when you walk through,....
You enter into the tree at cd 40-41....pick a place next to it.....
the red thing in the middle is a huge ass demon or devil,...black skin,....horns,.....big ass spear or polearm;.....
he's in a pool of water with 3 succubi, and 3 succubi dance for him on the little path. The black squares on the path are statues. on the three with an i are imps, with instruments playing for the dancing succubi,......flute, and lute, and drums.
The brown is trees; the green is copious overgrown shrubbery; there is adequate hiding place everywhere as the whole area is bushy and unkempt.
The ceiling is domed, 100 feet tall, and is painted like blue sky, and there is an artifical lightsource approximating the sun's light on the actual dome.
And above the imp's lecherous cacophony you can hear the cries of tropical birds, or whatever approximates birds from what ever world the creature came.....

right on.
Beldan's easily able to find some shrub or bush or stand of high grass to hide in.
Though the stand of tallish flowers that look like giant snapdragons, and seem to be pointing all of their blossoms towards him in serpent necked fervence is a bit disconcerting.

Since everyone's through...
"That's a horned devil," Altai mutters. "Has all the wit and charm of a cobblestone in the face, and the strength and toughness to back it up."
"Oh. So,... We introduce urseves in deh ushul way den?"
I'm back. I like my new Iphone, but WHY in the name of all the gaming gods and goddesses would anyone ever want to watch a movie or tv show on such a tiny @$$ screen?!? ;P

Any chance of perceiving it clearer?

Pip:
Beldan just sees something moving.
I'll start the adjudication of this dealyo tomorrow night; I got no sleep last night and had a real stressful day, so I'm totally drained.
dungeonmaster heathy
Two massive creatures, catlike, sleek like cheetahs, but huge, burst from the cover of underbrush; they're 6 legged, with two long tentacles,.......and they're blurry.........
displacer beasts. Huge.........
The one at BCD 36-38 Bel and Pip saw; the other one was too sneaksy.
Pip and Bel can attack the first one.....
The first beast charged Stiggy and bit the dwarf; 10 h.p. damage;
The other one charged Elgan; who takes 8 h.p. damage.....
Pip and Beldan have a free attack on the first displacer beast, which is flat footed to them, and then it's initiative.
Beldan Vale
“Whoa!” Beldan thrusts his blade out towards the enormous cat almost by reflex.
Keen Icy Burst Rapier: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (10) + 18 = 28 Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 plus 7d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 3, 6, 3, 1, 1) = 25 sneak attack plus 7 bleed plus 2 strength plus 1d6 ⇒ 2 cold ... if it hits. Miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 17, low misses.

Beldan....tries to time it, and he thinks he stabs it in the heart. He thinks wrong......the thing is a complete blur; it roars horridly, and an eye as serpentine as it is feline makes a sharp pupil Beldan's way.
An eye that is in about 12 different places at once; like an electron in an orbit......
dungeonmaster heathy
"OW! Whut the?!?,..." Elgan cleverly quips as the beast strikes swiftly.
"Huh. Yer purty quick fer a kitty. Lez dance sum moh." He challenges the beast, matching it's glare, (even if the eyes won't quite stay put.)
Its roar is rancor, and its tentacles cock up high, like twin serpents readying to strike....
Elgan Dreadwood
Elgan grins a grin only an elf can manage. The he SHIFTS, growing to tower even over the large displacer beast. He ends up in tree-form. He shakes his branches, and they burst into flames, trailing electric sparks.
"BAAAAAD KIIITYYY!!!" He rumbles in stentorian tones.

Pip begins singing a tune
This round setting up the +3 ATK/DAM/CHARM/FEAR effect with sword.
"Well I don't know where they come from, but they sure do come
I hope they're coming for me
And I don't know how they do it, but they do it real good
I hope they do it for free"
Beldan Vale
“Stupid cat,” comments Beldan, before attacking again.
Full hasted attack at the displacer beast.
#1: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (2) + 21 = 23 Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 plus 7d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 4, 2, 6, 5, 4) = 24 sneak attack plus 1d6 ⇒ 6 cold. Miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 43

First successful hit also does 7 points of bleed and 2 points of strength damage.
dungeonmaster heathy
Group's roll for initiative; unless you get a 1, it's group's attack I reckon.
Beldan's secont hit is the only one that can connect on the magically blurry thing.
you said low misses before;....
so it takes 41 in damage and 2 in strength from the rogue's stabbing steel.
The hissing beast screams.......and even its screeching vibrates and sussurusses.
Beldan Vale
Yep, low misses unfortunately! Seems to make more sense that way.
If attack 2 hit, it should take 29 points of piercing damage, 5 points of cold damage, 7 points of bleed (hit point) damage and 2 points of strength damage – minus of course any resistances or damage reduction.
