Arguing history with someone is a tall, massively build half-orc woman with prominent canines, a freshly cleaned greataxe slung on her back, and wearing a long, body-hugging robe in black velvet with red trim and daggerlike metallic spikes rising from the collar. Her right hand is in a silvery-white, smooth gauntlet and her left hand is in a coarse, black iron gauntlet covered in wicked-looking spikes.
"I'm telling you! Aroden defeated the Licorice Hordes wielding the giant Lollipop of Justice! How could he be our Sweet Hero and not perform such acts of daring?"

![]() |

Scipio is busy throwing dice with a couple of real gems, in the corner. His marks seem to be paying attention to a Half-Orc woman arguing with another patron. He clears his voice and says to his quarry, That one has had, too much drink referring to the Half-Orc. Next she'll be spouting that, the Whispering Tyrant was, only a misunderstood visionary. Scipio waves his hand in the 1/2 Orcs direction dismissively and says to the marks, Shall we get back to the game?

![]() |

A muscular, roughly shaven man stands watching the gamblers. He is clad in a dirty suit of metal armour, covering a set of comfortable cotton clothes. With one of his leather-gloved hands he leans on a long curved scythe, his eyes rapidly moving from dice to gambler.
"Quite a sum he raisin' there, mate. One good roll and yer triplin' yer cache."
But trip once, and you're losing it all.

Fanciful untruths.... Arrogant disdain.... Gambling.... I can never remember if Iomedae would approve. Either way, interesting folks!
The small gnome has been sitting there for a while, since dinner was brought out at least, and probably longer. Resplendent in shiny armor that only barely surpasses the blue of her hair, with a shield nearly as large as she is, she's been quietly observing the activity in the inn. Finishing her dinner, she approaches the half-orc. "You know, Iomedae knew Aroden before he was a dead god. We've never been taught of the conquests you speak of. Perhaps you could tell me more? If this is how it was, I really need to set the record straight! Iomedae cares so much about truth, after all. We really should make it right."

![]() |

"Quite a sum he raisin' there, mate. One good roll and yer triplin' yer cache."
Ah nothing but, a bit of unusual luck! (Scipio lies)
Scipio pretends not to pay attention to the Big man with the pointed stick but, keeps his left hand free to produce a blade if needed. He studies the big man from the corner of his eye, trying to get a feeling if the big man is just a local mercenary watching his game or; a hired Thug, sent to dispense justice, for being more clever than his wealthy marks.
Seemingly satisfied, Scipio relaxes and says to the big man in armor. Perhaps my luck has changed since your arrival, you look like the Ferry man himself, with that reaper's yoke in yer hands. Scipio collects his winnings and gestures towards the game. That'll be all for me today gents....perhaps the big tin man would like to donate some of his hard won coin to your purses? Scipio, smiles at the larger man and raises an eyebrow as if questioning and challenging the man, in the same gesture.

![]() |

Despite the menacing profile she poses, the half-orc's eyes widen with excitement. "Iomedae knew Aroden? Did she lick his Lollipop of Justice? I bet she licked his lollipop!"

![]() |

Phil grins at Scipio, relaxing his grip on the scythe. He sends a hand into one of his pockets, but takes it out again without retrieving anything.
"Nah, I ain't no grim reaper, though life sure'd be easy if I were. I'm just a farm hand-turned-fighter fleein' from the terrors of Galt, and I sadly ain't got nothin' to bet on. Ya seem to have a lucky streak, though. Ya spend a lot of time gamblin'? Make good money?"

![]() |

"Of course Iomedae knew Aroden! They were gods at the same time, silly."
Her attention immediately turns inward. She continues speaking aloud, but clearly to herself. "Or were they? I have such a hard time with timelines. Iomedae ascended in 3000 something? I think? Aroden died in 4000 something. Or was it 3?"
Speaking louder again, it's not easy to tell if she's still just addressing herself, Eveleth, or the room. "No matter; it seems to me that they must have known each other. All the gods do, I'm sure. Or did, as the case may be." She shakes her head. "So sad about Aroden, really. Gods shouldn't die; it's not very godlike. That's why I don't follow Aroden. Well, that and I like Iomedae so much. I'd probably still not follow Aroden if he were still alive. Iomedae is so cool! So stern, and forthright, and honest. I love her!"
Her gaze finally returns to the half-orc in earnest. "But tell me more about this lollypop! There are no stories about Iomedae licking anything, not that I've heard; and I've heard a lot!"

