Ariza stands up and casts spark on whatever is available to start on fire.

Maybe the Gobby won't get an attack of opportunity since she looked away?

Just after she stands up, she sends a message to Rezzin. Come down off that tent roof now my little man. Get in behind this goblin and try to stay hidden..

Rezzin jumps down off the tent and moves toward the Goblin *AFTER* the Goblin turns back toward Ariza.

Glad to see that his intimidation was effective, Rak returns to his bow-work, continuing to target the same goblin. (Goblin 4)

Longbow: 1d20 + 3 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 3 + 1 - 4 = 18 (+1 from Judgment)
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 2

He then moves to get into position for a melee attack next round. (Movement reflected on map; movement started with a SW diagonal move, and ended with a SE diagonal, such that Rak never moved through a threatened square.)

Not that I'm really a movement nazi but just so you know for home games the first diagonal is 5' and the second is considered 10' of movement and then they alternate as such 5', 10' and so on.

And the goblin is down! Sorry to spoil the suspense lol.

Did my arrow fell the goblin? If so, I'd like to do a different movement anyway (full 30' from my original position towards Sorin's goblin (if his goblin is still standing)). But, your comment on the diagonal movement is noted.

Looking at the rolls, how come the AOO against me was a hit?

Happy to see an ally showing up and helping (oooh, that felt good!), Denche frustratingly jabs at the goblin again.

GAH damn dice roller...sometimes when you preview dice rolls it shows you one thing and then when you post it changes the rolls...I'll obviously go with the roll that is shown which would be a miss...not that it matters anyway since your both healed fully lol.

Round 5 wrap up

Rak your bow zips through the air and into the goblins eye releasing a font of juices as it drops to the ground twitching. Goblin 2 will once again swing at Sorin but the blade goes right between the rogues legs. Denche unfortunately you miss with your dagger again. Sorin your first swing goes wide but your second swing connects and drops Goblin 2. Goblin 1 seeing that he is all alone flees the seen, jumping from the stage and then running off. This will provoke an attack of opportunity from Denche as he runs past. Unfortunately the big mans dagger swings wide.

Sorin examines his now closed wounds. Finding himself back to full health, he examines the dead goblins around him looking for anything of value or clue to where they came from.

After taking what he can, he jogs over to meet his comrades.

"Everyone doing alright?"

He turns to the newcomer.

"You have my thanks, wasn't sure if I'd hold out if you didn't come along."

Feeling the Judgment of Cayden Cailean dissipate from his body, Rak breathes a sigh of relief knowing that the combat is over. He looks around to all of his companions and feels even better to see them all in good shape. "So what was that all about, eh? Ariza, Denche, I think I heard you both speaking to them in their own tongue; were they saying anything?" Rak stays close enough to listen to any answer he receives, but also begins looking for the woman who was injured, to see if she needs more assistance. He will attempt to retrieve any arrows he fired that are in good enough shape to be reused. Finally, he'll search the bard goblin's body if nobody else has done so.

Denche curses as his swing yet again fails to connect. Seeing the goblin suddenly flee, he turns around to see what might have caused that change. For all my shouting, he leaves by his own volition?! Could I be any more useless?

Eyeing the other dead goblins: "Everyone ok? Looks like we're safe for a bit."

He returns to the other side of the stage, picks up his torn bow and inspects it. You fail me not when hunting for food, but when my life is at stake?! Must be this solstice and the poor butterflies.

He then jumps down and inspects the corpses for any symbols, emblems or other identifying objects. And pulls out that one arrow he managed to shoot.
perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16 I guess?

At the same time he responds to Rak: "They had nothing relevant to say and my shouting was mostly aimed at making them fearful."

Denche says they weren't saying anything in particular; is it normal for such a small group of goblins to attack a gathering in a public square like this?

Knowledge (local): 1d20 + 3 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 3 = 9 (+3 Monster Lore)

Looks at Sorin and smiles "Desna smiles on those how protect her followers. Thank you for acting so quickly. Many in my parish would have died if it weren't for you." he just shakes his head at Denche "I'm not sure what a...bowyer...is but our blacksmith shop is located on the outskirts of town by the beach. He is a bit of an odd fellow...and likes his privacy. Shops closed now due to the holiday though."

Results of Raks knowledge check:

While goblins have occasionally attacked Sandpoint this was a rather small force...and they seemed to have gotten passed the guards as well. Very strage that such a small force was just walking through town killing.

Treasure found by Rak and Sorin:

On the goblin bodies you find:

7 crude swords known as dogslicers
1 whip
6 sets of leather armor
1 set of studded leather armor
1 potion of cure light wounds
7 short bows with 140 arrows
100 gold
3 half eaten human ears
4 half eaten fingers
a freshly severed foot

Note all weapons and armor found are sized for small creatures.

Rak helps gather the loot found on the goblin corpses, really wishing the arrows were large enough for his bow. "We should see if we can find a buyer for these items; someone might find them useful." He separates out a potion and suggests that Sorin carry it. "I think you might want this; you seemed to have gotten the most attention in that battle. It could be useful."

The dog is fighting another large goblin that weilds a very large sword. The goblin is mounted on a rat like creature that some of you might recognize as a goblin dog. Behind the large goblin are three more goblins that are watching their leader fight.

Just before you can intervene the sword comes down and cleaves the dogs head from its body, releasing a deluge of warm blood and viscera as the dogs body collapses in a lifeless, bloody, heap on the ground. The goblin laughs with joy as as his sword separates the dogs head from its body but then notices the party. "Attack the humans" he cries out in common and starts charging towards the party. Feeling a rush of adrenaline, as the half-orc finally manages to stab something, he gets lost in the victorious moment. Alas, his revery is interrupted and his attention to the present swiftly returns as the dog tries to bite him again.

Now for you. he sneers subconsciously.
I need a rule clarification — does moving without leaving the same threat also provoke an AAO? If so, he does a 5-foot step north, otherwise circles tightly around the dog to be opposite of Rak for flanking purposes.

Denche looks at the ugly creature in front of him, searching for weak spots and then deftly slashes at its head.

Noting Denche's position, Rak takes a short 5' step so that he is flanking the goblin dog, then swings in for another attack. This all assumes that Denche doesn't move from his current position. Denche acts before Rak, so if Denche does move, and Rak can still flank with a 5' step, he does. Rak will not move more than 5' to flank, however, as he doesn't want to draw an AoO himself!

Warhammer: 1d20 + 2 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 + 1 + 2 = 22 (+1 Wrath, +2 flanking)
Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 1 = 9 (+1 Wrath)

Moving into a threatened space does not provoke moving THROUGH a threatened space does, if that helps to clerify

A 5' step never draws an AoO: Link "You can move 5 feet in any round when you don't perform any other kind of movement. Taking this 5-foot step never provokes an attack of opportunity. You can't take more than one 5-foot step in a round, and you can't take a 5-foot step in the same round that you move any distance."

Well yeah, but I wanted to make 10-foot move to also get a flanking bonus myself. I was still within the same threat-er's reach and only his. But to me it was not clear if moving within reach farther than a square would provoke an AAO or not. So I take it (let's say) that longer movement requires too much focus to not become exposed and provoke.

Yes that would provoke an attack of opportunity

Another two attacks, if one attack does the trick, move up to flank and strike for the 2nd.

Attack 1: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Confirm: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15

Attack 2: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

damage 1: 1d6 ⇒ 6 multiplied by 2 = 12

@Sorin, how do you know that you need to confirm a crit? Do you add one roll at a time and then edit the post to add the other rolls?
