Fiend series | Shackles

Black dragons swoop around overhead, spewing acid and occasionally diving into the crowd, using their fear aura to whip everyone into a panic.

Patrols of goblins run amok through the Irorium, indiscriminately hacking at the frenzied crowds, screaming wildly, blocking exits, and sowing as much chaos as possible. One such patrol is heading your way!

The red goblin seems not to mind Rose's spell and charges her new companion! His short sword is deflected by the seat and she escapes without harm. It's companion moves forward and fires a shot at the hated dwarf at the other end of the heroes. The arrow flies over the head of Dreggar.

Lara sends an arrow into the general direction of one of the dragons circling overhead. It looks at her with it's big eyes and then sees the goblins. A moment later the dragon is off to harass other pathfinders.

Penelope calls down Sarenrae's favor on Lynn while Dreggar moves closer to his ancient enemies. Annastacia calls down a bank of fog and Rose tries to find out what end of her weapon to use to attack the goblins.

Both goblins have trouble finding their targets!

Lynn would bite down hard to fight back the pain of the wound, taking a step back she began a hymn. She would welcome the holy shield and the shrouding mist, hopefully giving her time to utilize her own magic.

Assuming We Move On per the overseer:

"We'll never make it down that side street, it'll have to be the market. Time to climb folks. Get up on one of these buildings and I'll get us across to that thing."

Anna starts moving through the market looking for the right sort of building near the barricade. Finding one, she clambers up, then looking towards the sky begins to weave moonlight together. A bridge appears, arcing out from one building to the barricade.

"There. It's a Moonlight bridge. I'll have to cross last, but otherwise it gives us an easy way to get over the barricade. Not perfect for dealing with the inevitable goblins, but that's why we're pathfinders, right?"

As they struggle towards the Grand Lodge and into the market, Nella quickly ducks for cover as more enemies show themselves. "Good idea Lynn," she whispers. "Is that woman with the goblins? If we can catch her we might be able to get some information out of her!"

"Whatever we're doing, let's be swift about it. They almost assuredly see us," Lara says as she sees the manned barricade. The archaeologist moves toward one of the buildings to the north. Assuming she can see the goblin on the other side of the barricade, she launches an arrow at him.

Assuming Red Goblin is visible at the end of her move, then she uses a swift action to activate archaeologist's luck and then shoots.

"H-hey! They're getting away! After them!" she calls to the others as she also begins to make her way in the direction of the Lodge.

When the group finally makes it to the Grand Lodge, the priestess gapes with amazement at the sight of the massive doors - closed for the first time she's ever seen. As more and more fellow Pathfinders begin to arrive at the gate, she looks around at the rest of her companions. "Okay, so we need to get inside. Any ideas? Can we try breaking it down?"

Lynn grabs the stall she was hiding behind as another explosion shakes the ground, "I feel sorry for anyone who isn't holding onto something sturdy." Peaking over her protection she sees the enemies fleeing once again, she frowned feeling that this would come back to bite them later.

Looking at the massive gate closed once again she realized how much larger it looked when tasked with actually scaling it. She looked at Lara's grappling hook rope combo, "If you have enough rope to go up there I can quickly knot it to make it easier to climb. Just say the word."

Lara nods. "I'd say there's a good twenty feet of spare length," she says, handing Lynn the rope. Once knotted, she twirls the grappling hook around like a bola to get some momentum and lets fly.

Lynn would take the rope, set it on the ground and then cast Animate rope.
"Coil and knot."
The rope would spring to life knotting itself before moving into a neatly piled coil as to not get caught on itself.

One group of more mechanically minded pathfinders move to the locking mechanism and start tinkering with it aided by a liberal application of grease, a number of ropes are thrown to the top and people begin clambering up the walls. In another location, another group try brute force and trying to smash their way through. A stone bridge appears out of nowhere, then the flap of wings as a giant roc arrives to pluck people up and drop them on the far side - allowing them to form a defensive perimeter….

Within a minute, the outer gates give way to the small army of ninety highly motivated Pathfinders and their sheer brute force, magic, and mechanical knowledge.

Nella watches with interest as Lynn and Lara set to work readying the rope for climbing. "Definitely easier," she agrees with Rose as the group quickly find themselves with a way over the gates. "Looks like we weren't the only ones with that idea..." she adds as she glances around at the work of the other Pathfinders. "Whoa! Did you see that? That bridge just appeared out of thin air!"

Rope secured, Lara climbs to the top of the wall. Unshouldering her bow, she surveys the scene on the inside of the Grand Lodge's walls. I wonder if I knew any of the fallen, she thinks. Nothing I can do for them now...

I'm roadtripping the next couple of days. Should still have time to post at least once a day but maybe not as often as I would otherwise.

The tree goblins at the back step out and fire arrows in the general direction of the pathfinders. The last two also fire arrows into the sky and then drop their bows, drawing short swords.

I think the first goblin actually connects with his attack as my AC was lowered due to my charge. I will apply the damage proudly. :)
