Satine Fenix |
Satine opens the door.
GM Silbeg |
Satine moves forward, seeing new parts of the Ossuary, but other than a few doors doesn't really see much that is interesting. She's in a hallway that goes west and north... and then tees out to north and south after about twenty feet or so. There are doors on the southern wall and the eastern and western wall of the corridor moving north.
Please move yourselves, and describe your next action!
Satine Fenix |
What do I see?
GM Silbeg |
To the south, dirt and rubble surround a hole in the wall of this alcove. Within, a rough-hewn tunnel leads off into darkness. Two picks and a shovel lie on the floor in front of the hole.
Anyone coming with you?
Satine Fenix |
Now what do I see?
Drungaard |
Drungaard moves west 5 squares only pausing to look at the idol to see if he has seen it before. KN religion: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12. He wants to be able to cover Satine's back and still watch the rest of the party.
Fhlangorn Spiritrock |
Fhlangorn moves up next to Satine.
Satine, what do you see up there lass?
Electra Ivy |
Electra moves up, taking advantage of the space to move to the center of the party, glancing down the open hallway (west).
"Picks and shovels. Odd. Can anyone tell if they are new?"
GM Silbeg |
The picks and shovels seem well used, and are conveniently dumped off right next to a roughly created tunnel.
The tools have clean edges, and no rust on their cutting edges, indicating that they have been used recently
The tunnel looks like it is newly excavated
Satine Fenix |
Satine is visibly surprised by the arrival of several Caryatid Columns.
GM Silbeg |
Satine is surrounded by a plethora of animated stone statues. Maybe they are caryatid columns. Maybe they are weeping angels?
Satine Fenix |
Satine opens the door.
GM Silbeg |
Satine tries to open the door...
STR check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
But fails to open it. The door budges slightly, but it seems like something is blicking it from opening.
Satine Fenix |
Satine pushes a little harder.
strength check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Satine Fenix |
After a spectacular failing, Satine moves on to a new door and opens it.
GM Silbeg |
This door opens easily, and Satine sees something.
She can make a perception and kn:arcana check.
Satine Fenix |
GM Silbeg |
If anyone moves up with Satine, they can see her spoilers.
Electra Ivy |
Electra idly picks up a shovel, swinging it over her shoulder as she follows Satine, keeping her Wayfinder shining.
"Anything interesting darlin'?"
GM Silbeg |
Electa Ivy, shovel in hand, walks up being Satine, who is busy exploring a room. Electra can see the first spoiler The room is lit up by their wayfinders.
Zavra Tuskless |
After a few moments of examining the statue, Zavra continues to follow the rest of the group down the hallway. She stops next to Electra, looking into the room.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Knowledge Arcana: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
Augusta follows along as well, waiting just outside the door as the more scholarly adventurers examine the circle.
Drungaard |
Drungaard Moves north 5 squares next to Electra and infront of the doorway that Satine recently went through.
GM Silbeg |
Zavra moves up and looks at the circle. She swears she should know something... it is just at the tip of her tusk, but doesn't quite come to her. For sure, she thinks they can sweep up the broken arcane circle, and make a little cash.
Drungaard moves up, sees what's going on, but says nothing.
If you cannot move your tokens, please let me know. Otherwise, please move them when you describe your actions!
Zavra Tuskless |
"Huh... No idea why this is here, but I do know that if you are going to go through the trouble of making a circle out of silver power, you really don't want someone scuffing if up... Usually bad if there is a spell involved, and if you are just holding a wrestling match it is way cheaper to use sand"
GM Silbeg |
[ooc]just let me know when[ you are ready to move on, or if anyone reads the parchment that Satine found. /ooc]
Electra Ivy |
Electra moves in, wandering the perimeter of the room, eyeing the circle suspiciously. As she catches sight of the scroll, she'll tug at it with one hand, the other still on the shovel. She'll try unroll it with one hand to see what it contains.
Satine Fenix |
moved Augusta on map
GM Silbeg |
Electra is able to easily pull out the scroll, but it is obviously magical writings.
In a training class... we'll need to do the next part when I get the chance.
Drungaard |
Drungaard is not going in the room... Seems that there are enough in it already.
GM Silbeg |
Electra is unable to translate the scroll, unfortunately she doesn't have the training nor the magic available now. She hands it to Zavra, who tries to determine the spell inscribed. Zavra determines that is a scroll of remove paralysis.
Nothing left in the room... where next?
Drungaard |
Drungaard Will move north and scout ahead carefully. Per Roll if needed.
I think that I was able to move my icon to the spot I wanted to end on.
GM Silbeg |
Fhlangorn opens the door with no trouble. He sees brightly painted carvings along the walls of this room vividly depict mighty dragons in flight over shining cities, while below, winged angels kneel and serve human masters. Peacock-feather motifs dominate throughout the chamber, and a faint, pleasant perfume drifts though the air. Several humans lie supine atop biers draped in rich cloth—if they are dead, the bodies are perfectly preserved and have the appearance of relaxed sleepers, showing no signs of corruption or decay.
more coming in the am. Move yourselves, or state any preparation. Note, for future, you can rally everyone at a door... like 'I open the door when everyone has moved in behind me'
Satine Fenix |
Satine will follow if Fhlangorn enters the room. If he does not, she will move around him to begin the inspection of the bodies.
GM Silbeg |
Augusta will: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Drungaard will: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Electra Ivy will: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Fhlangorn will: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Satine will: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Zavra will: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
As you explore the room, you discover that what you are seeing is a complicated and powerful illusion. Beneath the illusion, the room is completely empty save for the accumulated dust of the ages, and a single word carved into the stone floor:“Xavorax.”
You may make a knowledge local
Fhlangorn Spiritrock |
Fhlangorn will move into the room with Satine.
"How do ya suppose they died?"
Zavra Tuskless |
"I wonder if a scroll of remove paralysis counts as a relic of the church." Zarva shrugs as she tucks the scroll into a belt. She control I use to follow the party, staying at the ready as doors are open, always hanging 5-10 ft back from the leader.
Zarva carefully scans the room with the bodies, not stepping in immeadiately, but will move forward for a heal check if those in front have determined the way is clear.
Heal: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
GM Silbeg |
There are no obvious causes of death. They just look like they were sleeping.
When Drungaard comes to the room, and Electra posts, they can reveal to the group what's here
Fhlangorn Spiritrock |
Fhlangorn moves up to the first body and examines it.
Heal Check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
"Let's see if I can figure out what happened to you, my dead friend."
Fhlangorn says as he pokes and prods the body.
Electra Ivy |
"It seems as if we are being fooled. The entire room is a lie. Some sort of illusion." Electra shrugs her shoulders. "Does anyone know the name Xavorax?"
Drungaard |
Drungaard moves to the room. Looks around and says "Why are all of you so interested in an empty room? I see nothing. Lets keep going."
Zavra Tuskless |
Will save with a bonus for those in the room that failed, were informed, and are currently interacting with the corpses?
GM Silbeg |
As both Drungaard and Electra point out that very thing in the room is illusory, everyone starts to see an empty room (except for the inscription in the spoiler). The room is essentially empty
GM Silbeg |
which door would you like to open next? Also, if you'd like we can assume people are all gathering by the door before we open.
