This is the discussion thread for my run-through of the We be Goblins modules. At the time of writing there are two, but We be Goblins Free will be available end of June 2015 and we will also run that one. There are four places available, of which one is reserved for Don Jon Dux.
I roll initative for everyone at the start of combat and will post a list that looks like this
Initiative
Combat modifiers like bless or inspire courage are posted here
Player A
Player B
- - -
Enemy 1
- - -
Player C
Player D
- - -
Enemy 2
In this case Player A and Player B can act, and Players C and D can not. If Player B posts his action those action are resolved and I change the tracker to:
Initiative
Combat modifiers like bless or inspire courage are posted here
Player A
- - -
Enemy 1
- - -
Player C
Player D
- - -
Enemy 2
- - -
Player B
If Player B wanted to wait to see what Player A did before acting he needed to either wait with posting or put in conditional clauses in his post like
If Player A flees the combat
Bertrand runs after Aloward, deciding that this enemy is too much for them to handleIf Player A casts a spell
Bertrand gawks at Alowards and mumbles "I didn't know you could do that!"In any other case
Bertrand steps up to the Aspis agent and attacks him with his greatsword[/b]
In other words: in the same initiative bracket your actions get resolved in posting order, not initiative order.
These modules use pregenerated characters (see campaign information for links). You will earn a chronicle for playing each module for 1 xp, at the time that chronicles are awarded you need to choose a (RPG PFS) character that will earn the credit. If there are at least 3 players who prefer to apply the credit to a Core character we will do that.
Please select a pregen that is not taken and post your PFS information here:
- Pregen you will use
- Your PFS-ID

Wow. Just wow.
Important things first: Thank you GMG for this delightful surprise!
For those of you who don't know (or don't know me, or don't know GMG), I've had the pleasure of playing at his "virtual table" more than once. We Be Goblins came up in Discussion for a game I'm currently in, and I casually remarked I'd not yet played it.
And, like the shoemaker, while I slept those pesky elves got busy. I awoke to find a shiny new game waiting... with my name engraved on it, to boot. How can one not love that kind of accommodation!
GMG, I think between Wyeth setting a trend for wearing skeletal remains as a helm and my goblin-sized pyromaniacal bomb-lobbing Doc, Mogmurch is the obvious choice for me. My PFS ID is 114511.
Two questions (which might be answered by reading the intro material, so forgive me for rushing to get this post up first):
1) Is Rempty intended to be a Constant Companion (and if so, would she be allowed into the secret meeting)?
2) Does the Moot House meeting happen before or after the feast? Because if before, poor Moggy is hungry...

Hi, JAF0!
I just found out there are alternate pregens for these modules. If you really yearn for Mogmurch and GMG doesn't mind, I'd be willing to look through those and see if there's something else that strikes my fancy. I haven't even started building the alias yet, so I have nothing invested in Mogmurch.
P.S. I've also done Rise of the Goblin Guild. Not related and, from what I understand, a totally different "feel."
GMG |
Hi guy!
I will reach out to some of my other players to see who will take the last two seats.
Don Jon Dux / Mogmurch:
1) your choice how you treat Rempty. It's also your choice whether you bring him with you or not.
2) the feast is this evening, after you have talked with the chief.
Jaf0:
The series consists of:
1) We be Goblins
2) We be Goblins Too
3) We be Goblins Free (to be published end of June)
If you've never played as a goblin you can be sure you haven't done these

We will do the proper start after Easter, until then you can wait outside the Moot House...
Have fun finding eggs!

Poog - just so you know - you can dot the thread, then delete the post, and your dotting of the thread will remain even tho the post is gone.
Poog . |
Good to know. Any way to remove threads from my tracker without waiting for them to be marked inactive?

You can hide them on the messageboards overview.
Click messageboards in the
"Paizo/Messageboards/Paizo Community/..." line underneath each thread, and find the thread you want to remove: press the slashed 0 next to '50 seconds ago' and finally press the "hide (slashed 0)" on top of the list.

Lekku, gob gob is fine. Can you set up your statusbar like Mogmurch, Chuffee and Poog have done? Check their aliases to see where the info goes
Mοgmurch |
"We be here. Nothing start this week." Mogmurch taps his chin and looks at the sky. "Me think somebody name Ester make this happen."
Then he shrugs. "But if you lonely standing in street Mogmurch come annoy you, okay?"

Just a quick update on my status:
My father in law is having triple bypass surgery on Tuesday. I will be on the road traveling on Monday, at the hospital on Tues. and perhaps home by Thurs or Fri. depending on his recovery. During that time, I will be posting but times and frequency may be weird or spotty. My apologies in advance.
Mοgmurch |
Ouch. My brother had a multiple bypass a few years ago, so I feel your (and your father-in-law's) pain. Please give him my best wishes for a smooth procedure and a speedy recovery.
And: Family comes first.
Chuffee |
I'm sorry - the gameplay thread wasn't updating for me and I thought the game hadn't started yet. I will read up now that i'm home and catch up, make a post if it's not too late to start... Again, apologies for my lateness... I've been home since yesterday so no excuses other than the lack of updates.
GMG |
no problem Chuffee, just jump in! No update today, it is late and I am off to bed.
Mοgmurch |
Poog, just to be clear: This is not intended as PvP! Mogmurch is simply an overly enthusiastic and unwise (WIS 8) goblin, and I'm trying to play him that way.
And for comedic effect. :o)
But if you feel put-upon please speak up and I'll stop. Or you can grab his foot and bite his toes. Or something. :oD
Mοgmurch |
Apologies for the delay, last day of a massive crunch at work. Will post later today and things should start back towards normal from there.
GMG |
Guys, I am out of country until next Friday, May 1st. Do not expect any posts, anything I get in is a bonus.
GMG |
Quick check-in to let you know that I am still here, will continue later this week. Swamped with work atm. My apologies
Mοgmurch |
This has actually been good timing for me. I was supposed to be clear of the crunch at work but we had an issue that threw me back in the maelstrom for an additional week. I've fallen way behind on most of my games and am only now starting to catch up (for a second time).
So, the games that went quiet for a while - - like this one - - were actually greatly appreciated. :o)
Anyway, don't sweat it. I betcha everyone understands about real life getting in the way.

No problem... I can wait... was hoping it was something like this (and not a health issue or something... hate to hear people have been sick)
Chuffee |
I am going in for surgery tomorrow. It is a one-day out-patient procedure but I probably won't post much if at all tomorrow, at least until nighttime... depends on how I feel... bot me as necessary if required. Thanks.
Mοgmurch |
Wow, I hope it's a super-minor thing and you'll fly right through it. Moggy will lick a few toads in your honor! Be safe, be well!
Chuffee |
All went fine - I'm home and recovering... thanks for asking... I feel fine, minimal pain and swelling.. I should be up and around later today..
GMG |
You haven't seen me around for some time for which I apologize. Some three weeks ago my computer broke down and it took about a week to get it repaired.
In that time I also experienced that I had too much on my plate and instead of being honest about that to myself (and you) I dropped the ball and did not resume posting when the technical issues were sorted out. I felt obliged to get back to you, but that became harder with every passing day. I finally have found the courage to get back to the Paizo site.
I have had a lot of fun playing in all the PbP's I have been in, but I feel that I need to take a step back and stop playing online for the time being. It might be that when my work and personal life willl settle down again that I will be back, but I feel I should not promise to posting regularly right now.
Thank you for the very nice games we have shared.

Stick around, guys - GM Baerlie has offered to take over.
Thanks for taking this on, and letting us know about the overcommitment, GMG.
