Sorry for the lack of posting. This weekend was crazier than I thought it was going to be.
As soon as combat ends, Owyn uses his two prepared lesser restorations on himself.
Lesser Restoration (x2): 2d4 ⇒ (4, 4) = 8
He'll then purchase a scroll at the moastary upon arrival.
Lesser Restoration: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Sweet! I'm back at full STR.

Upon arriving at the prison, Owyn nods at Fendahl's statement, adding "Agreed, but we must do something quickly before this escalates into a full-scale prison riot."
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
I'll wait to see what everyone else rolls before making a move.

Algor, his keen eyes ever ready to spot an eager mind in a crowd ready to receive his wisdom and sage advice, points out the "ohbvious" to his allies.

"Well, there's a sehcret doohr right there!"

When you say this:

EndlessForms wrote:
Unfortunately as you arrive, the agents in charge of letting the prisoners go—dressed in Pashow’s pale yellow, black, and maroon colors—are already starting to free convicts.

Do you mean they are freeing the prisoners rather than simply moving them to another facility? I thought Aspenthar-born were actually legitimately allowed to participate today? Are we supposed to prevent the release of foreign-born prisoners? Or just Korholm baddies from using propaganda or something to stir up the local born prisoners and incite them into violence? Trying to figure out how we help here...

Algor scans the men in yellow, black and maroon.

"I wonder if those are actually the real guards or ihmposters?"

Sense Motive (what's really going on?): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

Just for clarification, because it's a bit confusing:

Marcos Farabellus wrote:

"According to the princess, the Korholm Agenda has been coordinating mischief with the guards of Aspenthar. Having failed to deprive the emir economically, it appears the Korholm Agenda aims to frame Pashow for an attack on Prince Zinlo’s city. These false-flag operations would be the catalyst for Zinlo to declare war and conquer Pashow by force.

...the prince is permitting the temporary release of Aspenthar-born prisoners to enjoy the festivities...."

And earlier:

Quote:
Most of the guards are out escorting the Aspenthar-born prisoners in observance of the Sun Orchid Festival, leaving all foreign-born prisoners under the care of a skeleton crew.

So the fact that the guards...

Quote:
...dressed in Pashow’s pale yellow, black, and maroon colors—are already starting to free convicts...

Should tip you off that these are just Korholm agents in disguise causing trouble, yeah.

So what's the plan then?

The half-black, half-white tengu nudges Algor in the side as he speaks softly to the man. "Grab their attention with your speeches. Perhaps that will agitate the guards hoping to cause problems. Mention that we need to detain the prisoners for a bit due to the div attack on the priests. Safety concerns and the like." he advises as he moves up to the guards.

"Greetings." Braugher says with a small nod to the guards. "The Aspenthar prisoners should already be released and being accompanied by guards. Why are these prisoners being released? More importantly, why are they being released without an escort?" he asks. "The temple of Sarenrae's performance was attacked by divs, though we dispatched with them easily. No casualties. Lyheri thought that an attack on guards or military might occur so we came here. Is there a problem we can help with?" he asks, hoping to find out more from the problematic situation before acting.

I have no idea on where to place myself on the map. I'm not quite sure where I would be for my actions.

Fendahl (after casting his buffs) would move with Kirrah to accompany Braugher, providing some support should the guards not cooperate.

Indeed. As the wise say, 'There is no honor among thieves'. Honorable guards must ensure the conduct of these prisoners during the festival. We are here to provide assistance in this task.

It's odd, but my player spider-senses suggest if I'm finding a secret door, that perhaps there's not a bunch of "false guards" just milling about outside? Or there's a "fuzzy amount" of them and we're essentially working to thwart the majority of remaining Korholm agents from releasing non-Aspenthar born prisoners. Perhaps if they don't share the sacred beliefs of the holiday, they are more likely to disrespect it and cause trouble?

Reserving my actions and speaking until I know where and what NPCs are on the map, if any. If there are some, Algor will absolutely go up and start talking about unrelated concerns. If there are not any, then it would feel like using the secret door to get inside and take a look around might make some sense, perhaps using magic to help cover our entry?

Not sure how to help. I think it might be good for a few of us to go through the secret door while others enter from the front. That said, we stretched ourselves thin last time. I'm unfortunately now in the heat of tax season, so I am happy to follow any plans the group makes.

Oswin moves along with the team, admiring the prison's construction for a moment. He notes with interest the door that Algor points out. The cleric is a bit quiet, trying to decide if and when the use of force might become necessary.

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

Sorry, I was working in Indiana again and storms/tornadoes knocked out our internet earlier this week for a while and I'm still catching up after missing a couple days.