A young, Varisian woman sits nearby, sipping a glass of wine and reading through a Pathfinder Chronicle. She seems more intent on her reading than she does the gambling, or the seemingly touched half-orc. At her feet an intelligent looking cream colored cat with black coloration around all four paws, tail, and muzzle lazily bats at a dangling bootlace. 'These ones will need some serious help with their lore if they are Pathfinders I am to accompany.'

![]() |

A young gnome, hair red as can be and eyes which shimmer emerald dressed impeccably enters into the room and takes a look around. Howdy me boyos and me lasses he says. I am Lukian, wielder of mystical might. he says with a bow.
Seeing another gnome he states
Hello there!
Ny'a's face lights up when another gnome shows up, and she immediately launches into a rapid-fire explosion of words. After you all eat and drink you fill, perhaps some of you wondering why you felt to emboldened as to be drinking just before a sea voyage, but in any case you arrive at the appointed place at the right time.
Water laps steadily at the pier as sailors, laborers, and merchants rush busily around Absalom’s port. The venture-captain’s summons called for a meeting aboard the Sixwing Drake, a sleek sailing ship.
The Drake’s captain, a Varisian woman and fellow Pathfinder named Zarah Zendrani, stands at the helm of her vessel. “It’s not like Valsin to be late,” she mutters, furrowing her brow. As if on cue, a tall and meticulously groomed man pushes his way through the crowd and up the gangplank, cursing audibly. “Whoever supervises this mess of a port needs to be dumped in the sea!” he grumbles. The tall man looks around at those gathered before him. “Just the group I requested. Perfect. I’m Venture-Captain Ambrus Valsin, and I took great care in selecting just the right Pathfinders for this assignment.” Valsin reaches into his belt pouch and withdraws a small, folded paper before continuing.
“A few days ago, I received a curious note from a rather unexpected source. It’s not every day that I get a request from an agent of the Aspis Consortium.” Captain Zendrani’s eyes widen, and Valsin smiles knowingly. “But Magali Delroya does not appear to be your typical Aspis agent. As you surely know, the Aspis Consortium pursues a variety of activities across the Inner Sea that the Pathfinder Society finds abhorrent. It seems that Delroya has been working with them for some time, but can no longer stomach the snakes herself. She wants to stop a shipment of an experimental drug from leaving Diobel later this week. It’s bound for a number of locations across the Inner Sea region. According to Delroya, she can’t ask the local authorities for help, because the Aspis Consortium has already struck a deal with a faction of the Kortos Consortium, a powerful merchant collective. Her hands are tied, so she’s come to us for help. In this note, she outlines three different tasks that would help to disrupt the Aspis long enough for her to move the shipment to a secure location, out of the clutches of the consortium. Once you accomplish two of these tasks, she’s willing to meet with you, but not before."
“Normally, I wouldn’t trust an Aspis agent at any hour of the day. But our sources in Diobel have confirmed the Aspis and Kortos Consortium’s activities. Everything checks out, so we are presented with a unique opportunity. If we help Delroya, we might not only strike a financial blow against the Aspis Consortium, but we could also reveal their dealings with the Kortos Consortium—and possibly prevent their arrangement from turning into a more formal alliance. Furthermore, we hope to stop this drug from spreading across the Inner Sea region, and if we—if all of you—do a good enough job, we might even convince Delroya to join the Society. A turncoat agent would be a valuable asset in our ongoing run-ins with the Aspis Consortium. “Take some time to look over Delroya’s note and the tasks she has set for you. If you have any questions, now is the time to ask. Remember, the Aspis Consortium is a long-time enemy of the society, but the Kortos Consortium, while certainly suspicious, is not our enemy. It is a complex organization with many factions, and we should avoid antagonizing any of them, except when necessary to oppose the Aspis Consortium.”
"You will only have a day, maybe two, to complete your task, so make sure you are prepared before you leave!" Valsin says with intensity.
One K. Local Roll, you may read all spoilers equal to or less than your result.

