Shaking her head, she looks him in the eye. "no gunari. I truly am impressed by you. Jawgdia though I am I do not adhere to my races traditions. I yearn to experience the world outside. I though maybe, perhaps the Pathfinder Society might help me. I heard all your stories then I saw you slay those ulfen and now Rigrory. We are about to explore a ruins. How exciting. Not all share my views though. As you can see my aunt has been shadowing me. I needed to dusguise to hide from her. If we are successful maybe my mother will let me leave and join your society. "Bah! More deception," grumbles Lort, without malice towards Uliyara in his tone, "It is no more nor less than I expect from your people. We have a mission here, and if you do not get in the way, then we will continue to protect you from your family. The more winter wolves that die, the better."

Lort seems to remember something, and strides forwards to Rigiori's corpse, cuts his chest open and pulls free the heart. "Let us see if the tales are true!" Ever the bold one, Lort proceeds to devour the raw, muscular organ.

No more channels left, but feel free to get Lort to tap you with a CLW wand if you need it (just roll yourselves if you like).

With the fight over, Cyrus looks to his frozen extremities, and the bits of frost-charred flesh on his arms, face and neck. He looks at the witch revealed, curiosity in his eyes, but no malice.

"The society can do wonders for you when you are just trying to discover yourself. You're good in my book."

Cyrus turns as Lort devours the heart.

Dang... There goes my chance. Well, at least I will see if the stories are true... He did say he had a pack, there will always be another one I can hunt down...

With the immediate threat gone, Cyrus begins to look around for the real prize they came after, the piece of sky key hidden beneath the ice.

Uliyara Listens to what the pathfinders have to say. A look of contrition upon her face, she again apologizes. "friends if I may call you that, I also suffered from the cold breath of the winter wolf. Do you have any healing magics for me?".

so the entrance is to the west and now stands open since you melted the ice wall. Let me know when you are ready to proceed and if you want to buff or anything. Gunari what is the duration of your buff?

Miro barely has reacted, starting to sing while his companions efficiently blast the wolf into oblivion.

He tries to focus on the newly-transformed Jadwiga woman, but is utterly transfixed with watching Lort chop the wolf apart and devour some of the wolf apart and yank out the heart. He points at Lort and says in a sagely voice, "Now that is a badass, folks. Definitely writing a song about that."

Miro calls upon his bardic powers and walks up to Ibid and Amaranti, touching each of them in turn. He smiles, "May the Drunken God bless your weapons in our trials ahead."

Cast Heroism on Ibid and Amaranti (duration 50 minutes), will cast CLW on Uliyara if no one else happens to heal her.

Divine Favor only lasts 1 minute. I assume we're still in the same day that we encountered the brigands? If so, he uses his pearl of power to recall the divine favor so that he has one left to use.

"Not a problem, my lovely friend, Uliyara. We'll spend many an evening around a campfire, regaling each other with our tale of adventure, tipping back a pint or two. You are chilled? Then let me heal you. It is the least that I can do for a new found, if unexpected, friend."

He uses a charge of CLW from a wand

"Now, I hope that is better, my little darling. So, I noticed that you've been trying to stay out of battle, which I can completely understand. It is my calling to throw myself selflessly into battle... to fight the good fight... to risk life and limb so that others will not have to.

"However, I have to ask, do you have any skill that could help in the adventure ahead of us? I understand the jadwiga are often skilled in the arcane arts... perhaps that is your calling?

"But, worry your pretty head not... I shall sponsor your petition to join the Pathfinder Society, if that is your true wish. I shall be your mentor, your companion, your everlasting hero."

He believes all of this to be true... at least for now. Apparently the Priest of the Drunken Hero has found the love of his life... or at least the moment.

Gunari, his intent to aid declared, announces that it is time to toast the The Lucky Drunk, and to get this adventure started.

He toasts using his Tankard of the Drunken Hero to cast Heroism on himself for 30 minutes. He will also cast Resist Energy (Cold 10), which will last for 50 minutes, and right before they enter. He'll also use Blessing of Good on his rapier immediately before they enter (lasts 1 minute).

He may do something else depending on Uliyara's answer

Seeing the woman being still wounded, Amaranti takes his wand of Infernal Healing and unless Uliyara objects, uses its magic on her. "Good for body, bad for soul"

Once the route is clear, Amaranti starts preparing for their entry into the ruins. First, he casts Mage Armor from his wand on Kaisharga. Then, using the Metamagic Rod of Extend to enhance his spellcasting he casts Reduce Person on himself and Bull's Strength and Shield on his eidolon.

