The walls of this room are covered with murals depicting a glowing, white robed figure in various different scenes. In each scene, the figure seems to be healing powerful mythological creatures, and even one or two deities.
To the south opposite the door you just opened is a set of stairs leading up. There is also a door on the west side of the south wall and another on the west wall.
In the northeastern part of the room, there is a puddle of vile putrescence that bubbles and seethes, giving off a horrible smell. Five zombies are standing around this pool, apparently drinking from it, and they immediately move to the attack.

Hermann then finishes off another zombie as the remaining one advances. Quirmydt slashes it as it lunges for Jonas, causing it to explode in goo and pus over Jonas, Quirmydt, and Hermann Fort Saves for all three of you (Two total for Hermann counting the other one)
Combat Over!
Jokbur 'The Thorn' Oakenshield
"While you guys clean up, I will look carefully around."
Jokbur proceeds to examine the room.
Jokbur quips: "Another reason I like to take out things from a distance. Didn't see this benefit when I took up the bow."

Hermann was - yet again - liberally showered in indescribable filth. When Edmund once again used his magic to clean him off, Hermann thanked him with a most sincere, "Thanks, Ed, you're the best!"
"Qui, something less disgusting to fight would by anything else besides those! Let's just hope that you and Jocky can find us a path away from here... gods, I hope so!"

Ariella Fort 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Everyone except Quirmydt is feeling ill due to the zombie filth and pestilence pool in the last two rooms. Quirmydt for some reason seems to be almost enjoying it.
As the fight finishes and Edmund gets everyone clean, Jokbur and Ariella take 1 damage
There is a stairway leading up as well as the two doors.
Quirmydt Dephroug
Qui looks at the stairway and then the doors:
I think we should check the stairs first. They might lead up to someplace we have not explored before. I would hate to have something up there if we need to flee.
Jokbur 'The Thorn' Oakenshield
"As long as we find a sanctuary that we can rest in, I will fell fine. I agree that having a retreat route at all times is most prudent. But with these magical gateways I gave that up!"
Jokbur explores the stairs after looking at it quickly for traps.
Take 10 at base of stairs and proceed up.
GM Blood
Finding no traps, Jokbur signals everyone it is safe to go up them. As you reach the top of the stairs, you enter a room that is a mirror image of itself.
The north wall of this room is a mosaic that depicts you moving inside the room, as if it were a mirror. The south wall is painted, the stairs gone, and the painting, like the mosaic, has you all moving in it. The pictures in the mosaic and in the painting move as you move about in the room.
The painting reflects the room perfectly except for one detail in both. The north-wall mosaic shows a treasure chest sitting on the floor against the south wall about where the stairs used to be. The painting on the south wall shows the set of stairs that you walked up.
Quirmydt Dephroug
Qui stays by the stairs with his scimitar in hand not understanding, or trusting, whatever is about this room.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11 <-- keeping an eye on the stairs while watching the rest of the room for anything out of the ordinary - more out of the ordinary than illusory walls.
Unfortunately, the bizarre walls have caught his attention.
Jokbur 'The Thorn' Oakenshield
Jokbur takes his time searching this room.
Take 10 on perception at regular intervals.
"I will see if I can manipulate the illusory chest in the painting."
Jokbur moves carefully, checking his position in the paintings, to see if he can lightly touch the chest with a finger.
