    APL = 2.8 -> 3.0, which is between subtiers.

    Guide, p 32 wrote:
    Starting with Season 4, scenarios are designed for six characters and contain instructions on how to adjust the scenario for four-character parties. When the APL of a table is between two subtiers (like APL 3 for a Tier 1–5 scenario), a party of four characters must play the lower tier without any adjustments for party size. A party of five to seven characters whose APL is between two subtiers must play the higher tier with the four-character adjustment.

    High tier with 4-player adjustments it is!

    Just to let everyone know: we are in the final fight and if everyone keeps the pace up we will hopefully finish in a few days. On Friday I'll be heading back to Indiana so ideally we can finish by then but if not the ultimate deadline is next Wednesday.

    Let this be a lesson to everyone to invest in an oil of bless weapon or four as soon as possible on all of your characters! It's only 50 gp and usually one of the first things I buy on my characters. With a couple oils to bypass this thing's DR and stop its regeneration you guys could have wiped this thing by now. Just a little advice for the future.

    At least you had the monkeys to save the day! It's not so bad without its kukris.

    Well you handled the monkey encounter peacefully and the encounter with the looters peacefully so that sped things up a lot. The only thing I kind of handwaved was that you could have chosen to go hunting with them the first couple days and I would have rolled for random jungle encounters. Then you only need to hit them once to take them down. It could have been cool and normally I would have done it just for the flavor of Roosevelt-style big-game hunting but since we were on a time constraint I decided that we didn't have time to hunt random jungle animals.


    Cool cool! Was still lots of fun, just wasn't sure if this was Paizo new attempt for the reduced time on scenarios that it foreshadowed.

    That's mostly for high tier scenarios I think. And I also agree that it's a good move. Too many of the 7-11 scenarios from seasons 4 and 5 take 5-6 hours even though they advertise their scenarios as 4 hours long (and schedule cons with 4 hours per game).