Knowledge (local), untrained: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (16) + 0 = 16
"Well, I know that there's no formal alliance between Aspis and Kortos, so at least there's that. They can only be working together in a limited capacity. We'll have to do our best to see that alliance doesn't get any closer!" The small gnome seems very excited to be tasked with stopping a drug operation. So many Pathfinder missions skirt the line of what's right; this is clearly on the good side of things; easy for me to contribute my all!

![]() |

Scipio reads the missive from Magali carefully and considers carefully. As for myself, I'm reluctant to expose myself to this dangerous drug..but, how to convince my companions that the first two task presented are the most important? He considers what he knows about the area and the players involved knowledge local: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16 These two groups have worked in this area a long time and never shown any long term ability to work together..therefore it should be a piece of cake to put a wedge between them and end this alliance before it starts.
Suddenly Scipio snaps his fingers and looks up at the rest of his companions as if he'd made a magnificent discovery. Listen, I know I've never worked with any of you before but, please hear me out. Neither of these groups trust each other. Believe me in my former life before the Pathfinders I've had run-ins with agents of both these groups. So I be thinking their alliance is tenuous at best. Therefore, I propose we focus on not letting their alliance a chance to cement itself by focusing on the first two task. Letting them express distrust in one of their own agents and meeting to talk about her is obviously bad for a potential recruit to the Pathfinder cause. Scipio pause a moment to catch his breath as he blurts out the remainder of his reasoning in a blurt, Secondly, stealing the documents from this boat should cause delay and distrust between these two groups that, should be enough for them to call it quits and sever ties to my estimation..besides I'm somewhat of a specialist you might say on jobs like this! As if asked ..Scipio produces his thieves tools complete with a set of generic skeleton keys just like you'd use to open a lock on say a sea chest?
If prodded further for his reasoning of wanting to do the first two missions Scipio reveals what he learned on his knowledge local rolls. He tries to conceal his true reasons for not wanting to do the third task to anyone who should ask or try to sense his reasoningbluff to hide feelings: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19

![]() |

"There's sense in what ya say. We sure don' wanna let 'em expose our contact, and stealin' tha documents 's bound ta stop tha shipment fer a while. Tha third task, what Delroya writes, 't sounds like we gonna have ta fight that alchemist felllow. Now, despite ma looks, I ain't enjoy killing that much."

![]() |

"I don't know...." Ny'a interjects. "I know about the greater good and all, but stealing is just so... illegal! Even if we have reason for it." The little gnome shakes her head. "I hate to be a pain about such things, but I would much rather confront the maker of this drug; that's already both legally and morally corrupt, so there's just no question that challenging him would be within the law."

As the Pathfinders discuss their plans, the ship leaves port and heads for it's destination, Diobel. The journey is short as far as sea voyages is concerned, though the ship does move through the evening and late into the night, as the sun begins to rise, the Captain rouses all of the Pathfinders.
Zendrani and the crew of the sleek Sixwing Drake steer the ship up to the massive barrier of broken war-barges, crumbling walls, and jetties of iron and wood that protect the port of Diobel. “Well, here we are,” says the captain. “I’ll make sure everything is in order with Diobel’s inspectors and charter you a barge to the port. You aren’t carrying anything particularly valuable, so you shouldn’t draw much attention from the inspectors or pilots, so long as you don’t run your mouth. My crew and I will wait here with the ship. You can return here to rest, if you need to, but remember—there isn’t much time!”
The Captain is right of course, you know that of your three tasks most of them need to be completed by this evening. Now that you are in Diobel, a sense of urgency comes over you all.
Where are we going Pathfinders? Once I have three votes, I'll move us forward.

