Introduce yourselves in-character or even out of character if you like then I'll get started with introductions, setting and stuff.
You can even choose the setting where you meet at as it doesn't matter, I will get you to the start of the game somehow, even if I have to teleport you all to the town that you start at in this game.

Line |

If you listen very carefully you can just barely hear the theme music to the movie "Patton" playing in the background along with the rumble of tank treads. :-)
A rather ominous figure strides forward into the bar. He stands 5 feet 7 inches tall and is wearing full plate armor. The visor on his helmet is down and all that can be seen of his face are two small faintly glowing purple circles where his eyes would be. The figure's entire body seems to be covered with weapons attached to an "H" pattern belt and harness arrangement worn over his plate armor. He is carrying a dwarven war axe on the right side of his weapon belt and a silvered warhammer on the left side of his weapon belt. He has a Gladius set up for a center front carry allowing a right hand draw on his belt also. He has a sap attached to the harness on the left side of his chest and a carrier holding a bunch of chakrams attached to his harness on the right side of his chest. He has a trident attached to his harness in the back accessible over his right shoulder. Last but not least he has a heavy steel shield slung over his left shoulder. While he is not graceful by any stretch of the imagination, he nevertheless moves more easily with all that armor and weaponry than one might think he could.
He walks up to Xildhal and spends a moment or two obviously looking the little kobold over. Finally he says in a somewhat bizarre sounding monotone voice, "I thought dragons were supposed to be bigger."

![]() |

The silver kobold with a well made cross bow and spear on his back , wereing mythral chain shirt truns and Looks at the tall humanto me that what you would look like since your covered in armor^_^
"you must not know a lot about dragons since one is right before you and my Fath full companion is a young lesser dragon, been with me for years but here sit tall one and I'll tell you about his and my dragon hood"

Klujjen |

In strides a large Half-Orc build like a brick privy (what other kind of Half-Orcs are there?). He has the pointed ears and tusks of a Half-Orc, but his skin is light green, almost human looking. Although he's obviously strong, he is lightly armoured. His armour is a lightweight mithral chain shirt, which he takes few pains to hide, underneath a mundane soldier's outfit. He doesn't carry a shield. He is heavily armed, though. He carries a bardiche like an enormous walking stick if there isn't a roof in the way. Hanging from his belt are a spiked chain, a cutlass, a kukri, a morning star, and a sling.
His face has numerous small abstract tattoos, and from the skin showing from his collar and sleeves, it looks like he has many tattoos all over himself.
"Hullo! You two look … interesting. My name is Klujjen. Klujjen Grathorin. At your service. I'm from Isger. An orphan without a past. I was far too bothersome for the Devil Nuns and, well, took my leave. And here I am. I hope to find make songs and poems of glorious battle. What brings you two here? I'm sure you two must have interesting tales of your own."

Line |

Line looks the chair over carefully and presses down on it with his hands. Satisfied with his inspection, Line sits down in the chair. He says in his strange monotone:
"I have to be somewhat careful because I have had chairs break under me before. It is not only embarrassing, but costly as the tavern owner usually wants to be paid for the damage."
Line wearing all his gear comes in at slightly over 230 lbs.
Line goes on to say: "I came here from another world a relatively short time ago so there is much I do not know about this one."

Klujjen |

"Don't mind if I do, Line. Thank you!" Klujjen sets down his backpack and leans his bardiche against the wall and sits on a solidly made chair, which groans noticeably under the Half-Orc's weight.
Klujjen weighs about 240 lbs with none of his gear, almost 340 lbs when he is carrying everything.
"Another world, you say? That IS interesting!" Then, looking looking at Xildhal "How about you and your companion, Dragon? From afar, are we?"

