We can always make them come out, but you're right, if they don't wish to fight, we might as well leave them well enough alone.

Alexander remains poised to throw his shortspear if the frogs move forward or attack.

Round 1: Initiative 20 - Delay

Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Just in case!

Round 1
init: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20

Apparently not enjoying being stared at, the two monstrous frogs take a huge leap to the edge of the water attempt to grab two of you with their long tongues.

attack on Alexander: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Alexander's thrown spear messes up the giant frog's attack and it now has a spear sticking out of it's giant belly.

attack on Andrea: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17

roll to grab Andrea: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25

The other Giant Frog manages a successful hit and then grab of Andrea and she feels the things giant tongue wrap around her waist in preparation for pulling her in.

Hate to rain on your parade, but you dismounted to get your bow out.

will save 2 / Andrea: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 18

Round 1 resolved

Radomir, please choose a new attack since you did dismount and also you can't charge into dangerous terrain anyway.

Eduard casts his spell and successfully Color Sprays one of the Frogs. The other manages to shake off the effects though.

Andrea throws her spear into one of the Frogs.

Round 2

The Giant Frog that had attacked Alexander appears to be blinded and stunned and injured.

The other Giant Frog attempt to draw Andrea into its giant, froggy maw.

Round 2 - Initiative 13

Eduard will move away from the frogs and cast acid splash on the still-functioning frog.

Acid Splash (touch): 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (4) + 2 - 4 = 2
Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 1

Your group manages to put down the one active frog and free Andrea from its tongue.

Given the other frogs condition, you will be able to easily put it down next round as well, so we will handwave that one.

Fire Resist 10 Human Cleric 6,HP 40/40,Init+5F6R4W9,Per10AC18/11/17

Well so much for that. Andrea pokes at the frog. How about we make this the Frog Hop springs? or something else witht he word frog in it.

Male Aasimar Bard (Animal Speaker) 6 , HP 46/46, AC 22 [Touch 16, Flat 17], CMD: 23 Init +4, Perception +0 (60' Darkvision)

Frog Hop Springs, Alexander chuckles, Well, I certainly like it. Shall we poke around and see what we can find? He retrieves his spear from the dead frog and carries on nonchalantly.

male Human Cavalier 6 | HP: 28/59| AC: 25/14/24/23 | Init: +4 | Perc: +11(+13 v surprise)| F:+9 / R: +4 / W: +3 (+4 vs fear/compulsion) | Sentence 4/4 |Circuit:150 mi from keep

My Lord, do you wish to carve up the frog for later?

Looking around the area where the Giant Frogs were, you are able to notice what looks like a bunch of frog eggs just laying there in the water.

You all are also able to find the remains of some travelers who once attempted to soak in the waters here, only to find them occupied. All that is left of them are a pair of skeletons, one set of mw scalemail armor and a mw chain shirt, one short sword and one longsword and 49 gp scattered about the ground near the skeletons.

Male Aasimar Bard (Animal Speaker) 6 , HP 46/46, AC 22 [Touch 16, Flat 17], CMD: 23 Init +4, Perception +0 (60' Darkvision)

Alexander looks over the findings with detect magic before loading them up with the other gear.

Radomir, what do you think? Shall we come back after these frogs hatch and see if they can be trained? Perhaps the Mites will have some insight. Not quite vermin...but they might know a trick or two.

Perhaps kobolds on frog Calvary?

Human Arcanist 6, HP 35/35, AC 12 [T: 11, FF: 11], Per +6, F: +5/R: +5/W: +7, Arcane Reservoir (5/9)

I do like the idea of attempting to train these frogs. If only to see if it can be done. No reason not to experiment with such things.

Eduard looks around, Who can lead to our next destination?

Fire Resist 10 Human Cleric 6,HP 40/40,Init+5F6R4W9,Per10AC18/11/17

We can tell the kobolds about hem.

Andrea pulls out the map so others can check it. So what do we have left?

What spots left on the map?

handle animal: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20 [ooc]i guess that might be a relevant skill to figure out whether frogs could be trained as cavalry[/dice]

Aye milord, they might be trainable. Frogs are stupid creatures, but firm discipline should break them to your purpose. he hefts one of the eggs before quickly putting it back into the water. They will be useful. As mounts or as food.

Just the Northwest parts left

Fire Resist 10 Human Cleric 6,HP 40/40,Init+5F6R4W9,Per10AC18/11/17

Very well, let us finish the NW section of the map.

Male Aasimar Bard (Animal Speaker) 6 , HP 46/46, AC 22 [Touch 16, Flat 17], CMD: 23 Init +4, Perception +0 (60' Darkvision)

Sounds like a plan.

Your group travels up north of the Frog Pond and enjoys a fairly quiet ride through the woods that is marred by the sight of a dead man pinned underneath several logs.

Fire Resist 10 Human Cleric 6,HP 40/40,Init+5F6R4W9,Per10AC18/11/17

Logging accident I suppose.