![]() |

Scipio approaches captain Zendrani before the group disembarks the ship. Thank you captain for the pleasant and safe journey. I seems your reputation as a worthy sea captain is well earned. Scipio is all smiles but turns serious for his request, I'm sure you are aware of the importance of our mission...might I ask for use of your chart room or private state-room before our team disembarks? We need to discuss a final few details of the mission and it might be deemed a bit suspicious by local authorities if, they observe 5-6 people gathered in alley quietly talking...wouldn't you agree? Scipio proffers his hands open wide and awaits the Captains answer.
(if needed)diplomacy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Scipio then relays, After we re-cover the documents, we can meet back here and prepare to disrupt tomorrow's meeting...what say you all? Scipio rest his hands on his hips, waiting for his companions replies
whether roll-played or not... we need to decide what 2 task and in what order we're going to do them. Majority rules? We'll need everybody to input here so lets get this done before we move on.

I agree with the shady one An elven male walks through the door, obviously not caring about privacy. He wears scholarly robes and with a few scroll cases hanging by a lengths of cord. No weapons can be seen on his person. He carries a back pack and another smaller pouch attached to his hip. His silvery white hair hangs unkempt in front of his eyes.Disrupting this meeting before details can be exchanged. I have dealt with these snakes before, it is better to cut the head off of it before it strikes.
He leans ove a table I care nothing of a drug pusher himself, but seeing the effects up close could be interesting to observe. noticing the stares, Purely scientific of course

![]() |

The gnome listens to what is being said while sipping his beer and enjoying his pie. He gives a friendly wave to the other gnome.

![]() |

Scipio looks to the quiet gnome quietly munching on a piece of pastry and sipping what looks to ale. What about you Master Gnome? I'm afraid I didn't catch yer name. What is your take? Should we try to do this job without confronting the chemist? Or do you agree with your kinswoman?

![]() |

Alright, that's 3 Votes for the meeting. Lukian, this scenario relies heavily on player participation, in the future please help in decision making when it comes up.
Through some deep discussion in the private room, the Pathfinders don't necessarily come to a consensus but there's enough of a vote to move on the meeting at the Overflowing Oyster.
A longstanding local eatery, it doesn't take the Pathfinders long to find the location. The Overflowing Oyster is a dirty, broken-looking building that barely fits between the fishing tackle shop to its north and the junk shop to its south. Hanging over the door is a creaky sign that shows a painted oyster with pearls spilling from its gaping shell. The interior of the Overflowing Oyster displays a mix of rickety furniture and gaudy decorations, from strands of obviously fake pearls hanging over the kitchen’s entrance to wooden carvings of sultry mermaids and cheap paintings of ships at sea. You arrive about half an hour before noon, which is when you know the meeting will happen.
From this point how to proceed is up to the group. The map is up for you to see the layout of the bar.

![]() |

Scipio motions the group off to a nearby alley or corner so we're not standing right in front of the establishment while we make our plans. He begins his voice hushed *whisper* Ok so I forgot today was Oathday so we'll need to disrupt the meeting before sneaking aboard the Blue Dragon's bite tonite . Scipio pauses for a moment thinking knowledge local Overflowing Oyster: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25 (I'll wait to see if the GM has any info to pass on to me).
*edit* Scipio reveals all he learned about the Oyster to everyone in the group during this conversation. (look beneath the GM'S spoiler beneath this post)
After Scipio is through relay what he knows are doesn't know about the Oyster He says, I'm not much of a tactician but I am good at being un-observed. I propose I go around back and snoop around a bit before we enter the Oyster and see if I can find anything useful. What say you all? Scipio nods his head as he listens to the others discuss a form a plan.

![]() |

![]() |

Ny'a follows the others in to the alley.
Listening to Scipio's idea, she grins. "That's a good idea. Definitely, go see what you can learn. Conversation tends to cool when I enter places like this; you should definitely do any scouting without me." . Ny'a tilts her head to the side as an idea occurs to her.
"We could maybe use that to our advantage. If this bartender really is selling fake pearls as real, I could accuse him of such and attempt an arrest. I am an agent of law. I'm sure nobody with impure motives would want to meet at that kind of scene."