Then, the miniature Garundi mounts Kaisharga, and guides the eidolon to its place in the marching formation.

So the buffs happen just before entering the ruin

"Never let it be said that this follower of Kurgess failed to heal a wounded lady," says somewhat contrite Lort, producing his holy system, "No matter what her nationality or recent deeds."

CLW (sacrifice shield of faith): 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

Lort curls up his top lip at the necessity of touching Uliyara, but he does so and healing energies flow from him and into her.

"Well, let us get this over with then," he mutters, angry at himself and the whole situation. Manfully, Lort strides into the darkened ruins, greatsword at the ready. Seeing Gunari make preparations, he quickly decides the cleric has the right of it and also casts resist energy to ward off the cold before continuing on.

Haven't moved my token. Lort won't go far without the others, but he will replace Gunari at the front of the marching order (as far from the deceitful witch-blood as possible).

Seeing everyone else cast protective spells, Cyrus pulls out his wand of shield and manages to cast the spell on the first try just before he walks in.

so this day is a new day. You began the trek to nadalk point and fight with Rigrory with a full compliment of dalies. So Lott used his 2 channels to heal everyone who took environmental damage, Gunari used one daily and then I suggest you use clw to heal Uliyara. She was only down 13. I will move this along tonight if I can.

The old man digs through his heavily laden pack and raises up some manner of potion a few moments later. After drinking the strange potion to the last drop, he replaces the now empty container with great and careful ceremony. As he moves forward and takes his place with the others at the entrance of the ruins, he can feel a shiver transverse his skin while his gaze resolves clearer and more focuseD.

As the Pathfinders move into Naldak's Point, intricate gilded stone work adorns the entrance and a complex marble mosaic paves the floor. Arrow slits flank the north and south sides of the hall, but the north side has collapsed and is choked with rubble. On the eastern end, to 10-foot tall marble statues of armored dwarves flank a fresco depicting an opulent throne room. The faces of the statues have been broken off.

GM notes: ice covers the floor. Characters must spend 2 squares of movement to enter a square covered by ice and all acrobatics checks increase by 5. Nice job on the map. The first spoiler has been removed please move yourselves into the room. Lets go in rounds, so round 1 I assume double moves all around. The let me know if you want to spend time looking or keep moving to preserve your buffs.

After casting his spells on Amaranti and Ibid, Miro casually wanders into the structure, eyes flitting to the dwarven guardians of the hall. "Well, that's promising, all things considered." The halfling then looks about, his keen eyes looking for enemies, traps, or other surprises.

Healing arrangements look good to me.

Cyrus creeps in alongside the halfling, only registering the ice enough to know he needs to change how his feet hit the ground as he walks.

Weight over the knee, stay on your toes...

He peers into the arrow slits as he walks by, looking at the frozen floor, ceiling, and the statues in front of him. He doesn't expect danger to be lurking, especially since the place has been encased in ice, but he still hopes there will be something to challenge him.

Lort wanders in, careful not to walk too fast on the ice. I knew I forgot something - cleats! Never mind, too late now.

"Well, we may as well move in a little further," Lort suggests, "I can't imagine anything managed to survive centuries of being trapped in ice. I guess that leaves mechanical guardians and the like... unless there are tunnels leading deeper out to the wider world, I suppose."

Lort takes a peek around through the arrow slits and the like to see if he can spot anything of note.

Cyrus notices something that Miro did not, a door to the north. The remaining pathfinders make their way into the foyer, taking extra care in the icy foyer.

They are faced with a choice, there is a hidden path that Cyrus found to the north, or a path leading south out of the foyer.

Uliyara turns to Gunari, "I for one will stand and fight with you. I do not know why this Sky Key is so important to you all, but I will do my best to assist you in recovering it."

"Check hidden door first?" Amaranti asks, and command his eidolon-mount to fly towards the door. For once, he is very happy that Kaisharga grew wings, the ice looks very slippery, and Garundi are not very capable ice-walkers.

Evidently the Varisian is not so good on the ice, either... but that may be a combination of drink and armor.

Walking into the room, Cyrus sees the remains of what once had been a weapon cache. The residents seem to have cleared out almost everything but the Pathfinder are able to find a master work heavy steel shield and an ivory handled heavy crossbow +1 repeating heavy crossbow.

