I'm all about a combat game, but I'm getting married this weekend and then honeymoon for a couple of weeks. I'll be online when possible, and hopefully with the wedding all done with I'll have more time for playing again.
So if you're okay with ~3 more weeks of a tough schedule from me, I'm still interested. If I don't post within 12 hours or so, GMPC would be much appreciated.
Looks like he'll be back in another week or two... just failed to update this thread with the notice on his absence.
Yay for level three :) and boo for losing Tararr... I'm not sure where he's disappeared to, but he hasn't been active in any of his campaigns (I do remember a small mention of computer issues - and there's always the unexpected military stuff that could have swallowed him up).
Would be good to have a dwarf on deck for when we make the mine itself... plus this diversion with the Ouat clan ;)

Hungry Voodoo |

Ah, OK sounds like we can expect Surak back hopefully in another week. I expect Tararr has been sequestered somewhere. It's happened before.
sooo likely we need a warrior type or two. Anyone got any ideas of good folks? should I ask around the campfire?
I was actually aiming more for a branch of desert dwarves than the Pahmet or sand dwarves from which the Ouat arise, but now that you mention it... The Pahmet are a bit too tied to the Pharoahs, but have the right attitude. The description from Dwarves of Golarion almost mskes me think the osiriani dwarves are supposed to be descended from outsiders. maybe Azer given the Pharoahs interest in genies and the elemental planes? or maybe ETs with all the Satrgate stuff as well?
I like the part I added about dwarves having a tough time of it in the Mwangi Expanse. I recall a possible Sky City there and it would help explain the lack of orcs in the south.

Chitleen Shudra |

Yeah I think there was a sky city that crashed into the Mwangi somewhere, and dwarves would definitely not suffer the jungle very well.
Asking at the campfire would definitely be one way of getting someone, but I think most of the people there are pretty tapped out in terms of total number of games. Maybe someone from your S&S PbP Voodoo?

Oye! Someone say undead? ;)
Checking in and thank you for the invite. Profile is basic there are still tweaks I like to make to the default Hero Lab output. It's all there I just need to pretty it up.

Mankato |

Hello, I was not expecting to be picked when clerics were asked for. Thank you for the opportunity. I just thought a monk sounded interesting. Let me know what you need me to finish up with.

Hungry Voodoo |

there's a wrong direction? this is total sandbox except for the preordained parts : ) i find your lack of faith in the GM disturbing... i'll get them there regardless of what you do.
I'll put the intro in this evening. Mankato and Lockjaw look fine. Wolfwaker said he was on vacation, but should hopefully be back after this weekend.

Karrak Ironhand |

I am here (Wolfwaker). Thanks for the selection. Been driving most of the day so just checking in. Should I revise my skills to complement the others or just keep them as is (I think I chose the right number.)? I could use a bit of advice on gear since I am pretty new at Pathfinder (used to play RPGs 20 years ago) and have not really dealt with anything beyond 1st-2nd level yet.

Hungry Voodoo |

a'right. I made some assumptions to move things along. I thought maybe a Lockjaw and Mankato might already know each other since they were both a bit exotic and had ties stone and deep places.
I wanted to give all the new folks an introduction to their benefactors, Truther and Travis or at least Truther as the negotiator of the pair.
Mankato- give me some background about what you look like and what your history is so I have a better idea about what your character is like.

Karrak Ironhand |

Karrak- lorekeeper is fine. as for gear- i dunno upgrading weapons is always a good idea.
also could you move Combat Stats to the top so I don't have to scroll for them . thanks.
OK moved that and cleaned everything up a bit. Working on the gear.

Karrak Ironhand |

Can you confirm how the dorn-dergar works (or how you treat it)? Can I hit anybody 2 squares away or do I need room to swing it, e.g. a 10 foot clearance all around me? I like the idea of having a switchable reach/non-reach weapon but if it is only going to work in limited situations maybe that feat is better spent elsewhere.

Chitleen Shudra |

Karrak - essentially you have to choose whether you are wielding it as a reach or non-reach weapon when you draw it - and are then held to the benefits / limitations of that style until you change it.
So if you wield it as a reach weapon, then you can hit targets two squares away but not adjacent. Similarly as a normal weapon you'd hit adjacent only.
You don't need to have clearance around you to swing it - as that aspect is hand-waved within the rules.

Should I work some of this into my background?

Hungry Voodoo |

Should I work some of this into my background?
not really. you not being local is preferred. I was just trying to differentiate the desert dwarves from the typical dwarf stock of the northern continent.
I'm not really sure what a dorn-derger is supposed to be, but I'm imagining a hammer on a chain.

Chitleen Shudra |

Dwarven Dorn-Dergar: This exotic weapon is a 10-foot-long, heavy metal chain weighted at the end by a round ball of solid iron about
the size of a large fist. By adjusting the slack of the chain, the weapon can be used either with or without reach. Changing between using
it as a normal weapon and a reach weapon is a move action. Though fallen into disuse over the spanning centuries, the dorn-dergar is
still sometimes employed by dwarves who cling to the old ways.
Dwarves treat dorn-dergars as martial weapons.

Mankato |

I put a description up. I did not put in a lot of story because I view Mankato as being one that was a loner and just working on his style of perfection so hasn't really do much living.
