Here I am. I really do have 3 chronicles, but haven't had time to level.

Not really sure I want to go Invulnerable Rager, or even vanilla barbarian. Just having a hard time deciding.

Any pros/cons? It seems like uncanny dodge and evasion are pretty useful.

Invulnerable Rager doesn't love evasion, only uncanny dodge (and improved uncanny dodge, of course) and trapsense. In that sense uncanny dodge is only useful if the character has at least moderately good dexterity, which Bram actually has. The damage reduction granted by Invulnerable Rager is relatively good but not all that amazing, as it doesn't work against energy damage, and has little use against massive hits. Still, at 10th level having DR 5/— is nice.

I also meant to ask you all about your styles of play. As you've probably noticed I've chosen to play Kuran in a very stereotypical manner, bordering comical. Still he is a rather serious character given his background and such. I thus prefer a style of play where characters show interest in other characters and in appropriate cases even create verbal conflicts with other characters (either friendly or unfriendly).

In one PbP I played a rather disgruntled, undermining dwarf who expressed strong dislike towards a drunk monk. I OOC'd and tried to explain I had no bad feelings towards the other player's character, but it seems some players didn't like my character verbally offending another (although the target character's player didn't mind it). The GM didn't explicitly say it, but I got the feeling he/she considered the verbal offensive almost as PvP.

TL;DR I don't mind characters disliking each other as long as they still wind up working as a team.

Is the reason I'm not considered "checked in" because I don't have a character dotted in yet?

I have two 100% available characters, but I would prefer to use some others that are fairly likely to be done before the 27th. I should be able to dot in with one or another by the 25th or 26th.

Bummed that this keeps me from participating in the IC hangout going on in the gameplay thread though.

I just went through the character tab and saw who was in. So short answer is yes.

Whenever your desired character frees up, feel free to join in the chit chat and we will continue from there. =)

You could participate with a new alias if you are unsure which character you'd bring.

I'm considering it. Sort of an NPC or something. However, then that alias will show up as participating in the campaign and Wayfinder will be confused. I'll just wait.

One more question. Does a barbarian's DR stack with that granted by adamantine armor?

If I do go Invulnerable rager, I could take Increased DR as my 8th and 10th level rage powers, with adamantine chain mail I'd have DR 9/- while raging. That could be very powerful.

Or I could go Unchained. I'd have to rebuild now, but rage HP work so much better that way. And Increased DR give you DR 2 each time, so even giving up the archetype wouldn't hurt as much (It would be DR 8).

I have no idea in the slightest, I'm afraid. Barbarian is one of those classes I've never gotten around to playing or becoming familiar with.

I'm on vacation and on an exodus to the countryside till next Monday. Expect decreased update frequency until then.

I trust no one minds me bringing in my own VC-PC for the briefing. Needed something to tie this to the Society, so opted to go this route, even if it does tack on some extra stuff at the beginning.

To my understanding these modules require some sort of impro-glue to hold the introduction together. They weren't designed for PFS after all.

I don't want to sound nagging, but the pace is starting to bother me. In other situations I wouldn't mind it as much since I could easily interact with other player characters, but in a combat situation I have limited options to interact. Furthermore I don't like to be the one posting every other post just because the delay between posts seems to be around a week.

I agree. This is a really slow pace. It's been about a week since I have had an action.

Sorry everyone. I've decided to drop out of the game. Not trying to kill momentum - I'm one who's been slowing it down. I just don't see having time to focus on posting in all my games for a few weeks, and that is a problem. Sorry, and happy gaming!

I can usually post 1-2/day during the week... assumming I have something to contribute. But during the weekends I'm pretty much offline, and this past Firday I was travelling. Sorry, If I've been slowing it down.

I'm surprised I was able to check at all this past weekend, actually, what with parents and in-laws in town for my daughter's birthday. So I can't hold it against ya. (Honestly, I only checked as a way to escape from them all.)

I've always assumed weekends are filled with meetings with family members and such, so they are reserved other free time activities.

Oh, and I'm now reminding you all about Painlord's PbP guide.

Painlord's PbP First Rule: Post something everyday (unless it's a known hiatus). Even if it's a null post, put something up. Remind others that someone is waiting on someone. Keep your momentum going and your thoughts on what's happening. I sometimes fail at this, but I try. Everyday.

The first time I ran a PbP on Paizo forums, I ignored the tips and tricks in a stupid "all those things are obvious" manner and later got some critique about it. Not directly, though.

There is a problem with the line between the provider and our house. It may take until beginning of next week until they found and fixed the problem. I will try to post during work until it is fixed, but that means that maybe I won't be able to post on the weekend.

Hey GM, for future maps could you use Google Slides? That way I can move my token from my phone.

I'm at the countryside this weekend and it appears my new operator's coverage over here is abysmal (only EDGE, no HSDPA+...) so I'm limited as to how I can update. Back on Sunday evening then.

Not a single die roll over 10 during the fight. I call the dice rigged in wolves' favor! :)

Regarding Tessa's concerns... I checked everyone's gear and it seems no one has a wand of cure light wounds. This will make the adventure a lot more interesting, in my opinion. I concur, though, that it will make this ordeal a lot harder.

I will happily divulge that there will be limited healing available throughout the module. But as such you must still be careful.

There is a Google Drive app, but it doesn't have the same functionality as the "specific" apps when it comes to looking at or manipulating files. Google Sheets is for Excel-type stuff (like signup sheets) and Google Slides is for maps. Google Drawings can be used for maps, but doesn't presently allow mobile users to manipulate the map.

That's kinda what I get at. Why make it a suite of apps rather than include it all in the same app? Size issues? Likely.

Yeah, I use Slides and Sheets, but not much else (well, drawings, for GMs who are "behind the time").

It just occurred to me Nijena couldn't have the trait defender of the society as its prerequisite is fighter, not paladin.

What does that mean? I can't play this character any more?

You just need to change that trait to be a legal one; that's all.

Nijena's AC is a bit askew. It says:

AC 20, touch 12, flat-footed 19 (+6 armor, +1 Dex, +2 shield, +1 trait)

While it should be:

AC 20, touch 12,flat-footed 18 (+6 armor, +2 Dex, +2 shield)

That is correct. Heavy load incurs a max dex of +1, and an ACP penalty of -6. Use the worse when comparing to armor. Shield adds to the ACP then, so you should have ACP -8 with a heavy shield.

Hey. Sorry for the radio silence. My Daughter was delivered on Saturday, the 22nd, eight weeks early. She's in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unity for the next month or so. My wife had some complications but is doing better now. We think she will be able to go home this weekend. I've been staying at the hospital with her and my daughter and haven't had time to do much but take care of and sit with them.

If you feel it would be better to replace me, I totally understand. Otherwise, I hope to be active on the boards again by next Monday.
