Hmm, I must have confused my games. I thought we had another enemy much closer.

I'll move to Sarion and heal him.

GM, please note that if the alchemist ends his turn on a square touching the spiked pit, he has to make another Ref safe in order not to fall down again.

Ouroboreia crosses the garden while remaining invisible, and summons a Hound Archon to do her bidding. In Celestial: Finish off the alchemist, then hunt down the caster at the back.

Casting summon monster IV. Summoning as a standard action thanks to the Sacred Summons feat and Aura of Good class feature.

The Hound Archon mercilessly attacks the alchemist, swinging his massive sword with all his might.

Ouroboreia summons a beast while a more hale Sarion advances, aided by Narvik. The sole remaining foe moves away from the archon, trusting her several defenses to avoid the archon's attack.

She moves through the hedge to her left with great speed, disappearing from view for everyone but Sarion. Four darts of force come hurtling for the armored tiefling.

Despite his misgivings about venturing out onto the lawn, Aeris isn't sure who's got the book they're after. He rushes to the door and out onto the grounds, saying to Besai as he passes, "Make yourself useful, man! Search the ones we took down already, if one of them has the book, we don't need to chase the sorceress!"

Once through the door, he hurries in the direction the sorceress headed, hoping to cut her off.

@ Narvik: Ouroboriea is invisible. Something else?

I thought I was able to determine her whereabouts. We'll double move then since I'm so slow.

The hound archon sniffs the escaping caster, and runs after her, blocking her path.

Ouroboreia moves westward, seeking to pursue her quarry, and summons another celestial servant. Shedding a warm and calming radiance, an orb of light appears and moves with a preternatural silence and otherworldly grace.

Casting summon monster III as a standard action to summon a Lantern Archon, which flies.

In Celestial: "Help your Hound kinsman to take down that spellcaster."

The lantern archon flies up above the hedge maze and attempts to shoot the Aspis girl. Five-foot "air step", then shooting at the caster twice.

Aeris sees the sorceress dart through the hedge and rushes along his side of the hedge to get a shot at her! He reaches the corner, lifts his bow, and looses an arrow, but it passes through her harmlessly.

Ouroboreia sighs, obviously tired of seeing this charade prolong unnecessarly. She first calls off her two archons. (as a free action out of turn, in Celestial) "Hold until I dispel her blinking, then give chase."

She calls the power of the void to dispel magic her blinking spell. Since she's got see invisibility active, her miss chance is only 20%, according to blink spell description.

Celebrating a likely victory, Ouroboreia understands that she's become visible, and moves 10 feet northward, disappearing from the sorceress's view thanks to the hedge.

The Lantern archon humms as he flies in pursuit.

That may not be enough to hit her Touch AC, but at least that'll pop an image (hitting AC-5 destroys an image if the attack doesn't hit, as per mirror image spell description).

As for the Hound, he walks down until he sees his quarry again, and teleports right next to her to block her path. Casting greater teleport.

Amusingly enough (for me anyway), her blink would have expired immediately following Ouroboreia's actions anyway... :P

Joining beside the hound archon and aided by Ouroboreia's dispel, along with a little luck from Desna, Sarion strikes down the last of the Aspis!

Besai emerges from the greenhouse to announce, "No books on those blokes. I could tell just by looking at them, but apparently you couldn't. Not learned types, that's for sure."

Ouroboreia tries to catch her breath after all this running around, but still finds within herself to thank both archons for their assistance.

In Celestial: "You have performed your duty admirably. You have my thanks."

Turning to the Aspis sorceress, she casts detect magic and searches her with caution.
Perception, take 10: 10 + 13 = 23

Aeris moves up to the fallen sorceress as well, urging Ouroboreia to be quick in her search, "We've been warned about being outside the house, we should get back in as quickly as possible. I can carry her inside for us to search, so we don't find out what kind of guard dogs that lunatic Passad uses."

He stoops down to pick up the Aspis agent, carrying her to the greenhouse door unless someone objects.

Nicely fought, everyone, especially Ouro and her beasties!

Narvik decides to heal himself with his wand and will heal others if asked (just roll).

He then wonders if the man is telling the truth about finding the book. I'm assuming I couldn't pay attention to him with all of that running.

"You're right, Aeris. Let's bring them inside and search them there."

Narvik does not think there is anything untoward about Besai's comments, other than their general acidity.

Ouroboriea finds two potions, a wand, a magical cloak, a precious gemstone, and several other mundane items on the sorceress. She also finds a thick green-bound tome with golden nunchuku embossed on the cover!

”Excellent!” Aeris exclaims. ”We’ve got the book! And, unfortunately, the scholar.” Turning to reluctantly to Besai, he asks, ”Care to verify this is the book we’re after? Is it the same one you were after…that you didn’t find?”

With a quick glance around at his companions, he asks, ”Shall we get out of this place?”

"Of course I can!" Besai replies testily. After opening the book to a single page, he turns to Aeris. "You call yourself a Pathfinder? You are, without a doubt, the stupidest one I've ever seen. Good for nothing but archery practice with the initiates. Tell me, what language is this in?" he asks, pointing at a nonsensical but clearly Avistani-style script. "Is this what Tien looks like to you? Hmm?"

He attempts to drop-kick the decoy book into a nearby fountain, but doesn't curl his toes back and breaks one on the impact with an audible *crack*, queuing a long string of curses that pour forth for the next several minutes as the scholar rolls on the ground clutching his foot.

Aeris grits his teeth as Besai rails at him, but his frustrated expression quickly turns to a smile as Besai does himself harm. ”Speaking of archery practice,” Aeris says with an intent look at the scholar as he rolls around in pain.

Turning to his more agreeable companions, he says, ”Okay, once our esteemed scholar is back on his feet, looks like we need to keep looking for the book. There are a couple of rooms we haven’t checked yet, let’s start there.” He draws a wand from his belt and heals himself, then moves back through the greenhouse and into the house proper, stopping before the first unopened door to examine it and give it a listen.

Ouroboreia comes along, surprised to have been so easily deceived by the fake book.

I somehow doubt it's there, but let's check first. If it isn't there, I suggest we start from the greenhouse backwards and take 20 on our Perception checks in every room, since obviously we missed something.

Sarion sheathes his Falchion and draws his own wand as they walk back inside. "Maybe the Aspis was tricked as well." he says. "Would they be as determined to protect it if they weren't?"

Assuming he can get someone else to use it on him if he can't get it to work himself.

Moving to the library confronts the team with a more complicated task. Deciding to start with the lecterns first, Ouroboreia notices slight scuff marks near the base of the empty podium after a few minutes of searching, as though the whole thing rotates out of place!

Meanwhile, Narvik is ill.

"Strange, look at these marks. One could think that it was moved recently. Maybe it contains something?"

Ouroboreia casts detect magic before studying it more closely.

Ouroboreia does not detect any magic in the area.

Actually, I forgot to heal after the last fight. Ouro asks Narvik to use her own wand to heal her wounds.

Not being very strong, Ouroboreia asks Sarion and Narvik to move the podium.

Narvik will comply with both requests.

Aeris assists Narvik in attempting to shift the podium, pushing it in the direction the scuff marks indicate.

After a couple minutes of shoving, the group manages to push the podium aside--though not before Narvik undergoes another painfully and disturbing episode.

Does Wisdom drain kill people? If so I'm gonna be a dead half-orc, LOL.