![]() |

"yes I come from the stonefang tribe, a not her world you say...hmm the great apsu dose have some interesting plan's having me meet a being from another world..yes this will be an interesting journey. ."
Motioning for the orc to join us as Xildahl feeds some food to Zxill, as he is feeding his pet
"yes one day Apsu had this small dragon meet me and gave me a vision to head north. So here we are...some day I hope to prove myself worthy to the great creator Apsu...but that might be a long way off haha sit tell me what took you here my new friends"

Line |

Line twists and turns around some in his chair moving as he has to in order to bring his shield around. He is not trying to wear the shield as one would for battle, merely making sure that the design on it is easily seen. Line points to the various parts of the design as he describes it. He says:
"Take a look at the design on my shield. You will see that there are 4 relatively large circles arranged in a square and oriented such that one of the corners of the square points to my right when I would be wearing the shield. They are surrounded by 6 smaller circles arranged in a hexagon. One of the points of the hexagon also faces towards my right. That is not just any old pattern, that is what the moons on the world I am from look like as they travel through the sky. Both the inner square and the outer hexagon point to the west."
Line's show and tell over he slings his shield back over his left shoulder. He continues with his tale.
"My last assignment back home was working as a caravan guard. The caravan that I was with got attacked by an overwhelming enemy force and broke up. I fought my way clear and found myself alone. I wandered for over a week trying to find my way back to a place that was familiar. What I found instead was the ruin of an ancient city with an archway standing by itself in a prominent spot. Occasionally other locations would be visible through the archway. When I saw an area through the archway that looked sort of familiar I walked through the arch. Thus I found myself on this world and discovered that I could not go back."

Klujjen |

"I haven't come as far as either of you two. On the other hand, I have had dream-songs from Gorum urge me to find allies in unlikely places. That is how I must seek the battle glory that pleases Our God of Iron. This places seems as likely, or unlikely, as any! It feels right."
Then, with a thoughtful look, Klujjen says "I am trying to remember, by the grace of Gorum, anything I may have heard about these parts. Hmmm…"
Knowledge (local): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Probably a bit of common knowledge is the best he can come up with at the moment.

Klujjen |

Klujjen smiles: "It's always good to have allies, who can tell others of deeds of battle! You are clearly sturdy and skilled in battle, Line. My gift is to inspire my friends, even myself, to greater heights of strength and stamina in battle. And how about you, Dragon? What are your talents in battle?"

Line |

Line replies in his strange monotone:
"I was created 30 years ago as a living weapon of war. I served for 20 years in a heavy infantry shield wall brigade that bore the brunt of the fighting with my country's most bitter enemy. Even though we were eventually victorious in that conflict the larger war that struggle was only a part of still raged."
"While the brigade I was in had performed well in combat and had won numerous battle honors, a new generation coming to power in my country's government decided that replacing the losses we suffered in sustained heavy combat was too expensive. The brigade was disbanded and we were assigned in small groups, usually 10 unit squads, to various supporting roles. Again we performed our assigned tasks well. The losses that we suffered by and large dropped to a fraction of what they would have been had we remained fighting as a brigade on the front lines. The people that we displaced who ended up serving on the front in our stead were not happy with that turn of events. But the new leadership in our country did not seem to care. They appeared to be satisfied with the money they were saving."
"While I am not as good at spotting things as a custom designed or trained and experienced scout would be, I nevertheless see better than an average human. Especially in the dark."

![]() |

Once Line mentions he was created Xildahl slowly reaches for his crossbow so as not to be noticed
"you say you were created?, so your a golem?.".
deciding againce it Xildhal leaves his weapon alone to hear more of this odd ones story...

okay, after the introductions, heroes have been teleported to the Arthfell Forest I'll be bolding names and places so you don't miss them.
The heroes have no idea what they are doing here yet, but something tells them they are suppose to be here. I will give you the adventure background after the introduction, which is very short, but I want to get through this fun part first
Ahead heroes can see a trail and a sign that says Travelers Stop Inn. Though they can't see the place yet.
Ahead in the trail about 20 feet in front of them, they see a corpse, but behind them nothing, and as you go off the path, nothing but trees and grass and dense forest and only a few of the trees are climbable. The corpse still has armor and weapons on it though, it was probably looted for other stuff. The corpse is a golinoid creature of some sort. You can also see several different tracks near the body and bushes near the body as well, and yes the bushes are in a spot where one would have a perfect opportunity to sneak up on the body as they hide. The bushes are to both the right and left of the path.
Okay heroes, do your thing, start adventuring, roleplaying or even rollplaying, or whatever it is you do.

