Sariel brings up a good point regarding getting marchin get order. How does this sound...
Normal Travel
- Jenna, scouting
- Artemis leading the main body | Can run up to Jenna if there's trouble
- Calia
- Doreen
- Damien
- Sariel
Damien and Sariel form a good read guard, Calia and Doreen get max protection, Artie is one half of the front guard with his shield and Survival skill and Jenna is the lead scout and the other half of the front guard.
Thoughts? Also, should we have a different lineup in cases of dungeon/castle crawling? Maybe Calia and Jenna leading?
Sariel Patrick Cornelius
I'm ok with it, especially outside, where surprise attacks are more viable. Once we get inside if we need another 'meat shield' up front we can move it around. Sariels focus is to protect the others and then accomplish the goal so guarding the rear is ok with him.

Little late to the party, but yes, that sounds perfect. :) I'll get posted in Gameplay later tonight.
Calia Pevanazee
I love digging through for the little random things my character can pack along to define them a bit more. My paladin of Shelyn had sleeves of many garments and a tattoo holy symbol before she had a masterwork weapon. :D

Hey, gang! I'll have a post revealing what you find when the body in the water is pulled ashore tonight. I'm currently at work and can't reference the module. Poo.
In other news, I'm going to New York this weekend! It's going to be an exciting few days. I doubt the game will be affected too much, but if I have to go a day without posting due to being busy in the Big Apple, that's why.
Also, Damien - LOL.
Calia Pevanazee
I could, except that it's medium-sized. So no, not that one. :)
Artemis Lihanuga
Artie's good with what he's got.
Calia Pevanazee
I think we each got a rope, right? So that's at least 300 feet we've got covered (or maybe more like 250 if we account for knots to give better handholds).
Budd the C.H.U.D.
250 feet should be enough to get you down the steepest part of the hill.
Using rope to aid in the descent will give you folks a +2 to the upcoming checks. Taking the time to create knots will grant another +2. So far, you guys will have a +4 bonus altogether if you choose to do this. Looking good so far... any other suggestions?
Sariel Patrick Cornelius
can gus get down the slope?
Artemis Lihanuga
Rolled a 1 on my CON Save this week, gang. Been laid low by a rip-roarin' viral cold, but I'll get back into the swing of things this weekend.
For now, Artie is on board with the plan for using the rope. But we may want to come up with a plan to get the rope loose. We'll probably need it later. *shrugs* What's the range on Prestidigitation? :)
Calia Pevanazee
Not quite that far. :) That's why I was thinking the strongest could try the descent without it - everyone else goes down, strongest unties the rope and descends on his own carrying it.
Artemis Lihanuga
Artie would definitely be enable to being the last one down. if he takes off his armor and such is climbing ability in so forth will be a lot better. That way at least we can save the rope! I'll do my very best to post up later today to that effect.
Calia Pevanazee
Btw, @Doreen...
Serious poetry, serious poetry, serious poetry...S~$$.
I lol'ed. :)
Calia Pevanazee
It's seemed to be a pretty slow weekend in all of my games, not just this one. Don't know what would have had such a wide effect, but it was something (or many somethings) for sure.
Budd the C.H.U.D.
Yeah, the whole week's been kind of slow, to tell you the truth. I appreciate the breathing room post-New York trip, but I really want to get the ball rolling and get a good pace again before I end up getting ahead of myself and opening up a third campaign... ;)
Calia Pevanazee
Oh good, so I'm not the only one having to fight too-many-game-itis...
Artemis Lihanuga
Artie tapping in...
Sariel Patrick Cornelius
too-many-games-itis??? what ever do you mean???
Calia Pevanazee
Between Kolby and Proudsnout, we've got a serious case of familiar sass in this group. :)
Budd the C.H.U.D.
I'm going to go take a well-deserved nap. If Jenna hasn't posted by the time I get back, I'll just bot her so we can keep it moving. I really don't want a day to go by without a post again, especially during combat, where turns are important!
Calia Pevanazee
Posting may be erratic the next several days. Stuff going on with my husband's family.
Artemis Lihanuga
Sorry gang, super busy week! I'll get caught up today and post up!
Budd the C.H.U.D.
So, what's the verdict, folks?
Should we open up re-recruitment or contact one of the players that just barely missed out on making it into the party? Now that it's been more than two weeks, it doesn't seem like Jenna will be a part of the group anymore (though the door is certainly open if she does return). I recall Tania and Forest being quite appealing options, so I could PM those folks to see if they're still interested in joining the game. Luckily, there happens to be a couple of spots in here that would make incorporating them into the ongoing action fairly seamless.
Lemme know what y'all think.
Calia Pevanazee
I say call in one of the folks that barely got edged out if they're still interested. Tania or Forest either one would work pretty well, although Forest matches Jenna's skill set more closely.
Artemis Lihanuga
Yup, make the call. I'm bummed Jenna isn't around and hope her player is OK. Especially the way they were writing her, lot of potential...
Budd the C.H.U.D.
Agreed, hence the open-door policy. I mean, it worked out beautifully for Warshawski in the Feast of Ravenmoor game.
In the meantime, I'ma send out some PMs.
EDIT: PMs sent. Hopefully we'll hear back from one of them shortly. :)
Also, I may not be able to post up until late tonight, as I have to reference my copy of the module and I don't have it on hand currently.
Sariel Patrick Cornelius
take your time Budd, were not going anywhere, well maybe to the fridge, but we'll be right back...
Budd the C.H.U.D.
Well, folks, Jenna has officially bowed out of the game.
I sent out PMs a few days ago to the players of Tania and Forest, my top two alternate picks to cover her role, but Tania's currently unavailable and I haven't heard back from Forest's player.
Thoughts? There were a ton of other great applicants, but none of them were the sort of roguish characters/ranged combat types that Jenna filled.
Calia Pevanazee
If we don't get any other rogue-ish characters, maybe I could change a trait out for the Mummy's Mask trait that gives trapfinding and move a skill point? Disable Device wouldn't be out of character for Calia - I'm not going to be as good at it as a proper rogue, but it'd give us a lot bigger pool from the former applicants.
Edit: I could either do that or borrow the trapfinding ability from the Archaeologist archetype that trades for versatile performance. (I know you're not technically supposed to take archetypes piecemeal, but I don't want to trade out bardic performance to just take Archaeologist outright, since Calia's focused on support.)
Sariel Patrick Cornelius
That sneaky doppelganger Sheamus is back! Somebody warn Sariel that he can't let that guy come buttin' in 'round these parts! ;)
Sorry about that Seamus is my thief if another game, At least Sariel is not as screwy as Taicho yet, course if Seamus was here we wouldn't need a trap artist...
As for a replacement we will probably need a trap finder more than we will need the ranged attack, should we ask someone to add it, or just re-post. How bad will it be if we just go on with out a trap artist?
Artemis Lihanuga
Yeah, I say recruit the thief. Artie can't roll 18s forever ;)
Calia Pevanazee
Budd, would it be ok if I gave her Disable Device and the trapfinding trait even if we do recruit a thief? A backup never hurts, and the more I think about it, the more I kind of wish I'd done it in the first place.
Calia Pevanazee
Ok, I traded Use Magic Device for Disable Device and traded Rapscallion for Trap Finder. I've got a +7 for Disable Device, so I should be passable until we possibly get a replacement.
Sariel Patrick Cornelius
nice call Calia, thanks Budd that makes going on easier!
