"You fiend. I bet you hit women and steal candy from babies, too."
Purnel moves down the stairs and punches again. punch: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 dmg: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
"You are despicable, an embarrassment to Razmiran."
Syllyn

Purnel lets a fist fly and the guard passes by.
"Look out, Dylph!
This bears repeating. Keep in mind that if you accept the rage, you also get a +5/1d4+3 wisp attack.

Lauranna makes a horrified face and exclaims: "Oh! You didn't tell me you where gonna kill him!"
"He should be OK. I just punched him." Though those wisps aren't holding back I see.
Purnel Yull

Wait, what? Wisp attack? In addition to a standard action? Nope not something I realized.
wisp attack as above: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13 dmg: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
"Get 'em glowing angry thing."
Syllyn

Wait, what? Wisp attack? In addition to a standard action? Nope not something I realized.
Yep. A Skald gets to spread the love around. There are some restrictions on exactly what carries over when someone else accepts a rage, but this is one of them and a big reason I took the ability. In fact there are very few decent rage powers that work nicely with the Skald ability to share, so I wouldn't be surprised if most skalds take the wispy one.

Dylph pulls away from the blade protruding though him and gracefully puts some distance between himself and the priest.
Lauranna, I'm assuming you wish to maintain the grapple? If that's not the case, let me know
Lauranna (maintain): 1d20 + 4 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 4 + 5 = 18
The thrashing priest nearly pulls away from the woman, but her stubbornness prevails.
Syllyn capitalizes on the downed man and puts his weight behind a solid jab to the back of the head. "Oof!" cries out the man, as a shadowy tentacle rises out of the ground and slaps him.
Sidestepping the small monks blow, the priest turns and slaps the tentacle with his shield, avoiding it's touch.
The man makes a show of trying to escape Lauranna's grasp, but doesn't seem to put up much of an effort.
His counterpart on the other hand seems determined to make an example of Dylph and leaps over the banister after him. Purnell - Another AoO please. Unfortunately, the mans armor weighs him down, landing with a *Thunk* in front of the rogue.
Unfazed by his predicament, he lashes out with the blade. His zeal clouding his vision, the priest doesn't come anywhere close to his target.
Suddenly, a loud bell rings out. *bRRRRRRRRRRRR*bRRRRRRRRRR*bRRRRRRR*bRRRRRRRRRRIIIIINNNNGGG*

Syllyn, the Slam attack from your spirits is vs normal AC, right?
You hear movement coming from the double doors on the 2nd level
You hear Krant's voice from the room you'd been scribing in earlier.
*Snort. AcK Sccrrt PTOO* "Whassit...who...TO ARMS!"
You suddenly wake up to an alarm ringing out through the temple. Your companions are not in the barracks with you. Three other acolytes sit straight up in bed, rubbing their eyes.

Lauranna looks with concern at the big double doors and then to party's wizard to cast hold portal on the door.
"...Um, where's the wizard? We have a wizard right? It's hard to tell with these stupid masks on. I mean what sort of knee-slapping, ham-handed group, of idiot adventurers goes anywhere without a wizard?"
Lauranna, I'm assuming you wish to maintain the grapple? If that's not the case, let me know
Assuming she's not just holding up someone who is unconscious.

Purnell, the perception doesn't cost an action. So, you get your move and attack, sadly the RNG doesn't seem to like the idea of you hitting...

Purnell misjudges the guards path and strikes empty air as he hops over the railing.
Cautiously stepping around the fallen foe, Dylph waits but a moment for Purnell to get in position before he plunges his dagger deep into the mans abdomen. Suddenly a shadowy tendril launches out of the group and slams down on his shoulder. "Ooof"
Tired of dealing with the fiasco, Lauranna hoists the guard over her shoulder and makes her way to the railing. With a simple shrug, he hurdles the man overboard.
"YAAAAAAA-HOO-HOO-HOO-HOOOEEEYYYY!!!" screams the man as he sails through the air. With a sickening *SPLOOT* he lands on the pews below; unmoving.
Syllyn: Your intended target is motionless on the pews below. You are free to change your action.
Purnell scales the railing more expertly than the foe. Though his strike fails to land, the shadow figure manages to slam into the opponent hard.
With a shudder, the guard drops his rapier. Rasping breaths and bubbles of red fluid are all that escape him.

"I don't know, but it's never been done before! Lets find them and make them pay!"
Suddenly a loud yell echos out through the temple.
Both voices in unison cry out"For RAZMIR!" and you hear footsteps rushing away.

Oh! I can fix that! Oh and Syllyn the guy is prone now, but being pinned isn't the same as being prone.
Lauranna rubs off the makeup from her forearm revealing her smiley-face holy tattoo!

Dylph frowns. "I don't like it...but we should finish them off...they can identify us. We may still have time to run back to our bunks and play it off. Don't think we have time to get our stuff and fight our way out..."

Hearing the commotion and seeing that his traveling companions are not with him, he decides to run out and see what is going on.