The party opts to head through the front to confront the Korholm agents trying to wrongly free foreign prisoners. The modest receiving room contains a desk, half a dozen chairs, and a ledger for recording inmates’ status, crimes, and dates of entry and release.

There is a man standing at the desk, supposedly giving orders and seeing to the release of prisoners. Another guard has just entered, leading another prisoner towards the entrance for release. The man behind the desk responds, "I am guessing that you are travelers and have come for the Sun Orchid Festival, so perhaps you don't know that it is tradition to release prisoners temporarily so they can enjoy and observe the festival. These are orders from Prince Zinlo himself and it is a tradition in our community. Now, if you could please show yourselves out, we have work to do and I'm sure you want to get back to the festival."

GM, prior to combat, I would've used my detect evil ability and was wondering if any of the combatants pinged on my "radar". It wouldn't change my prior actions. It'll just let me know who to pound on my turn.

Also, I'll be traveling again tomorrow through next Wednesday. I'll do my best but posting might be a bit slow. Thanks for being patient! The Indiana-Wisconsin commute for these couple of months is turning out to be much harder than I imagined.

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

@Owyn: My bad! I knew detect evil was Sp and not Su and I have this distinct memory of another GM using an NPC to freak out on a paladin for "casting" in a social situation when the paladin tried to detect on the guests at a party. But it has been pointed out to me that Sp do not have components so you can cast it mentally. I guess that GM was wrong and I've been doing it wrong for a while. Carry on! You note that the agents are all evil, as is the prisoner being led out.

Just a reminder that any slowed agents shouldn't be making full attacks.

Algor frowns as everyone doesn't slow down and pay attention to his dire orations regarding Golarion's future and instead turns his focus on a single agent.

"You there! Kohrholhm Aghent.. you dohn't have to do what you are doing.. there is a higher calling among adherents of the Greheen Faihth..."

Algor selects an agent that is moving fast still that appears unharmed.

Owyn bristles at the detection of the evil auras of these men but does his best to maintain composure. Once combat breaks out, he sighs before drawing his sword and muttering "Very well then."
Try as they might, the guard's attacks cannot penetrate the paladin's armor. He ignores their swings and takes a 5-ft. step forward to smack at the (red) enemy, activating the fires of his longsword as he swings.

Perception DC 30: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (4) + 13 = 17

"You there", the cleric turns to the prisoners, "get back to your cells, now!"

Once they are imprisoned again, he comes back to the party: "do we have anyone wounded?"

@Fendahl save your wand's charges, we found potions! :)

Braugher appears out of the ether. His feathered body is caked in dried blood and the tengu looks extremely worn out. "Luckily, I didn't have to go all out..." he mutters as Tico commands the prisoners back to their cells.

"We should make to the Prince's speech to ensure it's safety, but I need a moment..." he says, out of breath as he meditates on the floor of the prison, slowly rotating the Core Formation in his dantian as he recovers from the battle, spitting out black blood every so often as his inner wounds heal.

I will use the potions and my wand to heal my self-inflicted wounds. Braugher no longer cares about the prison and is focused on the last ambush, so he doesn't care what the prisoners do at this point.

@GM - no problem for me! I actually can sort of keep up.

Oswin grimaces as the flames wash over him.

Reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

He feels the full force of the burning, and stands stunned as his allies finish off the enemies.

He uses a wand to heal his injuries.

Can we call it 7 charges?

He gives the prisoners a cold stare as Tico orders them back. He then turns to the group:

"Well done. I agree with Braugher, we should make our way to the speech as soon as we're ready."

Algor places a hand on Braughter and Oswin's wands after they've drank some of the potions, motioning for the group to rally around him.

While tending their wounds, he continues to orate on the necessity to be mindful of overworking forges in crowded cities.

If anyone still needs healing, Algor can certainly channel again. You guys might as well save your personal consumables.

Hrrmm, yes. Enough. Recess is over and back to the cells. We need to make sure no more of these traitors are in the compound.

Fendahl uses the wands and bows to Algor for the extra healing.

Many thanks, Master Algor.

The prisoners were hopeful that they might actually be released but are also not willing to revolt, having seen your capabilities and being somewhat resigned to their fate. They offer no serious problems as you escort them back to their cells and lock them back in.

When they arrive across town at the palace plaze, you find the plaza filled with Aspenthari citizens. Excitement fills the air as the people wait for Prince Zinlo to arrive and deliver his speech.

You are free to move about the plaza and situate yourselves as you see fit. Basically the 15' around the fountain is crowded with people. You can make a Perception check at this time. I'll describe the start of the speech in the next update, pending your successes with Perception.

Fendahl bids his summoned dire lion fare well
it only lasts 10 rounds, with searches/healing etc, probably gone.

Hrrmm, the Prince's speech seems an idea time for the dishonorable to pose their third attack.
