How are far into this are we? I'm attending a con starting February 22, and would like some indication whether this PC will be available for it.
Thank you.

I'm ready and willing to play at a faster pace.
GM Chie
Hey Guys!
If you're looking for someone to pick this up and see it to completion, I'm here to help!
If you would like, I can get started as soon as Today!

I sent Turmoil a PM asking about the status of the game and if he needed to ask for help. Haven't heard back yet.
We'd all like to finish this and appreciate your offer. Ready when you are.

The surprise round/initiative/actions sequencing is a little wacked. Too many retcon's needed to straighten it all out at this point. No blood, no foul so far, I guess.
We're probably near the end, and GM Chie is doing the best he/she can, I'm sure.
GM Chie
It's... Probably fine? The chance that Guang is -actually affected- is slim to none, so I wouldn't worry too much. Besides, who doesn't like whacking a pinata for a few rounds? :D
Glen Fiddich
|
No worries. We appreciate your efforts and willingness to help us finish the quest.
GM Chie
Also, it just occurred to me that I scooped up a table of 4-5 star GMs. Well, at least we all know the rules pretty well?
When I do Initiative, I tend to do it in blocks. No need to hold up other players if someone isn't available to post right away.
Also, I tend to post as frequently as I am able, so if there is something I can add, or move things along, I'm going to try to do it!

I apologize for failing to mention the arrows are cold iron.

I only have 2 stars, but I can't speak for the others.

5 stars, but it's misleading. The more you learn, the more you realize you don't know, and the more you need to double-check. PbP is a great medium for that, giving you time you don't usually have at a F2F table.
GMing in PbP has helped improve my table-top GMing immensely. I also find that it helps me better prep the same scenario for use in F2F play, giving me a much deeper understanding of the scenario, NPCs, mechanics, and helped flesh out social and combat encounters. It gives me more confidence and makes the experience richer for the players.
GM Chie
Hey Everyone! It looks like you are solidly in the middle of the adventure.
Lurgh, if you are looking to be available for Feb 22nd, I can probably make that happen? Here are the big questions that I am looking at:
1) How do you feel about Optional Encounters?
2) I am a big fan of digging into Roleplay and Flavor text. If (collectively) you are looking to move quickly, I can trim it and keep it moving.
3) I tend to post as frequently as I am able during the day, so post as often as you like, and I will do my best to keep the pace!
Glen Fiddich

I'd like to squeeze as much out of the adventure as possible, optional encounter, RP & flavor, too. My lifestyle permits frequent posting.
All that said, I don't want to cause Lurgh to miss his deadline.

I don't think I need this character after all. My level 10 magus is now free, and I can play him instead.
GM Chie
Looking over the adventure, If we continue at roughly this pace, we should be done by the 22nd anyway, which gives you your choice of characters!
In addition, I'll keep everything as intended, (Including the Optional Encounter, because it looks like a fun one :D)

Hey sorry everyone! Things have been very hectic and PF has taken a backseat. My mother-in-law moved in with us about two months ago as we are selling our house to her. Then, about 2 weeks ago, my sister-in-law moved in with her three kids as she's going through a messy divorce. Needless to say, a 2 bedroom house is very small for 4 adults and 4 kids, and free time is pretty much non existent right now.
I always told myself I would never be the GM to disappear without finding my own replacement, but it seems it has happened. Thanks a lot Chie for rescuing my game and moving it along. Once again, apologies to all of you!

Thanks for checking back in. Real-life has to take priority. Thanks for running us through as much of this as you did.
GM Chie
Hey Turmoil!
Life happens! I had to do the same thing a bit ago, so I figured I would help where I could!
I'll take good care of them!

I'll keep you in my prayers, Turmoil. Take good care of your family.

Hey Guys!
Heading to a RL convention in the morning. I'll make sure to get at least a post or two in during the day! Otherwise, back to business as usual on Monday!

I just landed in Tel Aviv. Still able to post in the evenings from my hotel.

Internet speed at my hotel in Galilee is very slow. Posting is difficult. Keeping it short. Hope it's better in Bethlemen tomorrow.

A technique I use for sound-based fear effects is to have the PC make a Perception check as soon as he/she's out of sight, apply all the modifiers for distance and other conditions, and use that to help determine if the distance is great enough to temporarily suppress the fear effect.
Not the only way, just one way, to deal with it.
GM Chie
It's a custom magic item that makes you panicked for a certain number of rounds. Between that and the weird creepy echoing halls, It's probably just easier to go 'Until end of Combat!'
GM Chie
At the rate that you guys are nuking these encounters, I don't expect the adventure to make it to Next Friday. Lurgh, your character should be available for your convention!

Better intra-party communications for sure. Milo's a lot easier to understand when he doesn't say anything.

And, since we are apparently near the end of the scenario... for Chie's records (some of this repeated from the first page, but here for brevity...)
Player Name: Aaron
Character Name: Milo
PFS# 84637-3
Faction: Grand Lodge
Day Job: Craft (alchemy): 1d20 + 18 + 5 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 18 + 5 + 2 + 2 = 45

FYI, I will be heading to a convention starting tomorrow. Please bot me as needed.

Trying to compute the damage Glen has suffered in this encounter.
After FORT Save, -18 from Horrid Wilting
AoO Bite (as Glen approached) -12
Full-Round Attacks (but all listed as AoOs?)
Bite -12
Claw #1 (vs DR 5/bludgeoning) -4
Claw #2 (Crit vs DR 5/bludgeoning) -14
Total=60 so far?
15hp remaining.
*bites finger nails, crosses fingers hoping the beast doesn't live to strike again*

That's what I get for Copy - Pasting Macros. It was a Full Attack!

Wasn't criticizing you. Just doing a little panic-math, in case the janni has another round to kill me...
GM Chie
I gotcha! I normally don't get angry!
That being said, there are only a few more checks remaining in the scenario. I can go find your Character Information in this thread, but Day Job checks should be made if you haven't already!
In other news, I will have your chronicles for you by the end of the day!
Thanks again for playing, and letting me get this wound up for you! I hope that you enjoyed the remainder of the scenario!
And for the record, if you talked or Feigned Belief to either of the last 2 encounters, there is much opportunity for some exciting Role-Play! Unfortunately, nobody wants to swear fealty to a Pseudo Lord of the Divs (who is really just a confused Janni.)

I renewed Milo's info up above a few posts. (including day job stuff)
Jumping in to finish this for us is much appreciated, Chie!
Now to ponder level 10!

Thanks, GM Chie, for rescuing our game. Much appreciated.

Let me know if I forgot anything, or made any mistakes! I will get this reported tonight, and talk to Turmoil about getting this closed Mid next week!
Thanks again for playing everyone!
(On a slightly different note, If anyone is looking to play 9-07 (Sanctum of the Sages) in Outpost, I'm running a table of High Tier that has exactly 1 spot left :D)

Got it. Looks good. Thanks, GM Chie.

The chronicle shows us as having earned 1 prestige and 2 gp. I think maybe you were used to filling out the xp first then prestige second and didn't notice the xp was already filled in because it is a season 2 chronicle.