![]() |

if its ok with the rest of you ill just play it as we already know each other ok?
as Xildahl sees the the body on the road he motions for the group to stop perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12 if i do not notice anything he teels the rest of the group
"line if you want to walk up and take a look, Zxill and ill be in the woods close by..."
Xildahl and Zxill quickly move to find cover
Xildahl stealth: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
Zxill stealth: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (10) + 15 = 25
edit:
woot im a ghost ^_^

Line |

Line replies to Xildhal:
"I am an advanced golem variant that is called a golemnoid. Unlike a regular golem I am much more life like. I am self aware and capable of deciding on my own course of action like any human could. I also heal naturally over time unlike a regular golem that must be repaired by skilled craftsmen."
Then the teleport occurs.
Line looks around and says, "What just happened? It's like we went through some sort of doorway without actually moving. Regardless, this place appears to be dangerous."
Line rigs his shield for battle and readies his waraxe as he looks around.
Perception check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Line then moves up to the corpse and examines it. Any indication of what killed it?
Perception check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20

Klujjen |

As soon as the teleport happens, Klujjen is standing near Line, with his Bardiche in his hands.
"By Gorum! What the (insert some Orc swear words here!) just happened? How did my bardiche get in my hands? It was leaning against a wall!"
Klujjen follows Line, keeping alert for anyone or anything other than Line, Xildahl, and Zxill.
"Does anyone know where we are?"
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21 To look out for trouble
Kn. (local or geography): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 To see if he has any clue where they might be

Orgril Lamon |

Sorry I'm late. I was unusually busy yesterday and this game didn't show up in wayfinder yet. I'm here now and I can post from my phone in the future if i'm out and about.
"What the hell?!"
You are joined by another half orc man. Much like klujjen he is lightly armored, but carries no significant weapons (I have 2 clubs listed, but I was thinking they would be large wooden sticks tied up his other trinkets.) What he does have visible, are dozens of trinkets all over his person. Small vials, herbs, dried fruit, stones, you name it, it is in a pouch or tied to his clothing and backpack.
We are starting as an existing adventuring party that knows eachother right?
Orgril looks around to figure out where he is and if there is any danger.
kn local: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32
perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
heal for the corpse: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18 (determining cause of death, if possible)
Wow!, Look at those rolls. Starting this game out right!

![]() |

My bad thought we were role playing it as a we were walking the road from the beginning not that we met each other in the bar and teleport into the road my bad huh yeah ^_^

those are some good local checks you already know the name of this place, that thing is a hobgolin, dogs roam around here. You know that these dogs will eat you alive, just like they eat the hobgolin alive (cause of death) and it is noones pet. All who made a perception check spotted the dog and all 3 dogs are off of path to the right, nowhere near the corpse, but 25 feet to the right of you all and north a little towards the corpse. You know with your skill checks that if you get within 15 feet of the dogs they will come at you, which means surprise round if you want.
I'll get a map up soon.

DoubleGold |

The map is up, the yellow is the path. You have almost infinite space off the yellow path, but it is impossible for me to draw infinite space, so you can go off the map, I only drew a few squares here and there. The corpse has some important stuff on it, you know this from you local check, an item that is worth more than gold. Obviously going on the path toward the body will provoke the dogs, your option is to go off the path to the left and go back onto the path only to get to the body or try to surprise round the vicious dogs, other anything else you deem appropriate such as walking off the path to the left and ignoring the body and head straight to the inn or animal handling.