Male Aasimar Bard (Animal Speaker) 6 , HP 46/46, AC 22 [Touch 16, Flat 17], CMD: 23 Init +4, Perception +0 (60' Darkvision)

Alexander frowns, What's a man doing out here...and what's he doing getting pinned by logs? He dismounts for a closer look. Might as well take a look around.

male Human Cavalier 6 | HP: 28/59| AC: 25/14/24/23 | Init: +4 | Perc: +11(+13 v surprise)| F:+9 / R: +4 / W: +3 (+4 vs fear/compulsion) | Sentence 4/4 |Circuit:150 mi from keep

Andrea keeps watch.

Male Aasimar Bard (Animal Speaker) 6 , HP 46/46, AC 22 [Touch 16, Flat 17], CMD: 23 Init +4, Perception +0 (60' Darkvision)

Fair enough. Alexander draws his sword and approaches. Can't hurt to be on our guard.

male Human Cavalier 6 | HP: 28/59| AC: 25/14/24/23 | Init: +4 | Perc: +11(+13 v surprise)| F:+9 / R: +4 / W: +3 (+4 vs fear/compulsion) | Sentence 4/4 |Circuit:150 mi from keep

Radomir holds his own bardiche at the ready and steps forward ahead of his lord. He is his master's shield and weapon. His blood shall be spilt before his Lord's.

Judging from the cut logs, ropes, pins and trip wires, you are able to figure out that the man was caught in a deadfall trap. Nothing comes up to your group to bother you while you examine the corpse.

Not far from the remains and logs, you will also find a backpack filled with various trapping supplies and a well made (mw) handaxe.

Fire Resist 10 Human Cleric 6,HP 40/40,Init+5F6R4W9,Per10AC18/11/17

Fell into his own trap? Misfortune.

Male Aasimar Bard (Animal Speaker) 6 , HP 46/46, AC 22 [Touch 16, Flat 17], CMD: 23 Init +4, Perception +0 (60' Darkvision)

It appears so. Alexander frowns, Or perhaps someone else set it? Seems rather foolish, but I suppose we've run into a large number of those here in the woods. He tosses the handaxe with the rest of the gear they've recovered. Well, might be best to look around here carefully for more traps. See if we run into someone, or something. And at the very least, find any other traps this person may have set, if he set them himself.

Loot updated! Speaking of, Radomir still needs to take the Studded Leather (or chain shirt if he'd prefer and no one else needs it.) And Eduard, did you want those Bracers? (And wand/scroll for that matter?)

Fire Resist 10 Human Cleric 6,HP 40/40,Init+5F6R4W9,Per10AC18/11/17

Indeed, since he appears to be a trapper checking the area is prudent.

You all do not find anything else in this immediate area and move a bit up to the north to finish mapping.

Spoiler:

Thaliar perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10 (n)
Thaliar: 1d100 ⇒ 3 (y)

As you all travel through the adjacent area, Andrea and Radomir both notice what appear to be several bear traps hidden about the area. Some are even right in the way of the trail that any traveler would take. Eduard and Thaliar aren't as lucky in respects to seeing the traps or just avoiding traps. Both unfortunately walk their mounts right over top of a trap and each of their mounts whinnies in pain as the steel teeth close over their legs.

Eduard and Thaliar, Ride check DC 15 or be thrown from your horse.

Fire Resist 10 Human Cleric 6,HP 40/40,Init+5F6R4W9,Per10AC18/11/17

Oh dear. Andrea gets out her wand of healing to heal the horses

Male Aasimar Bard (Animal Speaker) 6 , HP 46/46, AC 22 [Touch 16, Flat 17], CMD: 23 Init +4, Perception +0 (60' Darkvision)

Fine right here

Aye, my lord, I am unharmed Once the horses are tended to, Radomir will stand watch. He has no skill with traps, and knows that his betters are probably the ones who are more suited to the task of dismantling them. Unless survival somehow counts

Fire Resist 10 Human Cleric 6,HP 40/40,Init+5F6R4W9,Per10AC18/11/17

Will we be taking these traps? Disarming them seems prudent.

male Human Cavalier 6 | HP: 28/59| AC: 25/14/24/23 | Init: +4 | Perc: +11(+13 v surprise)| F:+9 / R: +4 / W: +3 (+4 vs fear/compulsion) | Sentence 4/4 |Circuit:150 mi from keep

I have no skill in these things.

Fire Resist 10 Human Cleric 6,HP 40/40,Init+5F6R4W9,Per10AC18/11/17

Well we can trigger them by using a big stick so we can prevent them from hurting the horses at least. Andrea will get a stick and trigger any that are around.

Male Aasimar Bard (Animal Speaker) 6 , HP 46/46, AC 22 [Touch 16, Flat 17], CMD: 23 Init +4, Perception +0 (60' Darkvision)

Eduard? Thaliar?

A stick will be successful at triggering any traps. As long as you aren't standing in them, you will be fine. The wand will heal both of the horses back up to full health, though they seem a bit skittish while in the area.

Human Arcanist 6, HP 35/35, AC 12 [T: 11, FF: 11], Per +6, F: +5/R: +5/W: +7, Arcane Reservoir (5/9)

I'm alright. Maybe there are more kobolds about. Or something even more unpleasant.

ell I guess we can continue then, there shouldn't be much left to map.