![]() |

We could maybe use that to our advantage. If this bartender really is selling fake pearls as real, I could accuse him of such and attempt an arrest. I am an agent of law. I'm sure nobody with impure motives would want to meet at that kind of scene."
Scipio snaps his fingers again, Yes yes! maybe my scouting mission may turn up something that connects one of these agents from either the Aspis or Kortos agent with this apparent fraudulent pearl making and black market participant Paltus Flyter..if that connection alone isn't enough to sow un-trust the arrest idea seems feasible.. Scipio pauses for a moment and looks around and his eyes settle on Lukian. What about you master gnome? Do you have any spells that might be able to aid us. An illusion that alters one of our appearance? A spell that can listen to person's conversations at distance?

![]() |

I can make spooooky noises and images that seem to be real but are not, but that is about it for right now he comments as he chews on an apple.

![]() |

I can make spooooky noises and images that seem to be real but are not, but that is about it for right now he comments as he chews on an apple.
Scipio considers Lukian's words and replies, That may be useful if I need a distraction, to slip into someplace, un-observed. Perhaps you should go into the establishment before me; just order a drink and observe for a while? Phil can back you up? Scipio looks at Phil and awaits his nod of conformation. If I give you this signal.. Scipio holds his hand by his belt.. two fingers tucked under the buckle the other 3 digits on the outside:then use your magic as a distraction..make it loud.. He starts to stand and then quickly turns back to Lukian, One more thing, some wizards have a way of communicating with their comrades over distance ..do you posses such ability? After a moments pause Scipio turns to Zordlon and considers, and you do you have any useful abilities or talents that can help? Perhaps you have a suggestion about our plans?

![]() |

I may have some useful spells. But none of which are useful for communicating over distances. He scratches his chin, Unless you want me to muddle their minds or burn them of course. Alas, we are to keep a low profile. Which means sticking to minor magic. Pausing for a moment, As for your plan, I think scouting it is a good idea, we can enter at different times and be ready. The paladin can be the last to enter and perform her "arrest" at that point. At which time, the bartender may be forced to close the place down. Which would definitely disrupt the meeting. And if it fails, well we can improvise.

![]() |

Emilia considers the situation and her skillset. "I can remain in the bar and keep an eye out or for interlopers or even join the rogue in his stealth mission. Or I can attempt to convince the authorities to assist Ny'a."

![]() |

Scipio looks up at Emilia, Oh sorry you've been so quiet I forgot about you. Um.. Perhaps you should go with Lukian and Phil? You can assist them in their en-devours and if you have access to message magic use it to warn me of trouble if necessary. Scipio waits for Emilia's reply and says, Ok then it's settled..the first group get going and head off to the Oyster I'll begin my scouting mission out back..may Desna's smile embrace us! Scipio makes a quick superstitious sign with his hand and bounds off to scout behind the Oyster
Moved my character's pawn to represent him searching the outside area of the Oyter if he sees no garbage piles or stacked boxes crates ext.. he proceeds to try to sneak in through the bar/kitchen area un-seen (if someone isn't standing right there) if not he'll circle around to the other side of the building and go through the lobby entrance on the other dock(but not stealthy this time as it might draw attention)

![]() |

As Scipio moves around the back of the bar, he doesn't see much in the way of anything, just more dock and water. As he nears the back entrance, he doesn't realize until too late that he's passing the open door of the employees entrance as it were. Thankfully one of the men he spies is involved in cleaning the bar, and the other is occupied sweeping.
Stealth-Scipio: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Perception-Scipio: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Scipio doesn't see anyone else in the Oyster from what he can tell, though, but as they wait for his report, the rest of the Pathfinders see a young man enter the Oysters front entrance, after a moment, Scipio can see a man pull up a seat near the bar, sitting, thankfully, with his back toward the door the rogue is standing in.
At this point, I need to know what others are doing. I apologize for not mentioning sooner, but each of you may make whatever roll you believe is necessary to pull off the plan you are executing.
As you move through the entrance way, the man cleaning the bar top looks up and waves you over smiling.
"I'm Paltus, but please, call me Pal. I don't think I've seen you here before, how can I help you?"
Next to him shuffles a younger man who looks up and waves as he sweeps,
but does not speak. A man dressed as a trader sits at a nearby table,
watching the entrance. He looks at anyone who enters expectantly,
before frowning in disappointment, clearly expecting someone.

