Let's take everything we can reasonably carry and stash the rest in the rubble. We can let the town know that the tower is still on shaky ground since it is. Should buy us time to stash and come back.

Wakiyan nods as well, starts loads up the most valuable coins (of his share) that he could reasonability carry. Placing the rest of his share in a chest he can drag/carry to the stash point.

"Let's hope we can pull this off and get to keep everything. "

The party carries as many coins as comfortably can Just to make it easy, all of the gold and platinum and half of the silver, as well as the teak box with gems and the loot from the kobold. They drag two chests with the rest of the silver coins and all of the copper to the rubble for safe keeping before making their way topside, retrieving the heavy crest once again on their way out.

total loot found is 200 gp worth of silver coins, 115 gold, 24 platinum coins, a polished teak box filled with 30 varieties of cut gems, 5 polished turquoises, two Medium-sized masterwork mithral daggers/keys, a set of keys with the initials 'B.H', three potions of cure moderate wounds, and a 50 lb crest of the Canteclure family crest

GM Dice:

Darb Stealth: 1d20 + 20 - 5 ⇒ (3) + 20 - 5 = 18

Wakiyan: 1d20 + 6 - 5 ⇒ (20) + 6 - 5 = 21

The party is somewhat noticed as they return; despite their best padding, the coins jingle as they make their way to the inn. Tali, somehow awake at this late point in the evening 11pm, greets the party warmly. "Whew, I was worried 'bout ya! Heard that one of you had to go to the Seven Roses for healing. Looks like the lot of you made it out ok!" She offers the party a chance to sit down and enjoy some warm milk, bread, and honey as a snack you wish. Despite the jingle of your packs, she doesn't seem to mind, being the good-natured sort she is.

Talia directs Jinx to the Baroness's homestead Marked on Belhaim map!

Entry to the manor is easy for Jinx as a guard stands watch, waiting for her (or one of her companions). "Ah, the baronness has been expecting you. Please, come in."

The catwoman is escorted to a waiting room, where a warm fire illuminates the chamber; Lady Devy sits in a chair, reading a book as she enters. "Greetings. I hope you have information about the tower's collapse as well as if Mr. Hunclay was involved somehow."

Good evening Baroness. We did indeed identify the reason for the collapse ad well as Mr. Hunclay. Unfortunately the reason why eludes us. He apparently banded with a local kobold tribe to take the tower down but he met an unfortunate end when the rubble took him as well. Do you know why he hated the tower so?

Lady Devy shakes her head. "No, he simply wanted it gone. Perhaps had my husband not lost his life exploring the ruins, I may have considered it. I shouldn't be too surprised he was involved, although strange he perished in the act. But kobolds you say...", a pessimistic frown appearing on her face before reaching for a sack, bulging with coins. "Your reward, as promised. Although if you are worthy to speak for your group, I may have another job for you if you lot would like to earn a fair bit more."

"I've heard rumors of a kobold tribe living near the flooded quarry that used to supply work and profit for Belhaim. They haven't caused any problems to the town, so I left the rumors unchecked. Apparently that was a mistake. Please drive the kobolds out of the region. Kill them if you must, but I'll leave the exact method to you and your team. Drive the pests off, and I shall offer a dozen amethysts, each easily 100 gold crowns in value."

What do the others do in the Wise Thorn tavern while Jinx speaks with the Baronness?

Lady Devy does ask one more question. "Are the tower ruins safe or should we expect any other shifting?"

Regardless of the answer, the baroness lets Jinx go to her rest.

Belhaim map combat map

The unusual makeup of the party causes most people to still be in shock and at least ambivalence the first foray through. By lunch though, word has spread of the party's action and some people start talking.

There's a general store, Tymek's along the southern portion of town. There's also a moneychanger, Grellen & Sons, that will also deal with items of value, too.

DC 15 Kn: Local or Diplomacy:

Both the general store and moneychanger are aligned with Abadar.

The party does discover that within the town, there are three groups trying to guide Belhaim's future. The Abadarians wish to see Belhaim grow and prosper, trying to invite new businesses and industries to push things forward. The Shelynites enjoy Belhaim as it is, a simply, cozy town that would be marred of its rustic feel by new development. Finally, those of the Green Faith wish for Belhaim to be more reverent to the Verduran Forest that the town calls home.

Things are tenuous between the three groups and aligning with one faction or another may make a difference in how others will react to you or how difficult it will be to win someone over. Even if someone is with a different faction than you wish to align with, you can still try to influence him/her with doing favors or making a Diplomacy check.

Everyone can attempt another Diplomacy or Kn: Local check again to find out more about the town or seek out rumors/work. Otherwise, you can do your shopping. Without trying to influence anyone, the party will receive 600gp for the teak case and its gems and another 75 for the turquoises from the kobold.

Will continue with Jinx for bit till we have found a good buyer.

Wakiyan inquires more with the green faith trying to find out more information about them.

Diplomacy: 1d20 ⇒ 15

Grand Lodge

Belhaim map combat map

@Wakiyan: The Green Faith is arguably the oldest of the factions, but has the fewest members among its ranks. The majority of their members are farmers. However, some notable businesses that ally themselves with the Green Faith are 'Baccus Smithy', the only blacksmith in town, the Dodgion Livery, the Biton Lodge where hunters gather, and Anagrit's Cottage where the herbalist resides.

Locations are marked on the map!

Seeing that any choice the group makes seems to have some weight to it that is not fully understood, Jinx returns to the bar hoping for answers.
Talia, could you help with something? I noticed a couple of groups about the town who seem very interested in our dealings. Is there anything that we should be wary of?

Grand Lodge

Belhaim map combat map

@Darb: An older man, with bushy white mutton chops raises an eyebrow at the goblin's entrance, but nods accordingly when he sees the teak box and the sack. He inspects the contents, humming to himself. "Need to be able to make a profit off these; too. But good stuff you got here. 700 gold crowns for the lot the teak box and its contents, plus the gems you received from the kobold."

@Darb: You'll have to make some sort of offer or inquiry to get a better deal!

@Jinx: "Ahh, you've noticed the mild schism in town. At least it's not violent, but things can be heated between them. The town worshiped Shelyn originally and a number of druids from the Green Faith joined as well, when it was founded. Rule by the Canteclures over a century ago saw Abadar rise as a popular deity. Now the Abadarians want the town to go back to its previous prosperity although the Shelynites like the current status quo."

"Honestly, I've been praising Shelyn since birth; so my opinion's probably a bit biased. "Even if you don't worship one faith or another, publicly supporting one group or another will get you some friends and enemies. I can put in a good word with you to some people, if you wish."

Talia can grant a +4 bonus on the next Shelynite you try to influence, Jinx. Likewise, don't forget you still owe payment to the flirtatious Nilos at the Shrine of the Seven Roses :)
