Mosi the Wanderer |
Hello! Don't mind Mosi. He is here for another mission.
Thank you for the Invite! (Papasteve08 here from the Flaxseed thread)
Edit - Still have to get my bbcode from hero lab for this guy. I'll get it up as soon as reasonable so you can review it GM.
GM Chyro |
There was a vanara monk in my outpost game as well.
Is yours a tripmonkey (pun kinda intended) too?
Mosi the Wanderer |
Crap... He will be eventually, that was the plan anyways.
Now I might have to reconsider before I get any further into the build....
Athalis Faerahrn |
Athalis here! Though I'm now thinking I'll go with another character instead of my magus. I'll see what folks are settling on before I make up my mind. Will likely be a 1st level character and probably a melee type.
GM Chyro |
So currently we have,
Azora: oracle
Jeskit: blodrager
Mosi: monk
Stiehle: TBD
1/2 seats left.
Balbo Beethair |
I'll have my character sheet up in a couple of days, but Balbo is a halfling Inquisitor (Sacred Huntsmaster). He's an archer riding an Allosaurus animal companion named Slash. Fun stuff!
Balbo Beethair |
Balbo is good to go!
Mosi the Wanderer |
Just have to update my tagline and pretty up the profile formatting, otherwise Mosi is good to go!
Balbo Beethair |
Just a heads-up that I'll be on a week-long vacation beginning tonight. I'm hoping to keep up with my player posts using my smartphone though, so it shouldn't be much of an issue, except that I doubt I'll be posting more than once a day or so.
Mosi the Wanderer |
Still gotta update my tagline.
As for the issue we have in front of us... It seems to me like we need to keep the guards out as long as possible, and see if there are ways we can speed up the cultists in their escape.
GM - the way you described it, speeding up the cultists sounded like it wasn't an option, right?
We can try to bar the door, prevent them from breaking in, or at least slow them down. Getting into a fight, even with non-lethal damage probably still isn't in our best interest. It seems to me that ideally we want to get the cultists out and leave the venture captain with some room to attempt to explain that nothing is going on here.
Balbo Beethair |
I think speeding up the cultists is our job, otherwise it takes them 12 long rounds to get out on their own. At least that's how I'm interpreting the situation.
Barring the door sounds like a really good idea, maybe someone with a high STR?
Jeskit, the cultists are all upstairs by the way, our route will take us down the ladder and then the stairs into the catacombs. I don't think anyone is down there at the moment.
Mosi the Wanderer |
Just had a great idea to help speed the process up a bit. There is a super fun alchemical item that Mosi happens to have called impact foam. Basically you throw it on the ground and it makes a big cushion to jump onto, negating the first d6 of fall damage, and making a second d6 (if necessary) nonlethal instead of lethal. They could literally jump down a floor instead of taking the stairs. That might save a little time anyways.
Mosi will be happy to demonstrate in order to help encourage them to take the leap...
Also, I'm not seeing the link to the map. Sorry if I am missing something.
GM Chyro |
@ Mosi,
They wouldn't have had intention of beating him KO from the start.
Given these are the genuine militia, they'd go along the lines of,
Step 1, get him to open up and question him, if need be take him to HQ for that.
Step 2, if he doesn't comply quickly/suspicious stuff could be heard, break down the door and subdue him for questioning.
I am pretty sure i don't have USA news on my TV, so i don't know about 'as of late news'. But as you put it, it's a recurring thing as of late?
Over here, it's outright silly. Law enforcement has lost respect from the public, if news can be believed. And in the rare case an arrest is slightly firmer than holding by an arm due to resistance, the arrested person gets hyped to be a victim.
Those things aside, its pressing to get the Sarenites away, before things can escalate. ;)
Mosi the Wanderer |
I've been waiting a week to post this... Ugh.

@GM - Please don't take my IC or OOC comments as any critique on you or how you are running the game! You are doing a fantastic job so far, and I am having a blast already.
A lot of my own personality always comes out in my characters, no matter how much I try to make each of them unique. In modern day, kicking someone's door down and attacking them would definitely not be ok. However, this is not modern day. This is a fantasy world where an anthropomorphic monkey can get upset about a militia member knocking someone's door down and attacking them, and get backed up by an anthropomorphic ball of fire and a hobbit riding a dinosaur.
Pretty sure if we are all ok with that, then we can handle an aggressive militia member. ha!
I love it. It's been a while since I've immersed myself in this much PbP (got a handful of characters playing simultaneously for Gameday VII) and I am in heaven. GM and players at this table, you are all great.
Now let's roll these thugs. And the VC is probably going to have to lay low for a little while after we beat feet and get the heck out of dodge here... *eek* Oh well!
Mosi the Wanderer |
Oh man this site... Hopefully it is back up to stay. The extended downtime really kills PbP momentum.
GM Chyro |
*Glares at the goblins and spacerat*
Mosi, when you have the chance, could you edit your header to display your stats please.
Mosi the Wanderer |
Oh shoot! I'm sorry! All over it...
Edit: Aaaaand Done. Sorry for the delay on that.
Can I blame the website issues? I'm going to. You don't have to believe it though... :)
GM Chyro |
We can all blame the goblins and space-rat to our hearts' content. :)
If that rat can ride a motorcycle, we can even say Biker Rodents wrecked our fun.
GM Chyro |
?
Is it on nat 20s this time, i think i recall at times those wouldn't be it.
Mosi the Wanderer |
Are we doing boon rolls? I've never had any luck. *crosses fingers*
Boon: 1d20 ⇒ 3
Edit: *sadtrombonedotgif*
GM Chyro |
To answer Mosi's question,
I, like the games i've played in, do boon rolls at the mission's conclusion.
I don't even know what the player boons will be.
Jeskit Thersis |
my other games were doing it and i wanted to make sure you had it is all.
Chyro you would have received an email from HMM at the start of the gameday event with instructions for boons.
GM Chyro |
There's quite some additional stuff flooding my inbox, so it's easily lost between. Time for a recheck i guess.
GM Chyro |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Nuclear sequence initiated!!!!
RUN!!!!!!
:P
GM Chyro |
Azora, i see you made a cone, but we're talking about where Akkurat and you were at the time of posting, Akkurat being NW of Mosi. (indicated by white clone)
From your position then, due east from Akkurat, a burning hands harms Mosi as well, as a diagonal one aimed NW would miss Akkurat.
Azora |
The cone would have hit Akkuarat at his prior location AND miss Mosi (as I counted all that off before I decided to cast the spell). Again, looks like we are going to have to agree to disagree on this one and simply move on. I will just have to place my own AoE's in the future to avoid confusion.
Asterion Stargard |
You can get rid of the dirty trick blindness by spending a standard action gm should be informing the players of this rather than letting them be blind
GM Chyro |
I would assume everyone ran into dirty tricks in a game at some point, and would be somewhat familiar with dealing with it.
Also, fwiw, it is a move action to rid yourselves of it, instead of a standard, reading back on it again.
Asterion Stargard |
Not really I've not used em or had em used before...
and I read the part at the end not realising they put the counter to greater dirty trick at the end which is a dtandard action.
Asterion Stargard |
Reading Dirty trick again.. it's a standard action, whereas you seemed to be using it as an aoo and it provokes
Three of us got hit afaik an aoo cannot be used to perform a standard action.
