The key floats out of the flask and slowly lowers itself to the floor near Salador.
"Should it be washed off before we use it?"
I'll move forward with Jirani's plan if everyone is ok with that
First moving the flask to a safe spot in the room Olik next gently takes the basket and places it on the floor as well (with the bag of sand still holding the top down). He then helps Jirani to move the table to block off a corner of the room and picks up the basket. Looking back towards the group he warns :
"When you are all ready I'll dump the basket in the corner. Hopefully that will contain the snake and we'll see if a second key is in there."
Ready any actions you'd like

Tess pulls her bow and readies an attack against whatever comes rolling out of the basket, thankful for the quick thinking to enclose it away from the group.
Salador Gorgan

Salaador scratches his other temple as Olik prepares the table. He then sneezes as he gets a cloth to wipe off the key.
I'll try the key in the chests while you.. uhmm... uhh do that thing your doing
Salador tries the key in the middle chest and then the first one.
Tamarie Yangrit
|
"Salador, you okay? You appear to be..distracted.
I would wait with the key until we open the wicker basket, don't you say?"
Tamarie will ready her bow, and position herself next to Tessara, and in clear line of sight.
Olik Vogenson

Leaning over the table a bit Olik flips the basket over letting the cover fall off and the contents drop to the floor. Taking a half step back he looks at what is revealed.

If Tessara has line of sight on the creature, she will use her readied action and fire an arrow at the viper.

"I feel I should know this type of snake, since it probably came from Osirion, but I have to confess, my knowledge of animals is limited to the fact that most will die by a sword, if it comes to it. Perfectly happy to leave it to its own, if it leaves me to mine. Can you lift that key the same way, Olik?"
Salador Gorgan
|
okay I will try this key on the chests.
Salador quickly moves to the chest and tries the key he has while the others get the key from the snake.
it has got to work in one of these
Olik Vogenson
|
Olik focuses on the key, chanting quietly to himself. After a moment it floats into the air, moves across the room and comes to rest by the chests. Once that's done the linens are also extracted from the blockaded area.
Collecting himself for a moment Olik takes a look at the snake K:Nature (T10:16) and then checks through the linens too see if anything of interest is in or on them. If not he'll stuff them back in the basket.
If the snake is contained (or dead) he turns towards Salador to see how things are going with the chest.
Any luck with the keys?

"I hate snakes, Jirani. But if you keep it pinned up over there, I guess I'll stop shooting arrows at it."
Olik Vogenson

Was that actually subdual damage? If so that's great. I think it would be cool if we put everything back exactly like it was before we leave :) So after we use the key we'll put it back in the basket and put the snake back in there to.
Tamarie Yangrit
|
Yes, it was subdual. I forgot to add in the -4 to attack for using blunt arrows, but that would still reach 23, not counting possible cover. I think it's safe to assume the snake is out cold.
And yes, I reckon it would be nice. Like we were never here, adds to the mystique! :D

Salador seems a.little more pale and.beads of sweat start to appear on his brow.
Are these blasted keys going to work or not.
Salador begins to look around the room nervously.
Tamarie Yangrit
|
"He seems to be behaving strangely. Could this be magic? He was working on the trapped chest?"
"Salador, what are you looking for? Maybe I can help?"
Tamarie will keep a close eye on his hands, that they don't stray too far to his potion belt.

Sorry stacking actions again. If we're correct about the snake being knocked unconscious or even if it's dead, and if the linen is of no real interest Olik will do the following
Seeing nothing of interest on the linen Olik places it back into the basket. Taking a good look at the snake Olik gently picks it up and places it back in the basket as well.
Jirani would you give me a hand with this table again?
With Jirani's assistance he puts the table back in it's original position and then replaces both the basket (putting the lid back on) and the flask.

Salador are you okay. You don't look so good. Let me take a look at you.
Heal Check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20 to check whats up with Sal.
Volker will also use detect magic to check out everything he can see in the room and see if Sal seems to be under a spell.?.
Untill we can figure out what is wrong with Sal I think we should keep a little bit of a distance, and no one should touch that chest he was working with.

