I didn't make it clear in my post, but could someone please move me forward to the dog? Still can't edit from my phone. Thought I had found an app that would let me, but it didn't pan out.

An excited smile crosses Ev's face as his bolt hit's home, followed by a small cry of victory as his companions start to get the upper hand against the dogs.
Realising that the ducking and darting combatants will make it harder for him to hit he moves around to the side. I think we're getting the better of these mangy curs, I think i should start conserving my energies.
with a flourishing hand gesture he summons a smaller acidic glob and shoots it at the hound he had hit previously.

The combined efforts of the group working in synchronization easily dispatches both dogs simultaneously.

Febida lets out a sigh, the last dog hitting the ground. She starts to speak in an ancient Dwarven.

Keel slices the air, sending the dog's blood into the dirt, and then sheathes his sword.
Well, that went well enough I suppose. At least we're all still alive anyway. Shall we continue on?

![]() |

I would like to move along myself. Hopefully Febida, you try not to get bitten by any more animals.
Morrin chortled at his little joke, and proceded to retrieve nine pebble sized pieces of rubble to put into his belt pouch, with a tenth starting to circle his head, while starting to head towards the tower.
Besides, I think we are supposed to be somewhat quick about this, if I recall, so no one else takes claim to whatever may be inside.

Eveladane is bouncing around excitedly, What larks, I knew that experience in the field would prove superior to all those books!
Becoming more serious for a second, And thank you Febida for being the rock that those mangy curs broke around. I see now the importance of operating as a team. They'd have chewed through my robes in a second, but you were able to hold them off - well done!
He then turns his attention to the ruins before them, racking his brain to see if he can remember anything about the place. He also sends Maximilian his raven familiar Spiralling up into the sky to see if he can scout out any useful information.

Eveladane's raven takes to the air circling the tower. Though the raven is unable to see a lot it does see that the tower seems to have collapsed at the first three levels caving in the lower southern portion on the ground.
Go ahead and move your token to the entrance of the area you would like to investigate

![]() |

I can keep you close to Morrin when I move him when I get home in a couple of hours.

Morrin starts heading towards the tower, but stops by the northern door, and looks inside, ready to fling his piece of floating rubble at any sign of attack.

As he moves closer, a more cautious instinct emerges, as he realises that despite his enthusiasm he really isn't able to deal with beasties getting up close and personal.
Hey, we need one of you sword types to go first!

![]() |

Kel Na'Yaa looks through the southern portion of the complex and sees that the entire area is filled with rubble, leaving it completely inaccessible.
Morrin notices that the northern wing however seems to have escaped the worst effects of the collapse, but rubble still litters the floor and everything is covered in a thick layer of stone dust. Thick cobwebs coat the ceiling and hang down the walls like gossamer tapestries. A single archway stands open in the southwest wall.

![]() |

South's nothing but rubble. Looks like yours is the way to go Morrin.
Kel moves up beside Morrin.

Sheathing his cane sword, Dandy struts his way in front of Febida. "So, good chaps, anything of interest inside?", a sparkle in Dandy's eyes as he tries to peer in as well.

I have no clue, but I could bring out a sunrod that could help those of us not naturally adept at seeing in the dark. Seems clear with exception of the webs.
Morrin will take out a sunrod, but will light it once the light level gets low enough that he can't see well.

![]() |

"You forget, Dwarves live underground. Welcome to my domain, boys."
Febida, her eyes able to see deeper into the dark than the boys, takes a look herself.

Well, here goes nothing! Morrin will activate the sunrod if the light level has moved down to low light.

Turning his head, Morrin whispers to the group, "So, am I leading, or just acting as bait?"

![]() |

Well, now that you come to mention it. Thronguld's essays on Exploring the Deeps does have an extended section on the value of 'scouting'. Maybe you've read it too? Ev's tone raises at the thought of being able to discuss such an interesting book with one of his fellows.
Then, as more thoughts whir through his mind, his tone drops again. Although, I imagine you haven't read it because, he does rather go into the dangers of... Well actually, no.... never mind.... Erm... Yes, why don't you go ahead Morrin. You seem like a sensible type. Tell you what I am right here, ready to provide thermateurgic support of whatever type you need!
Ev will stick with the group, ready to pitch in with a spell and inappropriate words at the pitch of a hat.

You should be fine on lighting Morrin.
Morrin steps into the room and takes a longer look around. Looking in the corner of the room he squints his eyes noticing a dark mound. Though he is too late realizing that the dark mound is a Giant spider he is quick to react.

Morrin, are you Ok? I didn't mean it about you going first Ev exclaims with concern. Then seeing him confidently freeing himself from the webbing he breathes a sigh of relief.
You're blocking the entrance. Oh, what the hell - I've always wanted to see a live sample of Aracanids Gigantus!
Placing discovery ahead of personal safety Ev deftly weaves his way through his companions. and steps into the room. Where... Oh, there it is. Wow, quite a specimen... Ahem, ok, now. Acidicus expelatum!

The Giant Spider climbs down from it's webbing and bites at Morrin.

Kel Na'Yaa moves in and hurls his Chakram at the spider. It imbeds itself into the creatures body causing ichor to splatter all about.
@Febida- Morrin already freed himself.
@Kel Na'Yaa- I used your chakram attack as I would not think you would want to enter a grease spell area. if you do instead want to just let me know.

Perhaps we aren't the first group big guy here caught unawares? Let's search the area and see what we can find.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

![]() |

Kel Na'Yaa searches through the lower level and the spider's webbing. Venturing into the west wing he finds that it is choked with rubble though there is a door in the eastern wall that is still accessible.
Opening the door he finds a spiral staircase that runs through the center of the tower. Unfortunately the stairwell is blocked with fallen rubble at this level.
Looking through the webbing he finds a small cocoon hanging in the corner. Swiftly cutting it from the bonds reveals a the body of an unfortunate dog inside. It still seems to be wearing a collar, which is studded with lapis lazuli stones and has a silver tag reading "Kita".

![]() |

"Poor pup." When she spots the tag, two thoughts go through Febida's mind. One she voices.
"This dog had an owner. One that may still be here somewhere."
I wonder how much that collar's worth?

Picking up a small rock nearby, Morrin looks about for any more hostilities before letting the stone float by his shoulder.
If that pup's owner isn't keen to working with us, then it is for the best. Is there any way further in?
Blast, if we could make our way down, we would get exploring quicker!
So, any ideas as how to proceed? It looks like we aren't the first ones here though.

![]() |

well done folks, what team work! Although as he says this Ev does look a little crestfallen at his lack of contribution. Next time, I'll have to utilise magblood's miraculous manipulator, that'll show them how clever I am.
With the excitement over Ev joins in looking around. Hey Febida, that looks valuable, I'm pretty good at valuing things if you want a second opinion?
Seeing the piled up rubble. Febida, any sense of when this fell in, recently or the same time as the rest of the ruins around here? Also I wonder how hard it would be to clear out so we can go further in, any ideas about that?

![]() |

Ok, so other possibilities? Let's look for secret doors. Also let's check if we can climb up the outside...
Ev searches the room looking for hidden doorways and then sends Maximilian outside to look for windows and possible climb routes.

![]() |

Kel calls out when he sees the collapse.
This way's blocked by rubble. Anyone else see a way in?

![]() |

Looking around you see no secret doors. From the outside it looks as if the side of the tower has broken away allowing access to the second and third floor from the outside. The should be reachable with a bit of climbing.
