Looks like we've got a full table then! Kenza, as for what is different in specials, I'd say the main thing is the pace. In order to stay on track, we really need everyone to post once a day, and I will bot mercilessly if you aren't able to do that (at least when we are on schedule or behind - I'll ease up if we're ahead). I'll be running block initiative to make it easier (ie, I'll block enemies where it makes sense. If there is one big bad evil demon, and a handful of cannon fodder, I'll just run the demon on one initiative, and the fodder on another, and allow you folks to post whenever you want once your 'block' is up, and resolve actions in post order.
I look forward to running for all of you! And nice to see Kahwen made it back to dry land after his adventure in the Gloomspires. :D

![]() |

Awesome! Thanks!

![]() |

Kahwen bows low. "It is nice to be away from it unpleasant hosts. You've look different since I last saw you Friend Kyra. You are much larger and...scaly... Did you change your hair?"

![]() |

Sorry, GM. It looks like you linked to another game thread. Is that intentional? I have not played a game with multiple gameplay threads, so just making sure.

oh weird. it's not you. an interloper? i'm confused :)

GM_Yogadragon |

Are you talking about shifty's post as Sheila heidmarch? For specials, there is an Overseer Gm who keeps all the tables on track and makes announcements and whatnot. I'll be running most of it. Shifty will pop in periodically.

![]() |

ahhhhhh thank you. then the gameplay thread that was linked to is for cross-group gameplay in character? first pbp special for me.

GM_Yogadragon |

Correct. For the moment, you guys are free to do in character introductions and do general strategizing, maybe ask some questions. Things will really get going tomorrow.

GM_Yogadragon |

Hey all,
We're just waiting for the next Overseer announcement to move us along. It should come soon. I've linked to the slides for this mod above (below my forum name). Please go there and fill out a line for your initiative modifier and perception modifier for ease of DM rolling.

Sorry guys mixed up games, as this one was still showing on my user bord of games.
I will not be posting again.
Sorry for the mix up.

Once you have received your briefing, Sheila gives you a strong box containing a portion of the deposit. You make your way to the Cathedral of Abadar. Upon your arrival, you witness a steady stream of guests ascending the stairs and entering the cathedral’s main sanctuary, where the viewing is being held. Rows of temple warriors wearing white tabards stitched with the golden key of Abadar flank the main entrance. Their hands clenched tightly around their gleaming swords as they stand almost motionless, ever-vigilant stares upon their faces.
As you enter, various low-level priests invite you to partake in food and beverages while you mingle about. You decide to deposit your funds first. One of the acolytes directs you to Proctor Jyronn Imikar, a pleasant Osirian priest who runs the temple. Imikar accepts your deposit and writes something in his ledger. You wouldn’t be proper pathfinders if you did not use the opportunity to attempt to see some of the writing. After a moment Proctor Imikar closes the book ”Thank you for entering the auction, will you also thank madam Heidmarch on my behalf?”
Jeskit: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Kenza: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Kahwen: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
Taizen: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
Merril: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Kalangkang: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
You managed to spot the following in the ledger:
Maiveer Sloan representing the Aspis Consortium
Doctor Ernst Landis representing the Museum of Ages
Zimandi Kaddren

After depositing the funds you take a drink and something to eat. A squat man in white robes steps upon the cathedral dais to address the room. Introducing himself as the sexton of Magnimar’s High Cathedral of Abadar, he greets his guests with a broad, welcoming smile. “Good evening, friends! I’m pleased to see so many of our distinguished and honored guests could attend. For those of you not fortunate enough to have participated in our pre-auction festivities, please feel free to take part in all the luxuries and wonders within these halls. And with my welcome, I have the pleasure unveiling the auction’s feature lot. Enjoy!”
With the utterance of the final word he pulls aside the veil, displaying a gigantic key. It stands roughly three feet tall and is made of stone etched with glowing arcane symbols. The crowd applauds and people turn back to their companions to discuss the key. The crowd is an eclectic mix of landholders, merchants, and other notable figures from all over Varisia, wide-eyed and curious to glimpse the mysterious Runecarved Key. Hired servants weave through the crowd bearing luxurious platters of fruits, sweetbreads, and oysters or trays topped with crystal goblets of heady red wine. Guests mingle slowly, socializing amicably but cautiously with longtime acquaintances, as they feel out potential competitors.
At this time, you can attempt to scope the crowd to try to deduce who are the society’s most serious competitors. You can attempt a Diplomacy or Knowledge (Local or Nobility) check to find a specific individual or attempt a Diplomacy, Knowledge (Local or Nobility), Perception or Sense Motive check to give a more generic description of the type of person you seek. Finally, in your next post please let me know the location of your wayfinder, and if you have any other identifying marks that would obviously indicate you are a Pathfinder.

Why is this post put under discussion?

![]() |

Hey everyone..there's a maintenance going on with our ISP in our area and I can not post consistently atm..please feel free to bot. Might be ok in a couple of days

GM_Yogadragon |

It's time for everyone's favorite part of a convention: boons! I'm going to roll for everyone, using the template laid out by our benevolent lead GM, Shifty, which is basically just alphabetical order. On a roll of a 1 or a 20, you get a boon!
GM: 1d20 ⇒ 8
Jeskit: 1d20 ⇒ 17
Kahwen: 1d20 ⇒ 1
Kalangkang: 1d20 ⇒ 14
Kenza: 1d20 ⇒ 9
Merrill: 1d20 ⇒ 4
Taizen: 1d20 ⇒ 8
Kahwen gets rewarded for all the beatings he's taken with a boon!
1dd: 1d3 ⇒ 1

![]() |

Is this special going to be done before outpost? I assumed it was. Just curious if I should plan on playing someone other than Kenza in a scenario I signed her up for.

GM_Yogadragon |

Yea, we're about done. I think there are 48 hours left from the end? There is another section after this that is mostly optional, but I doubt you'll get to that at this point... killing the assassin and getting the key is the main objective at this point.

![]() |

Cool! Just checking. I felt like we were nearing the end, especially with us all dying horribly, but was making sure.
I've never played in a special before. So it's been a fun experience!

GM_Yogadragon |

Hey! No one has died horribly! Yet...
I am pretty thoroughly amused that Kahwen failed all 6 of the poison saves and ended up with zero strength. There should be some sort of special boon for that.

![]() |

Kahwen has interesting luck. He is going to set a record for how many times downed one of these days.

![]() |

Yeah...he has a nasty habit of getting in close on people who can really hurt him. And then getting really hurt...he's been within 1 round of being fully dead at least once.
Ironically enough, he never got touched on his first adventure.
And statistically speaking I should have made at least one of those saves. 2 in a row was pretty unlikely but missing all 6 just means I have not properly propitiated the might Dai Shrolla.

![]() |

Tnx guys for that great game!

![]() |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

I liked that we were challenged in every scene. My first multi-table special and it was a really awesome experience. Thank you for the good game!

![]() |

Awesome!
Thanks for a great game, everyone.

![]() |

Yeah, this one definitely had a good mix of combat/social/skill use.
I liked the format for the chase scene at the end.
And all you guys were great to play with!
I'm sure I'll be seeing you guys around the boards.

![]() |

It was definitely challenging in parts. First time I got worried in PbP.

GM_Yogadragon |

Thanks for playing! You were a good group to run for. I'm really glad Kalangkang was finally able to finish of the assassin. It would have been an unsatisfying end for you guys if she got away. I'll get chronicles posted tomorrow probably. I'll get a blank one up today so you can see what the rewards are and whatnot.

![]() |

Great game. Lots of fun. We were on the ropes for a while there!
Question about the point totals. Are low tiers in the running for that stuff?

GM_Yogadragon |

Yea, everyone has about the same chance to win. You accumulated points for how successful you were during all the different parts of the scenario. I do know that making it through all the waves (the part you were going in to when time was called) earns a bunch of points, so not making it through those hurt you guys. I'll try to check the reporting sheet tonight and tell you how many points you had.

![]() |

so you just keep beating up bad guys until time is called? that's awesome. we were not in a position to do that, LOL.
Taking Jeskit into an Outpost game. When do you think chronicles will be ready? no rush :)

GM_Yogadragon |

I put a blank copy of the chronicle up on the combat slides, so you can get your character updated for the Outpost game. I'll put together individual chronicles tonight or tomorrow during lunch.

![]() |

Thanks for chronicles and for GMing!
