Skyllik moves up and sizes up the remaining kellids. "Please run, I haven't had a good chase for a while," he says.
The two remaining Kellid warriors look at one another, then seeming to take the nagaji's advice (or, perhaps, simply following the printed Morale conditions), the two run off in retreat.
COMBAT OVER
Now that the Kellid hunters have fled, you are all free to return to the River Kingdoms to plot your next move. The Numerian silverdisks that you recovered should help with any plans to purchase Silverhex when the time comes. In the meantime, the silvery bracelet that you recovered from the wreck may prove useful in future endeavors.
End of Quest the Fourth
GM Valen |
And everyone lived, right? We are all healed up by the next quest, I assume? If not, Bressa offers her want to help with the healing.
Yes. There is no time clock on completing the quests. The party may take as long as they like to heal up. Also, the next quest takes place in Daggermark, which will take several days of travel.
I apologize if I pushing the party along too quickly.

After an extended search of the vessel, the party finds nothing more of value. Once you have recovered the items discovered within, you exit the pod and descend the summit, working your way down the switchbacks.
Suddenly, a fierce woman dressed in traditional Kellid garb steps out from the surround brush and blocks the path.
“Stop there,” demands the Kellid woman who,, you can now see, hefts a massive blade. “You’re are not from here, and those things are not yours. Give us the silverdisks, all the gold you have, and anything else you found there. Then you may live.”
You notice that the woman is not alone.
Map is now revealed on Slides. The Kellid woman who spoke is noted in red. The location of the crashed vessel is on the summit of the hill and marked in gray.
Skyllik |
Skyllik heals Omero once the foes have fled, at least enough to get him up and about. The following day he prepares more cure spells and heals him the rest of the way.

Knowledge (Nature): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
"I bet you didn't know halflings are surprisingly expert spider slayers. Why my own grandpappy took out a whole infestation to save a bunch of hapless dwarves. The most potent, freshest adhesive is in the big bug's silk sac. My great uncle was a silk harvester even! He taught me how when I was but a wee quarterling."
Now Teke has set the stage to dramatically fail every attack roll, saving throw, and harvesting skill check for the rest of this quest.
GM Valen |
The map provided by Ulisha leads you from the outskirts of Daggermark into the Shroudwood to the city’s southeast. As you approach your quarry, signs of obvious spider habitation increase, and especially large cobwebs link some of the higher branches. However, by their dingy gray hues and the debris held within them, it is evident that none of these are fresh enough to harvest adhesive.
You then come upon a clearing where the webs are thicker than they have been thus far, appearing newer and white. These webs crisscross the canopy above, most strands meeting near the center to support a large globe of webbing the size of a large pumpkin.
Location of large globe is now revealed on the Map.
Please place your PC token anywhere on the Map and then roll a Perception check.
Bressa |
Bressa checks on the anti-venom she bought and then cautiously approaches the globe, holding her longspear up and expecting a horde of spiders to drop right onto it.

BOTTING Omero - No post in 24+ hours
Omero approaches with his halberd, then prepares to strike the spider near Delance if the creature comes closer.
With the web-line still attached to the Halfling, the human brawler attempts to give it a pull, but it unable to get the spider to budge.
One of the spiders (red), preparing to bite the halfling, but it is met by the nagaji's quick, serpent-like strike. It's life ends that instant.

COMBAT OVER
A successful Heal or Survival check is required to collect a silk gland from a spider corpse. One such check may only be attempted once per corpse.
Omero Tegus |
"Very well done everyone." Omero looks over his companions as he shoulders his halberd. "Now, did anyone get bit?" he says while only the briefest look of a worry crosses over his countenance before it once more becomes all hard lines and disdain.

The words escaped her lips before she fully realized what she was offering. When it came time to grab hold of that hairy beast, she suddenly became squeamish and was not very helpful.
Assuming Delance pulls it off anyway and starts to work on the next, Bressa attempts to redeem herself. Steeling herself against the foolish notions, she grabs the spider to hold it steady.... and flinches as soon as her hands touch the hairs.
assist other: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Frustrated with herself, she kicks the first spider and then violently begins pulling the last strands of webbing from her spear.
GM Valen |
Delance, taking his time, successfully harvests the two spider glands on his own. Party has earned 1 Trade Point.
Using Ulisha’s map, the party is able to get out of the forest as easily as it got in and is free to head to Daggermark with the spidery goods in order to find a buyer. After all, only a city with a thriving trade in poison has buyers for the adhesive.
The party may choose to seek out Johannes Vox, the buyer referenced in Ulisha's journal, or possibly another buyer. If you seek out another buyer, please make a Diplomacy roll to gather information or a Knowledge (local) check.
Omero Tegus |
"I am not sure I like the idea of giving these folks more tools in their line of work but sometimes one must let the smaller wrongs slide for the moment to accomplish the greater good."
GM Valen |
With the spider glands and fresh adhesive in hand, the party is free to approach Vox, the buyer referenced in Ulisha's journal or, should they choose, find a different one.
Bressa |
"I'm no good with merchants. I'm sure they are always ripping me off, but I have no choice but to pay a king's ransom for simple goods. However, if any of you possess a silver tongue and sharp mind, perhaps we should see if there are any other buyers available. That is what Ulisha seemed to be leaning toward."
Despite her suggestion to find another buyter, Bressa will go along with whatever the party chooses.
GM Valen |
If the party seeks another buyer, roll a Diplomacy or Knowledge (local) to see whom else you may find.
With a result above 25, you also learn of the buyer under the following spoiler:
