Brak considers the box with touchy-feely-ness:
Will: 1d20 + 1 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 1 + 2 + 4 = 23 (The +4 is for the physical interaction.)

![]() |

"Music you say?" Pierre moves up to the music box and whistles a tune from Galt through the pipes to get the notes and then tries to play the scripted music.
Perform(Wind): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20

EndlessForms |

Yeah, sorry for skipping ahead a little bit. You can try the others, I just wanted to set the next scene.
@Brak: you already got that box.
Pierre plays the tune expertly and finds a scroll collection of a complete symphony written by a Taldan master, now lost to time.
Just the riddle box left.

![]() |

Oops, my bad. I missed it.
Since I know the riddle, I'll go with Brak making an INT check...
1d20 ⇒ 1
"Riddle, what in Cayden's Codpiece is this all about?!

EndlessForms |

That would work for me. Although it's honestly not that hard of a riddle I'm sure someone can get it.

![]() |

Pierre has an intelligence higher than most, so the riddle seems quite easy to him.
"The answer is a f+#!ing 'dove'."

EndlessForms |

As Pierre says the word 'dove' the box springs open. Inside you find a collection of over 40 rare incenses along with a book of instruction. If burned in the proper combination, the incense collection can replicate a single use of incense of meditation.
And now we can storm Nessian's Pyramid! How do you want to approach?

![]() |

"We should storm the gate! Much like the Glorious Revolution..." Pierre spits on the ground after mentioning it. "... a direct assault is the best when overthrowing the entrenched."

![]() |

I agree with Umaga. Let's do this

Ah! Now I think the way to go about this, Hingle says, sketching a quick diagram in the dirt, is to let Brak take them single-handed. He can make a feint to the north-east— Hingle suddenly notices that Brak, Pierre, Umaga, and Zax have all left. Er...wait! Wait up! he says, as he scurries after them.

EndlessForms |

The party opts for the most direct approach and charges towards the door guarded by the dog!
baddies: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (5) + 0 = 5
Umaga: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Hingle: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Rhyfelwr: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Brak: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Zax: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Pierre: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Initiative:
1. Hinge, Pierre, Rhyfelwr, Umaga, and Zax
2. Baddies
3. Brak
Hinge, Pierre, Rhyfelwr, Umaga, and Zax are up!

![]() |

Pierre will draw his sickle and light hammer and move towards the door while the dog is being handled by Umaga.

![]() |

The gnome runs up into the area just as Umaga stabs with his spear!
Aah! No, no, Umaga! I was going to talk to it... Hingle's voice trails off as his hand is stretched toward the dog, all set to use his speak with animals spell-like ability, but instead just looking unhappily at the wounded pup and his half-orc companion.
Ready an action to use the SLA if the dog comes in Hingle's direction.

EndlessForms |

Two crossbows fire from the towers as the dog growls and bites at Umaga!
bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
trip: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
crossbow on Zax: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21

Initiative:
1. Hinge, Pierre, Rhyfelwr, Umaga, and Zax
2. Baddies
3. Brak
dog: 7 dmg
You guys are up!

![]() |

Upon seeing the enemies make their appearance, Zax decides to act and moves toward the western door, keeping close to the building in hopes of finding a bit of cover.

![]() |

Hingle cries out in pain as the crossbow bolt hits him squarely in the chest. Oh, that hurts, he thinks to himself. That's worse than when I got my hair caught in Aunt Reeba's Incredible Sheep Bladder Extractor...
He casts acid splash at Blue!
ranged touch: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
damage: 1d3 ⇒ 2
Then Hingle scurries over near Brak to try to avoid more bolts. Brak! Oh, thank goodness you're here. Tell me...do you think my jerkin is ruined now? I mean I just bought this thing...

![]() |

EF, you have a possible crit on Zax with the crossbow bolt, just wanted to let you know.
Umaga, again stabs at the dog, hoping to easily get past it and into the tower.
shortsepar: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22 for damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
presuming it dies from either Rhy or my attack. If it dies from Rhy, I will instead double move towards one of the towers.

EndlessForms |

Ah yeah, didn't notice the 20 earlier. Thanks!
confirm: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 6
Rhy misses the dog but Umaga puts it out of its misery. Hingle shoots back at one of the men firing from the tower above and hits him with a glob of acid!

2. Baddies
3. Brak

EndlessForms |

Pierre? Still having computer problems I guess? I'll move us on later this morning if he doesn't respond.

EndlessForms |

One of the men, seemingly stationed in the northern tower and tired of missing out on the slaughter fun, comes running around to assault you from the ground! The others continue to fire from the safety of their towers.

3. Brak

Zax moves to open/break down the door so that he can confront the man in tower. You can tell me how far I get and make any rolls needed for me, I don't mind.

![]() |

CHARGE!!! ATK: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 5 + 2 = 14 Brak abandons the door and heads straight for Red. DMG if hit: 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

EndlessForms |

Yeah, these old scenarios are often sparse on details like how tall the towers are or even what's inside them. No stairs are shown but it mentions them firing down on you. So I'll say it takes a move action up the stairs once you are inside the tower.
Zax moves into the tower and rushes up the stairs to confront the crossbowman! Hingle's acid only hits the stone wall while Brak easily cuts down one of Nessian's men! Rhy takes out the other man with a crossbow.
Initiative:
1. Hinge, Pierre, Rhyfelwr, Umaga, and Zax
2. Baddies
3. Brak
bl: 2 dmg
Pierre and Umaga are up!

![]() |

Umaga, will move towards the main structure of the tower, awaiting to go up and kick the crap out of the leader.
double move, into main tower unit. Will stop if I confront an enemy of course. I am hoping to be out of sight of the BBEG on the next floor(s)

EndlessForms |

Pierre and Umaga force their way into the main tower and find it guarded below by two more War Hounder thugs! A man wearing nicer armor and a shield, whom you can guess is Nessian himself, stands at the top of the stairs directing the men to defend the tower! Nessian's form is blurred and indistinct. Pierre cuts into the man nearest him.
Nessian directs his longbow at Pierre.
comp longbow into melee: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 3 - 4 = 19

Light Hammer: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6
His sickle misses, but his hammer lands true against the man, crushing a few bones.

EndlessForms |

Pierre's hammer takes down the thug, leaving only the crime lord Nessian to defend himself! He drops his bow and takes out his flail as he steps down the stairs to assault Umaga. "You won't be taking me alive!"

Double move again. "Damned fool building design."
I've got parent teacher conferences today, so I'll be away from my system the whole day, then I'll be partaking heavily of Guinness of Cure Light Wounds. So in case the action goes quickly, I'll post my next round now:
Move and SWING! 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21 DMG if hit: 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