Both will wake up with Lauranna's Healing burst. I'm going to give you guys some more time to determine what you want to do. Seems we have several ideas currently on the table.
Lorqinor is going to end up at the base of the stairs leading up from the basement with a double move

Syllyn will instead make a double move down the stairs. To make sure he does not arise and to get a weapon.
Failed to mention that he maintains the rage.
Purnel Yull

"Well, I guess we could try and play this all off as a accidental adventure to see Razmiran for ourselves. Lauranna will have the best possible vantage to determine if we can go unidentified having focused the guards attention and all."
| GM RePete |
Lauranna channels a burst of cleansing light from her symbol of hope. The priests eyes open suddenly. Though the pink one stares blankly upward, confused at the current situation, the one with the orange clasp glares at Dylph and his companion.
Dylph and Lauranna's injuries seem to mend as well.
The doors to the sanctuary open and an intoxicated Kran can be seen in the preceeding hallway near Evlar. The two acolytes that opened the doors for you and another masked figure accompany them in the hall.
You see two robed figures ahead of you on the next landing and two more behind you. (the two behind you were in the barracks with you when you woke up)

To Hit Fist, power attack, prone: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
damage: 1d3 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9, nonlethal
with a nice solid blow to the solor plexis. And the wisps...
To Hit wisps, prone: 1d20 + 5 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 5 + 4 = 25
damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
manage to drain energy from him.
That ought to drop him again. Hopefully she will not heal him back up again! I need his weapon.
Remember that part of the damage on pink was lethal and part nonlethal. He should have healed up quite a bit from the channel.
Purnel Yull
|
Purnel gasps, "What in the world?" "How did you do that?"
He punches down twice at the prone guard (orange).
punch 1: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22 dmg: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
and punch 2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11 dmg: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
and finally the wisp wisp strike: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25 dmg: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 wisp crit: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22 crit dmg: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Purnel does not want to kill the guard. I think monks can do non lethal damage with their strikes, but I don't know about the wisp. Purnels punch would be non lethal.
Syllyn
|
Wisp damage is lethal and negative energy damage. Poor guard. And if he was prone, there was an additional +4 on that strike.
Dylph
|
Dylph shakes his head, thinking that this can't end well...he pulls his dagger out of the guard's gut...he'll retreat back a few steps, to both guard a possible retreat and to see how things unfold...
Purnel Yull
|
"Let's make for our weapons and Lorqinor and get the hell out of here." Purnel realizing they will soon be surrounded. He grabs any weapon the guard had and moves to Dylph's side. "We should move down together."
Purnel Yull
|
Are we on the ground floor and have to make it through the double doors with 5 people behind them? Is that our path to our weapons? I can't tell.
Purnel realizes after a quick reorientation that they must pass through Krant and his crownies to get back to Lorqinor. He moves towards the doors.
Are you all with me in thinking we need to get to our weapons?
Dylph
|
Yeah, to get to our weapons we have to go thru those dudes...that being said, we can either try that or run out the doors behind us and try to sneak back in later...don't see another option. If we flee, Lorquinor could play it off since e he didn't participate in the fight... whatever the majority decide is fine by me...
| GM RePete |
Pulling his dagger out of the prone man, Dylph eyes the incoming group with concern. Cautiously stepping back towards the double doors, he hopes for the best, while planning for the worst.
Syllyn gives his foe a quick jab across the chin, dropping him again. The shadowy 'thing' leaps from the ground and gives the man a solid *thunk* for good measure.
Understanding it's likely not best to kill the guard with witnesses, Purnell swiftly slaps the man, dropping him down again. Suddenly a giant thumb summoned from somewhere beyond reaches out and squashes the mans head, as one may do with an ant...
The cultists on the stairs glance back to Lorqinor "Not really sure what's going on. That bell, it means someone tried to get into the High Priests chambers. That's forbidden! Could be an assassination attempt..." the call out before scurrying forward.
The robed figurtes continue to advance, slowly. Krant stops just inside the sanctuary and eyes the scene with drunken interest. Meanwhile, Evlar continues to approach the end of the room, anger evident in his tired eyes.
"Wassit...Whazz gun...'ere? Wasssit doin ter dem?"

Purnells, you are all on the ground floor now, except Lauranna. She is still on the steps.
The two guards have a Light Shield, A sap, and a Rapier you could grab relatively quickly...though orange has his shield strapped on at the moment and it would need removed first.
All up. What do you do?
Purnel Yull
|
Purnel makes to explain (bluff), "A group 3 three black clad figures went up these stairs. Then these guards rushed down and attacked us. Then the bell or something went off." "Quick, after them!" "They were headed for the other side of the chamber upstairs."
bluff: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (10) + 0 = 10
This is not a total lie, the three black clads were Dylph, Syllyn, and Purnel and we headed towards the other side. The guards attacked after we attacked them, and the bell did go off.
Syllyn
|
Syllyn snags the rapier, then starts to put on an act.
"Raaarrrh! Sssyllyn mad. Thieves steal Sssyllyn'ssss stuff! Give ssstuff back NOW!"
Standing over the fallen guard he taps out a furious rhythm on the pews (continuing performance), glaring at the newcomers, sounding drunk and enraged.
Bluff: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
He doesn't really have a plan other than to distract the guards into heading for him.

How about aids to either Syllyn or Purnel to bluff the group? It may require something other than delay action to do though (???). Just a suggestion. I know I'm one to talk having messed things up here attacking and then accidentally killing the guard. If we can just get around these folks and get to our stuff, I think we hack our way out.

That depends on where we are going. And before anyone says "to get our gear", what I mean is: "Where precisely on the map is that?"
Purnel Yull
|
We found the gear in T13 on slide 2. We have to negotiate at least one locked door. The other option is to leave out the front doors on our current map slide, the double doors on the right side. Is that what you mean?
| Silly Disguise |
Right.
Laurana rushes down the steps. She pulls off the dead guard's robe and mask. "How do I look?"