"Aye," the old man says, holding his arms wide to steady himself. "Good eyes indeed, Cyrus." Once he has regained enough composure on the ice, he wraps the longbow's weapon cord around his wrist and tightens the knot.

At least if I go down, my weapon won't go sliding away, he thinks, but is not comforted much.

Moving forward again, he catches up to the others and continues to examine the surrounding walls, eventually turning to look south as Miro suggested.

It's not that icy in here... is it? Cyrus muses as he watches everyone tiptoe around on the slippery surface.

After gathering the equipment from the room, he moves south again, keeping his eyes peeled for anything in this seemingly long-forgotten set of ruins.

"So who is going to use this hefty toy?" he says with a smirk, hoisting the complicated, and ornate crossbow.

Double moved down, let me know how many "rounds" it took to gather the gear from the secret room. I am guessing I will need to refresh my shield at some point, but everyone's 1min/lvl buffs are probably still ok for a good bit yet.

so sorry. Vacation kicking me.

Round 5

The pathfinders move south into the large chamber. Thousands of icicles cover the ceiling of this cylindrical chamber. The outside edge forms a perfect circular curve, cutting into stone without mark of chisel or tool, impossibly smooth. Only places where ice flows over the stone, or where the structures have collapsed mar the perfect precision of the cylinder. The remains of workshops and living spaces still furnished peak through holes in the cylindrical void. At the southern and western edges of the cavern large portions of the stone and ice have collapsed, cutting into the immense void with piles of rubble.

normal ice rules apply, and notice that the southern edge of the cylinder is a 20' drop. What room to next? North or east?

Cyrus skates into the expansive room, admiring the icicles as much as the magnificent architecture and craftsmanship.

"Hellloooooo..... Anyone in here?"

Cyrus skates around to the north door, careful of the edge to the drop off, checking it for traps and the like before getting ready to open it.

ok, two rounds of double move and another single move to get there. Standard action on the third (8th total) round to inspect the door.

Cyrus pulls out his wand of shield again, and refreshes the cast while he waits for his companions to catch up.

that brings me to a standard in the ninth round, waiting in front of the door for everyone to catch up. Hope I didn't take to much liberty, just wanted to give you something to go off of

Miro continues moving along with Cyrus and Gunari. Though he is rather well-balanced and doesn't slip and slide nearly as much as some of the others, he finds that his short legs are a real liability, as he can still barely keep up. He tries his best, though, continuing down the corridor with the others.

Lort gazes in amazement at the perfectly smooth void, "Fell magics indeed must have created such a thing. No sign of whatever was here, and entire rooms have been sheared off perfectly. On the positive side, it looks like no living beings were cut in half by this event."

When he sees their ninja preparing to unlock the door, Lort encourages Cyrus to move aside, "Come now, I don't think anyone will be locking their doors when they're home is entombed in ice!" As the half-orc's too-loud words echo through the complex and replay themselves in the uncanny cylinder, he flings the door open wide and steps inside the room.

Since the door may indeed be locked, I've shoved Cyrus to the east and left Lort at the threshold.

There is a lock to the door in he north, that Cyrus easily disables. As they move into the next room they see nothing but an empty cot and some manacles.

Gunari moves up to the door. Something tells him this is the time to use some spells. He realizes he should stop memorizing Bless, because it doesn't help beyond what Miro already does. However, he will cast the following spells prior to opening the door.

He will also (prior to the divine favor) add the Good Blessing to his rapier. (Cayden's Church Key?)

His intent is to make his weapon keen for a few rounds of fighting.

As someone who recently had to GM while on vacation, I totally understand.

As before, Lort assumes that nothing could possibly have thought or needed to lock a door inside this well-preserved place with a cone taken out of it. "Let's open this last door and see if we can't find that piece of Sky Key. You would have thought that the society would have been happy enough that you found and retrieved the last one while I was visiting my ancestors, but here we are again..." Lort grumbles without really meaning it, grinning all the while.

His sense of adventure veritably bubbling over, Lort eagerly throws open yet another portal into the past.

Suddenly the dwarf bursts from the ice, hatred burning in his eyes,, he points to Uliyara. His frozen jaw creaks open, but no sound emanates from his jaw. Bits of ragged flesh hang off him as he shambles towards them.
