Even though the wound from the guards attack smarts, Khouri has little else he can do with no weapon and no magic available. He steps forward and tries to knock the quarterstaff from the hands of Blue.

Surprised the man escaped Raynor's grasp, the monk tries to trip him before he can get too far. While the man manages to jump over the leg sweep, Bo continues his spin and brings his heel crashing into the man's solar plexus.

Saldin's lunge for the rapier is hampered by a swing of Raynor's shield and he falls to the ground just as his hand grasps it. As Raynor tries to quickly grab him, he stabs awkwardly, just enough to keep the paladin from getting a good hold, but not enough to prevent the monk's foot stomp.

Khouri tries to steal a staff himself, but is just barely rebuffed. Nergi's disarmed monk steps to the nearest tent pole and tries to wrench it loose. provokes from Bo

You could give chase, but judging from the startled reaction of several nearby patrons and shop-owners, you might be better off finding the statue and disappearing before the market guards arrive.

Khouri's head hurts where he took a whacking but despite the headache, he helps the others look for the statues. "It is most ignoble for that merchant to flee his stall in the middle of market day. How many missed opportunities for trade! Anyway, let's find this statue and begone, we don't want to upset the sanctity of the entire marketplace."

If the others make the find, the dwarf tries to smooth things over with either the neighbors or the authorities ,if they arrive.

Strangely, the occupants of the other stalls do not approach, but rather look on in astonishment at the events that have transpired. Bo quickly finds an iron statue hidden in one of the larger spice trays. It weighs about 3 pounds, is roughly 8 by 12 inches in size, and depicts an eagle in flight with its wings expanded to their fullest.

The guards never actually come to the stall, and the group (minus Smarmy, who found his own route back to the gatehouse and collected his belongings) eventually reach the front of the market and retrieve their weapons.

Raynor is slightly rebuffed when he inquires about aiding the market as he is told that would be up to the individual merchants within and that if he can secure a stall licence from some means, he is welcome to join the market.

Feel free to ask the guards any remaining questions you might have, otherwise you are move on to the next encounter on your list.

After picking up his weapons and exiting to the streets, Raynor addresses the group, "What happened here was unfortunate, but we did not provoke Saldin. His reaction to us was... interesting. Almost as if he had been waiting for us. Let us hope the other locations will be less controversial. Did any of you find the statue or the stall license? The Society contacted me early on and asked if there was a way for them to set up a stall in the Secure Markets, and the license would allow them to use it as a front for their undercover activities, including but not limited to the freeing a slaves here in Sedeq. If so please let me know. For the time being, let's move on to Nasir Tandir and Viraj Arpaniis in the Overmarket near Candlewood and Zephyr."

Bo pulls a small statue out of his bag. "I believe this is what we were looking for." He holds it at arms length to consider the item, "I thought it would be ...bigger." There is no mention of Smarmy's search through the stall. It is possible the monk was so focused on his task that he did not notice anything else went missing.

Khouri knows nothing about a license and tells the captain so. "What is our next location to find one of these statues?"

Once they are outside the anti-magic field of the Secure Market, the warpriest uses his wand to cure the injuries sustained in the tussle with Saldin.

Nasir Tandir seems to be the next logical target, so you head over toward his warehouse from Torch's directions ("near Candlewood and Zephyr") augmented by a few words with the local citizenry once you get there.

As you are moving there, Bo Goh is suddenly aware +22 perception! that there are two men obviously following you at a "safe" distance. They wear studded leather armor and shortswords at their sides. They don't look like the city guard at all, and they aren't moving as if to ambush, perhaps just to keep an eye on you.