Klujjen |

I'm assuming that these dogs are much bigger than Great Danes; really BIG, therefore!
"It looks like those three big dogs yonder," … motioning toward the three dogs in the forest … did this fellow in. We need to deal with them. They will attack us either if we get too close to their prize or if we get to close to them.
I am ready for them with my wee axe here, Bracing his Bardiche. "Who wants to fight these beasts? Say the word and I'll make you stronger and tougher for battle!"

Line |

Line says, "If I thought these dogs were somebody's pets I would try to see if I could handle them. But these appear to be wild animals that have a taste for humanoid flesh."
Line puts his axe away and pulls out a chakram. He says, "I would suggest that we take the chance we have to soften them up with missile fire before they close for melee combat. After we take our shots, those of you who think they are squishy should get behind me."
Line advances a little to where he is 20 feet from the closest dog.

Klujjen |

Klujjen advances alongside Line, bracing his Bardiche for charging attacks.
He wants to use his two AoO with his bardiche against charging dogs, if he can, to maximize the damage.
Klujjen also starts singing, which brings a feeling of greater strength and heartiness, for those who want the benefits of an Inspired Rage (not so hot for those needing to concentrate).
Klujjen will, of course, be pumped up by his own inspired rage
STR = 20 because of Inspired Rage
These are for two AoO versus charging attacks
I have the optimism! But I hope I have the math right too!
AoO #1: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 272d10 + 14 ⇒ (4, 7) + 14 = 25
AoO #2: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 232d10 + 14 ⇒ (6, 9) + 14 = 29
AoO #1 confirm: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 111d10 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

![]() |

since I was ready and should be well in my range I'll attack the first one that runs up to them as I'll have Zxill stand 10 in front of me to take any attacker that might come up still hidden in the shadows of the trees Xildhal takes aim ready to attack the first beast as his loyal companion stand before him ready to chaleng anything that would dare charge his master I will attack once one of the dogs do attack cross bow: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17 damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3
-Posted with Wayfinder

![]() |

I'm ready
Edit
on second thought I'll attack during the surprise round as well so I can get a couple more shots off, so I'll shoot as soon as you throw your chakram. oh and I'll have my pet take the benefits of rage song

Line |

Line says, "Ok everybody. On the count of three. One, two, three."
Line throws his chakram at the closest dog.
Attack roll: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16

![]() |

Xildhal fires at the far dog
crossbow: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5

Klujjen |

Klujjen will hold his action and brace his (master work) bardiche for two AoO (against two different dogs):
AoO #1: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
damage #1: 2d10 + 14 ⇒ (7, 7) + 14 = 28
Hope their AC is pathetic!
That would be 14 damage, it he couldn't catch one on a charge
AoO #2: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
damage #2: 2d10 + 14 ⇒ (1, 3) + 14 = 18
Slightly better chance with this one...
That would be 8 damage, it he couldn't catch one on a charge

![]() |

lol with luck that's three dead dogs ^_^

okay as heroes coordinate their attacks the dogs are obliterated into oblivion, smashed into pieces and only see what is left of them.
also if anyone has a thought about a creature, rolling a knowledge check to know more about it is a wise idea Klujjen could have rolled a nature check if he wanted to know more about these dogs
Heroes search the area carefully. They find a chain shirt on the body as well as a [n]broken conditioned longsword[/b]. And in the bushes a +1 dagger that also gives cold resistance 2. It has the words Brightflame on it.
5 minutes later after heroes travel forward they get to the tavern. Instantly they recognize and see a group known as the Black Banners. They are a good group, but they seem to take matters into their own hands rather than obey the law, and they are sitting at the right table. In the center, heroes can see 3 halfings talking and having fun, and at the left a group of dwarves with one human and in the corner a couple, both humans.
They place looks clean and neat and well kept up. The bartender is a man is his 40s. Along with 2 other servers/cooks both female in their early 30s. And his 16 year old son also works here. what do heroes want to do in the bar?
