that the nozzles were in fact intended to spray a fine mist throughout the room, and were not in fact meant to be discharging electricity into the room.
She cast her mind back to the previous room, and recalled small puffs of mist and fluid coming from the nozzles there. The room there smelled if chlorine and strong alcohol, and seemed spotless as well.
The pieces clicked into place there and then.
Spoilered below Alyna, in case you like trying to solve puzzles yourself without the DM just giving answers. If you haven't linked it all together though, Alyna has worked out what the two nozzle rooms are for. Read the spoiler eventually though :)
Alyna Dolette
Alyna's mind worked quickly to determine the purpose of this room as wel as the identical room on the other side of the unnatural desert.
Heal (to see if she thinks it has medical benefits): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
"It would appear as this room, and the similar room before, had a beneficial purpose. The chemicals present in the indicate a disinfectant of sorts. Perhaps if we were to provide power to the other room, we could be able to activate it's true purpose. That would be, it appears, to be a chamber that decontaminates those that proceed through it... A decontamination chamber! That sounds like a wonderful name to apply to it."
Zlota Argyr
Seeing as I missed the last few days, I'll say Zlota and Ksila took the damage in stride, healed by Alyna.
Speaking in Adroffan things that are not very pleasant, she is healed readily by Alyna. "Thank you, Brigh's chosen."
Suna Razorfang
Suna seemed fully recuperated but looked at the rest " Perhaps once more should give us a solid fighting ground. Any more would be a waste and could be used to bring us from the brink of death.. I'm going in you can follow if you want " With that Suna stepped forward uninterested in the Techno-babble.
Zlota Argyr
As Suna steps in, Zlota was about to speak up to him, but decides against. Turning to Ksila, she motions for her to follow. "Keep him safe, but make sure he does not wander too far off please." With a knowing hiss, Ksila slithers after the hunter.
Bitha Sark
Bitha felt better after the cleric's two bursts of healing energy. "Much better. I'm feel like I could take down an auroch again!". Bitha followed the other in, looking around.
Narrator Prime
The open door beckoned them through. Beyond its gaping passage, another well lit corridor presented itself. This one turned a corner before ending suddenly, but there were three sets of doors available.
The nearest set were sealed firmly, the panel beside it showing red and having a distinctive black stripe along its side. Words in androfan scrolled across the panel
The other two doors had brown stripes, but one of them seemed to be warped a little. Getting though it would take more than just swiping a card or trying the epicks.
The last set of doors merely had a brown panel, though its screen glowed a green colour. The androffan words along it read :
Bitha Sark
"What sort of damned sorcery is this place," Bitha asks in amazement. "This is like no cave I've ever seen."
Zlota Argyr
Zlota watches as Bob swipes his card. "Interesting."
Turning to Alyna, she speaks in Androfan.
Alyna Dolette
Alyna nods in agreement to Zlota's comment.
"Whatever course we take, we should tread carefully. This place give me a sense of unease."
As Alyna finished her warning, she decides to keep an eye out for anything technological that might be of value or importance.
