As the commoners once again dissolve into shouting and accusations, Hearthmount tries to calm them down in futility. They seem to be largely driven by anger or hatred at the newcomers to their town. The Sheriff and Father Grimburrow, with his acolytes make an effort to calm the crowd, but their please are only met by more shouts and curses.

Leeoli Maleye |

perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Leeoli suddenly stands deathly still.
Do you not feel the ice in the air ??!? Leeoli roars.
Leeoli draws his rapier.
Death is come.

Leeoli Maleye |

The lamps! Feel how they burn! Leeoli guestures to the walls of the hall.
Leeoli moves to where the sheriff stands.
Who is that man there, the one singing to himself? Leeoli points.

GM Nayr |

Sheriff Caeller is obviously on edge, no doubt due to the sudden agitated nature of the hall. That's Gibs Hephenus, surly old Veteran. He hasn't been right since the professor's funeral.
Asenath and Zazaria surely recognize this old fellow, he led a gang of farmers to accost them on the way to the professor's burial site. They weren't going to let them bury Lorrimor there, until the two ladies, with the help of Crag and Gerion, convinced them otherwise.

GM Nayr |

In no more than the moment it takes for the Sheriff to identify Hephenus, chaos erupts in the town hall. Five of the large lanterns that light the hall suddenly explode into bursts of burning oil that douses the surrounding walls – lighting the room on fire and causing the townsfolk to truly panic.
The odd chill is gone from the room, and instead it heats to nearly suffocating levels as townsfolk cry out in fear, and pain.
Anyi: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Asenath: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Vrilli: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Zazaria: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
The map shows where the 5 fires have started – I2, A6, J6, B11, and I11. Note that 2 of these are already roasting townsfolk; these poor farmers will be down and dying at the end of the round. Left unchecked these fires will surely spread; added to that, the townsfolk are no doubt about to trample one another to escape. You have a few options here – flee, fight fires, direct the crowd, save the townsfolk, etc. Please go ahead and post your actions as you can; there’s no real enemy with an initiative yet, but we’ll go round by round in case of the fire spreading.

GM Nayr |

Anyi quickly moves to the nearest fire, easily hurdling over hastily knocked down benches in order to get the the flames. She tears down a tapestry and smothers the blaze before any townsfolk can be harmed.
Zazaria leaps into action on the other side of the stage, and beats at the flames with another torn tapestry, to the same effect.
Vrilli moves as far as he can to the south of the building and pulls one villager from the fire. Beating at the flames on the poor man, he puts them out, leaving a charred but still breathing body. The villager weakly moans, and begins to crawl away toward the exit. Meanwhile, the fire that had just nearly consumed in has spread. It now blazes up the legs of a poor young farmhand who was trying to push his way through the crowd and out the doors. The lad cries out in pain and stumbles.
Leeoli, knowing that the furthest fire could become a blaze before they focus on it, jumps down from the stage and nearly sprints to the far southeastern corner of the building.
Asenath moves to the eastern wall as well, but only just barely makes it to the blaze. She appears prepared to seize a tapestry and beat at the flames.
Kendra stays close to the sheriff, who leaps up to the stage to make sure that the councilmembers are all okay. The two remaining councilmembers join Hearthmount and Favran on the stage, obviously not wanting to brave the near stampede of townsfolk out of the hall.
Map updated - 3 fires left and they've grown. Currently there are 3 townsfolk enveloped in flames. By the end of the round, the crowd will be nearly a stampede as well, causing the 2 villagers at the doors to be crushed to death by the feet of their fellows behind them. Anyi's up!

Zazaria Rooke |

Zazaria runs to join Asenath and help extinguish the fire there, but as she runs she hollers People of Ravengro, do not flee, you will be crushed! Withdraw to the stage, where the fires are under control!
Perform (Oratory): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24

Asenath makes an attempt to put out the fires near her.
CMB: 1d20 ⇒ 17
Vrilli - figured that you put out the one in front of you; Anyi got one square, and you get the other.
Anyi and Vrilli attack the fires near them and are able to pat them out before anyone else nearby is harmed. Asenath manages to put out some of the fire nearest to her, but still the blaze spreads around the area that she and Asenath are in.
Leeoli grabs and saves one villager, only to see another set ablaze. as the fire spreads. The poor woman was trying to squeeze into the crowd to escape out of the doors, but her bunched skirts caught ablaze. She now twirls about, frightened, batting at them and screaming.
Zazaria's powerful voice cuts through the din, and it seems as if everyone goes silent to listen...though the screaming still continues. Her words seem to resonate with the townsfolk, and nearly half of them move to the north, away from the doors. They huddle near the front of the stage and those to the south can proceed out of the doors in a more orderly fashion.
Father Grimburrow hastens to the south, despite the horrified calls of his acolytes. He rushes towards Leeoli, his hands outstretched and seeking to help one of the fallen townsfolk.
New round! Only two major fires left, but they're spreading as quickly as you put them out. 2 townsfolk currently ablaze, one will be dead and dead by the end of the round, the other will be down and dying. There's no risk of trampling due to Zazaria's instructions.

Zazaria Rooke |

Calling out to the Sheriff Never mind the Council...fight these fires, by Pharasma!, Zazaria sprints to the citizen closest to death and summons up the power of Pharasma, releasing positive energy in a great burst of pale blue light that floods everything in a 30' radius around her.
Hope that didn't get Asenath; I'm beside Leeoli when I release the energy...
Channel Energy: 1d6 ⇒ 6
The power of the Mother of Graves bathes the area in potent, cool light, easing the pains of the dying, and - perhaps - saving some from an untimely judgement.

Anyi’s attempt to pull a tapestry and fight the fires is thwarted by the very tapestry itself, as it gets tied up in one of its hanging rods and remains fixed in place. Vrilli, unfortunately, meets with the same lack of success. Asenath is able to rip away her tapestry and stamp out one of the fires nearby.
Leeoli pulls the poor woman away from the fire, and Father Grimburrow quickly begins tending to her wounds. Zazaria’s powerful call to her goddess, however, seems to do the work that he’d just begun. Some of the townsfolk that have been burned seem to be recovering quickly, and one that was down only moments before is not on hands and knees, coughing out smoke.
Two fires still raging; note that there are tapestries all over the walls; it’s assumed that you can grab one if you’re relatively close – say 1 or 2 squares away. Your CMB roll must beat a 12 though, or you don’t get a tapestry. One fire just spread to Zazaria, and is not threatening to engulf her – DC15 reflex save or 1d6 fire damage as shown below. Top of the round again!
Fire damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2

Zazaria Rooke |

Reflex save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Zazaria jerks away swiftly from the hungry fire and calmly pats out the flames that spread to her robe - O Lady of Judgement, you are indeed close to hand today! - and, seeing no-one in need of immediate help, resumes her firefighting duties.
