1) No kidlets for me.
2) One a day or so is fine, I wouldn't worry about it at all. If it becomes a hassle for you, though, that's different.
@Silx: Thanks, I've been glad to get Caylen out of her shell and closer to actually acting as high as her Charisma really is. I like to think of it as an analogy to something catching fire. It starts out small, some smoke and a little heat, then gradually the flames get brighter and hotter and taller.
Not sure what that says about her longevity, though.

As the group approached the work shops / overheard the first group of orcs Wuther began to have a coughing fit. Durra is tending to him. I'll double check as I may have mistyped Rema. Rema is with the group. So basically it's Durra, Wuther, and Peter that are in the stable.

Anything useful on the downed/sleeping orcs that can be put to good use by us? In other words...loot the bodies :) if its just falchions and armor, then I suggest we put all in one of our bag and either leave it with Wuther and Durra or hide it somewhere safe so if the remaining ones come then they won't have easy access to their taken goods.
What does everybody think?

Each orc is wearing studded leather armor and carrying a falchion. Among them you also find 4 javelins. There is one orc on the temple steps that has a masterwork heavy crossbow and quiver with five bolts.
As for the rest, you'll have to chat with Groshnodok :-)

me personally, view a heavy crossbow as a shoot once then wade into melee. I just can't justify using a full round action to reload the damn thing lol...unless I specifically build for rapid reload and other such feats. Shall we give it to Silx, the baddies will know he's there? *wink*
So if counting correctly, that would be 7 armor, 7 falchion, and 7 spears...lets just make a giant pile of it for now...onto making more allies :)

Wuther's death and decision to pass on the title to the temple and its grounds opens up some options. I'm going to give a rough outline here, but keep in mind I don't want to give to much away.
- The temple and surrounding areas will effectively be under the control of the PCs.
- The PCs will have the option to put trusted allies in charge of governing the area if they wish to leave the area.
- I will be using the Book of the River Nations for the kingdom building rules.
- You all can be as involved as you wish in the development of the area if/when the claim is recognized.
- Likewise, the campaign can continue without PCs being directly involved in the area (allied NPCs would take over).

Timing wise I'd been thinking about Ultimate Campaign, but I just wasn't sure how quickly we'd get to this option in the campaign. I imagine that the rules will be fairly compatible so I'll put up a wish list later today. I appreciate the offer.
I've done some of the work for the surrounding nations already using a combination the River Nations book and short articles in Wayfinder so my aim would be to keep the work I have done and use whatever rules that overlap / compliment / add to the bits I've already worked out.
I'd also be interested in hearing what everyone is thinking about nation building. How much would you all want to be involved? This would be something we could handle on an individual basis so I can accommodate everything from very involved leaders to a PC that simple gets status reports from a trusted NPC periodically.

I've always wanted to play in a campaign focused around that set-up, so I personally would be super happy to be involved in it. I ran Kingmaker a while back and thought it would be a lot of fun to participate in something similar.
With Caylen seeming to gravitate more towards a leadership position thanks to her interactions with the party, I think it could go pretty well, too.

For sure. Shayne and any others that prefer not to do the kingdom building will have the same game play that we have now. Kingdom building activities, for those that are interested, will be run primarily via PMs.
Occasionally kingdom stuff will be a part of role-play, but the focus for the campaign will remain on the group and their adventures.

I am good with both. I think the PM idea for the indomitable buildings works well so those that want to can add input on it, without it dragging the adventuring down. Either way I am good with whatever the group decides. And great job so far DM, I am pleased with the campaign thus far and look forward to the future.

I too have enjoyed the campaign. I'd had some rough times keeping groups going, as I was afraid would happen early on with this campaign.
The honest and insightful feedback provided really helped turn things around. I'm very excited to find out where you all steer things.

Some quick things.
1) My son decided that he would use his plastic drill to 'fix' my wife's computer. It turns out plastic drills and lcd screens don't get along so well. So we're down a computer, which means I can't check in quite as often. Hope to have a tech fixing session this week (the iPad needs some attention too - lol).
2) Updated the wish list I put up for the game.
3) I only teach one class during summer session so it'll be a pretty easy time. Fall (mid August) will be busy with four classes, but with the slower pace the game has taken I have no worries about keeping it up (even once a day is fine by me).

Almost out of options for combat with Caylen for the day. She has one spell left and no more channel energies. I think, if there's no more orcs to hunt down, we may need to stop and recuperate soon, or otherwise just ensure Caylen stays in the back and out of danger. We've been going at it pretty hard since we arrived at the temple.
I'm still not entirely sure what happened to T'fkr either. I get that he had some kind of weird potion mishap(?) but I've been trying to puzzle out what that means and what it implies for our search f the temple. Do we have a head count of any known NPCs left undiscovered down here?
If we're not trying t catch up to anyone (and if the unconscious Orc really is T'fkr) we may have more time to spare.

Sorry I have been absent.
My "Summer break week" and the start of Summer term were quite busy, and to compound that my older son discovered RPGs. We visited Free RPG Day at our local game store and he participated in a We Be Goblins Too! adventure from noon until almost 6pm. Now he wants to play my Narrative Adventures Made Easy constantly.
I am not sure whether I should continue playing Shayne or retire from this delightful campaign. I have been postponing the decision until I was not so wearily exhausted--a criteria not yet achieved.

No departure for my sake, please.
During the past two weeks I've caught up on errands: prep work for starting a new community college term, empty and refill spa, yard work, visit aquarium with family, car appointment, kid doctor check-up, fixing a tax error and paying quarterly taxes, house exterior painting estimates, plumber to reseal toilet to floor, pick a new laptop to replace my breaking netbook, and other stuff.
I taught myself enough Javascript to give my math students an infinite number of practice tests.
I found time today to plan out summer events for my kids through July, so I know when to make plans for more play-dates.
There is no time like the present! Let's finish up this temple cleansing!

Fine time indeed. I meant to check in before I left, but figured there was plenty opening for others to chime in.
I know we're not aiming for 1 post per day, but I do think I need to set some guide lines.
My apologies for not putting out clear posting guidelines earlier.
So once / week OR 3 / week? What works for you all?
| Caylen Etrian |
As long as I'm not the only one posting I can do whatever. It's hard to just plow ahead without everyone else's input and stuff.
Also, just a general heads-up, for the month of August I won't have much weekend posting time. I'm in crunch-time on a Pathfinder project that needs to be done at month end and packing/preparing to move at the beginning of Sept (provided the apartment is ready and it doesn't get pushed back again x_x).
Just wanted to give everyone a heads-up on that! :)
