Hey guys, just a heads up: December is shaping up to be a real bear at my office as law firms get in their billing in advance the end of the fiscal year, so I've been pulling overtime and generally working harder than usual. As such I've been pretty burned out when I get home so I may miss a day or two of posting here and there up through New Years. Please bear with me and any slowness to respond to stuff.

Bit of a delay, but below I've listed the contents of treasure found in the main treasury of the temple. Also, for reference here is the group items spreadsheet.
The main treasury contains five chests each holding 250 gp in coins (minted on one side with the symbol of the golden eye and on the other with the head of a former high priest), a gilded statue of a stallion worth 200 gp (but weighing 60 pounds), a map of the kingdom in ancient times (50 gp to an interested party), two masterwork longswords (150 gp each), and a suit of gilded scale mail (normal AC bonus but weighs 15 pounds more; worth 1,000 gp)

Really glad you all made it through the holidays safely. @Silx Really thrilled that your getting into your character.
You've all been great sticking with the game through the ups and downs. I'm really enjoying it and have much of the campaign fleshed out. Please let me know if there are things that you'd find helpful. So far the things I've thought of:
- Tactical maps
- General Geography (explored areas)
- NPC reference
- Campaign summary
Some of these I've mentioned, but haven't gotten set. My teaching schedule will be set by the 9th, so I should have a clear sense of my available time. Then I can sit down and get some of this going.

No kidding. Couldn't we all use some extra time in the day.
Also, I totally didn't realize until I was going through the campaign thread for relevant links that the thread has been going since October 15th of 2012. Crazy. Silx and Aak have been with it since the beginning and Caylen joined not long after. Anyhow, thought that was pretty cool.

So I'm thinking the following rogue talent makes sense: quick trapsmith
I stumbled on to this thread while I was looking for info. on traps.
I'm thinking we'll have to sort this out a bit. I did find caltrop burst (scroll down a bit). We could use this as a working template for what you have in mind.

This link should work. What sort of appearance do you have in mind?
Update:
I've done some looking at items with serrated edges and am going to rule that the bladed components of such a trap would cost 75 to 150 gp, plus the standard cost for commissioning a masterwork weapon (300 gp). Parts commissioned in this way would confer the standard +1 attack bonus to the trap. Regionally, the commonality of such a trap varies. In areas where such traps are used commonly by hunters the cost of commissioning parts would not apply (nor would the bonus).

So the spikes would spring up versus clamping from the sides? (be sure to read my update).
Agreed, much more expensive than makes sense - especially considering the cost of weapons. My guess is that it's to keep players from using large amounts of inexpensive traps to easily damage enemies while being free of danger.

So by the standard rules a bear trap would cost 1,000 gp. The stake trap would cost 500 gp by the same rules. Keep in mind that if you're crafting the traps you only pay 1/3 of this cost (see here); 334 gp for a bear trap and 167 gp for a spike trap.
Depending on the trap you could reduce time to craft by purchasing parts, which could increase costs. Either way, costs would be less than just purchasing a trap that has already been built.
I'll take a look at 3rd party stuff to see if there are some more flexible rules for traps. Otherwise, I'll spend some time tweaking.

Seeing a couple different pdfs that address traps to some extent, but can't swing cost at the moment. For now let's use what I posted earlier - which I've condensed below.
For simple traps (CR 1 or less) I am going to rule that parts cost no more than 1/4, rather than 1/3. So for the bear trap I'd say no more than 150 gp for parts (75 to 150 gp). Parts for the stake trap would be no more than 125 gp (20 gp to 125 gp).
The thing to keep in mind here is that this range in cost of parts includes mechanical parts that are more difficult to make with the level of technology assumed in Pathfinder. In our campaign there are areas where such technology is more easily (and inexpensively made). Think of it this way. I can go buy a watch for $1, but in Pathfinder a pocket watch costs nearly as much as a masterwork dagger (250 gp).

Another option to consider. These simple traps can be fashioned from wood for a fraction of the cost. Beyond rope or twine, wood is freely available. Survival, knowledge (nature), and even craft (traps) to an extent could be used to gather wood that offers the right type of attributes. These types of traps would have the fragile attribute and likely suffer penalties to disable / strength checks for purposes of escaping from a trap. They'd likely offer bonuses to kept from being discovered in their native forest areas and penalties in other areas.
These are all initial thoghts. I'll see what rules I can find as further guidance.

Certain things about traps, particularly spring based traps (like bear traps) would be far more expensive in a pre-industrial world where making the needed parts are much more difficult.
So, despite being cheap nowadays, they would be quite expensive in medieval world.
lol, I had to add "pre-industrial" to my dictionary, but the dictionary already had "pee-industrial" and "per-industrial." Who would put those in the default dictionary?

A good craft (trapsmithing) check can also make bear traps (if this hasn't been mentioned already). They're ruthlessly effective at low levels.

Also, it occurs to me that Triela could also benefit from the robe that Caylen identified. I know the group found it before she joined, but I figured it would be fair to see if there was any other interest in it before just assuming Caylen would take it.
For record it is a mnemonic vestment.

Also, I made some changes to the base item so be sure to use the item description provided in the game thread (provided below for easy reference), namely that scrolls used via the garment are expended.
If the wearer is a spontaneous caster, once per day she may cast a spell from a written source (such as a scroll or spellbook) as if she knew that spell. The spell must be on her spell list, the same spell level or lower than the expended spell slot, and the same type of spell (arcane or divine) as the spell slot expended. The caster must also understand the written source (such as using Spellcraft or read magic) and be carrying it (one scroll may be held in each of the robe's pockets). Activating the robe is not an action, but casting the spell otherwise works as normal, including casting time, providing components or foci, and other requirements for normally using a scroll. Using a mnemonic vestment’s properties expends a scroll, but not a spellbook.

Yeah I might need a little GMPCing for the next week or so due to the added workload I've got right now plus RPG Superstar. I'm hoping to make a post tomorrow, but I'm not sure if I'll have time.
Also, if you guys gets a chance come Tuesday, swing on over to the RPG Superstar section of the site to vote on the monster round :)