Sorry guys travelling again yesterday :)
Shortly after dumping out the contents of the wicker basket and seeing the snake hit the floor and start hissing aggressively Tamarie and Tessara both loose an arrow. Tessara's arrow goes wide clinking against the wall, as Tamarie's arrow smacks the snake knocking it out cold. Olik drifts the key over to Salador where he tries both his keys on the chests, starting with the copper-banded chest.
Salador-Will: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Without trying the second key on the chest Salador moves to the red lacquered chest. Trying the brass key, it does not even fit into the keyhole, trying the newly retrieved blue stone key it fits into the lock, turns and there is an audibly click as the chest unlocks.
Jirani: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Olik: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Salador: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Tamarie: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Tessara: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Volker: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
The red lacquered chest holds a key forged into the end of a jeweled scepter. Moving on to try the final chest, Salador inserts the brass key, it turns but the chest does not unlock. Volker looks around the room scanning for magical aura's.

Welcome back Dak!
Just to make sure I have this straight :
Copper banded chest is illusionary
Red chest opened with the blue key and provided a scepter with a key end to it.
Steel chest didn't open using the brass key.
Pointing up towards the key hanging from the ceiling Olik says :
So now we have three keys left and one chest. Tamarie if I give you a boost do you think you can reach that?
If Tamarie is willing Olik will stand on the metal chest (assuming the key is roughly above it) and boost her up to see if we can reach it.
If this wouldn't have been covered during his earlier inspection Olik will also check to see if the illusionary chest is covering/obscuring anything that shares its space.

"Be careful up there, Tama," the witch groans, worried about her niece. She keeps watch around the rest of the room, hoping no other surprises awaited them.
Salador Gorgan
|
Salador hurriedly takes the scepter key and tries on the third chest and looks for somewhere to use it on the door.
He looks pale is sweating and his breathing seems to be getting slightly labored.
lets get out of here... the walls...
Tamarie Yangrit
|
Man, this is confusing.
She looks at Olik, with a kind of questioning look, and tries to gather where she wants him to put the key.
She then puts the key in the box he nods, points or looks at, ready to jump away in case anything explodes in her hands.
"Salador, wait, for crying out loud. Don't make us put you in the basket with the snake, and stop behaving so...strange! You're creeping us out!"
Tamarie Yangrit
|
"Salador, that's not right, you're just... I don't know, upset?"
Tamarie looks around at the others, eyes asking for help.
"Euh... Spread your arms, and you'll notice it. The walls are still at the same distance... CLOSE YOUR EYES! FIGHT IT!"
Tessara Omelion PFS
|
"Be strong, Salador. I think we might be just about finished in this room. Close your eyes and come sit down beside me. I'll talk you through the malady you are suffering from while the others get that map."
| GM Dak |
Tamarie hops down and following Olik's instructions inserts the golden key into the steel chest. Turning it, ready to jump back, the chest unlocks and pops open violently....
Inside is a map of the Salhar burial vaults beneath Sothis and a wand.
Salador Gorgan

I am fine the.walls are not closing in... are about done in this tomb... I am fine.
Salador continues with his eyes closed and his arms outstretched.

"We are almost there, Salador. Keep yourself calm. The walls are not closing in. Remember that."
Tess looks up, wondering if Tama and Olik needed her assistance with what appeared to be a magical wand.

Olik looks to Tessara
I have no skill at identifying such things. Perhaps you skills would be better suited?
Olik hands Tessara the wand. While she looks at that he relocks the metal chest and places the gold key so it's obscured by the illusionary chest. Holding onto the brass and blue keys he says :
I think we're about done, go ahead and see if that sceptre will open the doors.
If it does once everyone is getting ready to leave Olik will relock the sceptre in the red chest, lock it and drop the blue key in with the unconscious snake and the brass key back in the acid.
That ought to give them something to think about.

Tess takes the wand and once again, calls on her power to detect whatever magical aura might be present.
