Daedîn is a bit weirded out by the creature's sudden appearance but says nothing, wondering if it's real or an illusion. He moves to cover Heraclitus with his bow while it sits at the table with the creature...but stays away from the table, trying to remain as obscure as possible...

I've never seen a creature such as this in my studies. Although she doesn't pull her scimitar, Thalionwen keeps it at the ready, expecting something bad to happen at any moment.

The figure nods as Heraclitus sits down, then deals nine cards face-down in a square. He flips them over, one column at a time, giving his interpretation as he goes.
The first column shows the past. He reveals the Queen Mother, the Publican, and the Eclipse. “The Eclipse is strong in the past. This card represents loss of purpose. I see a curious creature that fell from its original path. Now it wanders blindly, far afield under shadows of the mind.”
The next column is the present. The Owl, the Lost, and the Midwife come up, with the Midwife inverted. “Ahhhh, The Midwife. She is a conduit of creation, but she does not create alone. I see a creature in the present that also creates many things. It dreams of strange places and uses its mind to make these places real. But The Midwife is misaligned. The world will not like what this creature makes.”
The final column reveals the future. The Winged Serpent, the Carnival, and the Mute Hag are turned over. “The Carnival is a card of illusions and false dreams. Danger lies in your future, but it is not the danger you expect. The Carnival is the most important card for you because it is a card for fools. It was foolish to come here…”
The figure vanishes as the half-dozen skulls on the table animate and spring towards you.

Reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Quickly spinning away from the head as it slams into him, he just manages to not catch fire.
In turn, he lashes out with his cold-iron Starkknife, attempting to slice the appalling thing in half.

GM, can I use my move action from my previous post to get Shikaba out of her pouch please? I'd like to put her into combat, maybe? She can act on my initiative I think.

Shikaba jumps up and bites at the blue skull.

There is also a poison involved, but I doubt the skulls are vulnerable to that

Heraclitus looks at its Harrow reading, still on the table undisturbed despite the skirmish.
"Bastard never finished my reading! Why do I think there are supposed to be more...?"
Before anyone can stop it, Heraclitus draws another card from the deck....

Other than Lady Illirigarde's harrow deck and her occult decorations, there isn't much else around besides years-old dust. Returning to the Sincomakti School, Doctor Quolorum is very excited. "Most interesting! You say the illusion you saw had tentacles around its mouth? Sounds like one of the denizens of Leng, most unusual. And this is the Lady's harrow deck? It still seems to have some psychic residue from whatever tragic event killed the tavern keeper." He pokes at the cards a bit, then holds them out for you to take. "I do want to study these further, but there's still work to be done and I think they may prove more useful to my field workers, ie you all."
Quolorum turns to head back to his study, and looks over his shoulder. "I am most excited to continue our investigations! Keep an eye out, I have some leads that seem most promising! I shall contact you soon." Later, a messenger from the Doctor delivers four letters to you all.

So if we drew a card now, it would last until the end of the scenario? Or does it end after each mission?
'Hmmm...Seems each have their own potention benefit for the Dark Archives. Magical tools could be involved...'
"Works for me. Fresh air is always nice. Granted, the manor seems particularly enticing. As long as we make it to the manor and the school at some point, I'll follow the group to them in any order."
