Great game in the beginning - nice group of players. Unfortunately, a couple went MIA and I had to close the game down before I wanted to. I was looking forward to a much longer game and eventually a campaign.

Of course. Anything for you, sir. I've seen you looking at her.

Lets all line ourselves up on the ledge as Alanthian moves the statue.
Wall........................Busty Babe.............
Ledge ..Thorin...Catila....Alanthian....Cole ...Saoirse...
1st Step....... ..... Brankh ( at the edge or on the step)

does that make sense?

Male Mountain man Woodsman/6

Since Alanthian disabled the trap, the statue does not shock him when he pushes on it...and easily slides it to the side. When he touches it, a door-sized section of the wall behind him briefly lights up, revealing the outline of the door.

Group Post 13: The Beautiful Ones

Alanthian does his "job" and finds the opening for the secret door, which opens inward to reveal the following scene:

While this crypt has the dusty, disused air of the ossuary's other catacombs, the bodies interred within it are remarkably free from the ravages of old age and decay. Their burial garments have long since rotted away, but the cadavers look as if they could have been placed in their niches only yesterday. Unfortunately, this amazing effect is somewhat overshadowed by the lewd and graphic positions the bodies have been placed in.

Please feel free to use your imaginations on how the bodies are...arranged. :D

Thorin scans the room, taking in the lewd picture. I'd take care not to touch those bodies. Wouldn't want anything springing to life,' He glances down at one particularly attractive female and continues "well, maybe just this one we can touch."

Thorin then waits for his companions to finish their cursory investigation of the room, his sword in hand, ready to spring on anything that moves without permission.

Female Gnome Bard (Detective)/ 5

Ha, looks like Branh should be the detective! ; ) Great job guys. DM, with Catila's last roll of 18 plus her +3 Mod for history, that would give her 21 in total. So what's her prize?

Earlier
More and more impressed with the wisdom of Brankh Catila nods her head and then her face lights up as something clicks and she suddenly realizes who all the statues are. In a singsong voice she proceeds to share all her realizations with her companions.

Now
Price! Nice : )

As they move into the new room even the scientificly minded Dr. is...impressed...by the imagination of those who made this room. Naturally scanning the room for magic, she also looks to the jewels, to see if any of them appear to be of significant value. She also consults with Alanthain his opinion, having the sense that the multi-talented young man would know about such things.
Appraise:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23

Male Mountain man Woodsman/6

Earlier
Catila finally "sees the light" and begins ticking off names for the statues, starting with the one that shocked Cole:

- a beautiful woman with wild hair, holding a ranseur = Alaznist, Runelord of Wrath

- a voluptuous, nude woman wielding a two-headed guisarme = Sorshen, Runelord of Lust

- a short, smiling man holding a longspear = Krune, Runelord of Sloth

- an obese man with rotting flesh, wielding a scythe = Zutha, Runelord of Gluttony

- a handsome, bearded man in extravagant clothes, wielding a lucerne hammer = Xanderghul, Runelord of Pride

- an imperious, heavyset woman holding a mirror and a halberd = Belimarius, Runelord of Envy

- a tall woman with three faces looking in three different directions. One side has a kind face and cradles a baby in her arms, while a second side displays a more stern expression and holds an hourglass. The third face has a crazed look; its hands are empty, but thornless roses twine up both arms. Unlike the others, this statue is carved from dark diorite. This is an archaic representation of Pharasma in her three aspects: the midwife, the reaper, and the prophet.

- a tall man with gems set in his forehead, wielding a flaming glaive = Karzoug, Runelord of Greed

Now
Looking inside the crypt dedicated to Sorshen, Catila notes with interest that the jewelry bedecking the nude dead is quite fetching and appears to be worth several hundred gold pieces.

Cole shakes his head on hearing about the various Runelords recited by Catila, as the names meant nothing to him.

Once Catila ppoints out the value of the jewelry, he glances towards the bodies and nods slowly to her, "It should be all right, these bodies do not have any necromantic taint to them."

He glances towards the rear of the crypt, "There might be another hidden door back there as well."

Male Mountain man Woodsman/6

So...anybody going in to check things out, or do you want to move on to another statue?

Brankh moves to the back of the crypt, prodding with his spear. Does he hear anything unusual? Can he find another back door like the one in the last crypt?

Brankh prods and looks and finds nothing. Nor does he hear anything but silence among the arranged and preserved bodies.

If anyone else searches, they find nothing either. The room is like it was described - bunch of naked bodies arranged in erotic, sexual positions.

Thorin will chance it, and reach down and touch one of the bodies.

Female Gnome Bard (Detective)/ 5

Thinking purely intellectually Catila says to all "If no one objects, I am quite sure that we would benefit much more from this jewelery than would the earthly remains of these beings here. It seems illogical to leave this wealth here for the dead when the living can put it to use, yes?"

Looking around to her companions, she will, if none object, take the jewelery, taking care not to molest the bodies in the process. She will note in her journal the perceived value of the items so as to be able to share fairly with the others later on.

Once done she says "So who next then? Wrath or Sloth?"

"Umm, actually Catila, we came from the statue you said was the Wrath Runelord." Cole eyes the statue of the Runelord Alaznist distrustfully. "Maybe we should check out the Sloth statue, how bad could it be?"

Male Mountain man Woodsman/6

Thorin touches one of the bodies and is surprised to feel that the flesh is not icy cold, but rather lukewarm and supple. What exactly did you touch? :)

Catila gathers a lot of jewelry - about 400 gold worth - and then the group moves on to the next statue as suggested by Cole > the statue of Sloth. Assuming this is okay with the rest of the group...

Alanthian again disables the trap and slides the statue aside. The door briefly outlines and he is quickly able to find the opening mechanism. The door opens into the darkened crypt which has seven alcoves - in the alcoves are niches with entombed bodies. Your light source also reveals what appears to be three squat stalagmites in the middle of the tunnel. All is quiet...

Earlier, Brankh caught Catila as she sheepishly gathered jewelry from the corpses. He replied to her glances superciliously,

Were this a hallowed grave the theft would be an offense to my Goddess on High. But this is no hallowed grave to my eyes. It represents rather the fane of a degenerate and heretical sect. I take no offense in your pilfering. Nor do I share in the looting of these rude baubles. You may eventually feel the need however, to expiate your sinful feelings with a donation to the Church of the Dawnflower.

Brankh is not necessarily well versed in the finer points of Church dogma. lol

Cole peers into the crypt, and immediately his attention is drawn to the stalagmites inside.

He asks softly, "What do you make of those stalagmites?"

He gets his answer when Brankh steps inside the crypt and approaches the first one. The closer the priest gets, the more the "stalagmite" begins to change - going from looking like a piece of the underground environment to a congealed mass of liquid flesh!

The other two "stalagmites" change as well and almost in an instant, a roiling wave of flesh gushes forward. Amid the fatty surge, wriggle half-formed limbs and dripping tumorous faces!