![]() |

Ny'a waits for the others to go into the bar before she enters. "I should go in last, maybe with Phil at my side, if I'm going to spring the law on our bartender. It will help if I can call on one or more of you to speak with evidence of these false pearls. If anyone discovers any damning information while you're in there, give me a nod so that I know you can speak up about it."

![]() |

Zordlon enters and just nods to the barkeep. He finds a table next to the male and props open his spell book and begins to skim the pages.

![]() |

If we wanted to be intimidating I could use my magic to make it sound like we have more people on our side coming to our aid and maybe scare these people he says.

![]() |

quint is struck with inspiration suddenly(as he hears his companions enter) ...he moves quietly toward the door and tries to get the attention of the bartender without attracting the notice of the lone trader. He remains un-seen outside, *psst*...*psst!* Paltus...Paltus Flynter....We've been sent to settle accounts with you.. If I get his attention and he moves toward the open bar door Scipio crouches down just outside the door blade barred.
Those two that just came in...they're allies of me and my friends.. Scipio says all this in a low menacing voice, You need to listen...NO! don't look around at the people..if you draw the attention of that lone trader waiting for someone ...we'll burn your whole place down! Scipio waits to see if the man is calm at this point All the while keeping himself concealed.
tsk..tsk..Palstus you've made some people very angry indeed!!My masters have sent me and my friends to settle.. accounts with you and your counterfeit Pearls. Scipio lets his words sink in for only a moment before rushing on. Better hurry or the agent waiting for the other might grow suspicious..wonder which one he is? Now unless you want to loose this whole place you'll do exactly as I say agreed? just nod your head once if you agree fat man... Scipio remains unseen as long as Paltus doesn't raise the alarm. bluff: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23

![]() |

Scipio, due to the nature of the scenario and the rules for this encounter, I need rolls from the rest of the party once they figure our their plan before I move along with your post. I just wanted to give you a heads up so you didn't think I missed it.

![]() |

When we get to the point of staging the arrest, Phil will try to mimic the motions and actions of a guard to not raise suspicion.
Assuming Ny'a is going to make a Bluff check, Bluff to assist: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (16) - 1 = 15

![]() |

Waiting for the others to eventually filter in, Ny'a makes sure that she's the last to enter. She approaches the bartender with a purpose, and makes her accusation. "Mr. Bartender!"
"You stand accused of selling fake pearls as real, and you must face your crimes! My undercover operatives should have already uncovered evidence against you. How do you plead?"
Bluff: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24 (She doesn't have the evidence yet, so it's a bluff)
Not knowing if anyone has been able to uncover evidence yet, she looks around to her companions for a clue.
__________
Since @GM is looking for rolls from everyone, I thought I would move her action along. This still takes place after everyone else has entered the bar, so shouldn't necessarily interrupt anyone else's action (yet).

![]() |

As Ny'a burst through the door Scipio starts..Damn! too soon..I'll try to make the best of it..Scipio talks hurriedly without revealing himself to the lone trader/agent, Ah you've done it now Paltus my allies are coming in to take account of your crimes...but, all is not lost..you know that trader don't you? sense motive: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
GM I already rolled a "23" for my bluff roll..please let me know if you require more rolls.

![]() |

He will cast ghost sound to make it sound like there are armed guards coming to arrest people.

![]() |

Okay... so what exactly is our plan here folks? It's a little too scatterbrained for me to make sense of exactly what is happening? Are we assisting Ny'a in convincing the bartender to close up shop? To give up who the agents are?

![]() |

as far as I can tell your character would stick to "the plan" Emilia unless she saw something or felt something that should cause her to alter her plans. but to the point, the GM has clearly stated he wants all players to "roll" a skill check an incorporate into the roll- play. Your safest bet is just to walk in as planed greet the bartender and roll a diplomacy, bluff, or intimidate and roll play what you'd say. It's actually very tough to play this over extended time because it's difficult to tell who said/ did what and when relative to other characters.. anyway it's very clear GM wants some type of skill roll from all players ..(perform, climb, knowledge nobility, he wasn't specific he just indicated you should incorporate your roll in to your roll-play
