Gwenhwyfar Yongisdottir
"Thank you Jimmy, for holding on to this monster" she replies, with a little smile coming back on her face.
Gwenhwyfar starts drying her face with her sleeves.
Gwen is sitting here crying a river, and no one offers a handkerchief?
Gwenhwyfar Yongisdottir
Hitting Jimmy on his shoulder with her fist
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Edit: with new Jimmy that was actually a hit. So you can react to
Non Lethal Damage: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
"Ow." and then shaking her hand in pain she protests "I knew it, you only love me for the food!"
With a smirk on her face she gets up "I'll see to it, but I don't think we took much with us beyond trail rations."
Gwenhwyfar Yongisdottir
Gwenhwyfars eyes grow wide and her jaw drops "That was divine magic! I've seen that a thousand times! Where do you get that from?"
Obviously someone is slightly upset, that Jimmy has secrets.
Gwenhwyfar Yongisdottir
"How should I know? But that's most basic training in the temple. Magic healing is always divine. There is no such thing as arcane healing."
But thinking for a bit she adds "If you really have no idea where you got that from, then I'd accept your application for admission into the club of magic users with unknown patron." with a kind of resignated voice.
Gwenhwyfar Yongisdottir
"That would be nice. I'll just have to think about what the arcane training equivalent of hitting a mast with a stick is." she tries saying with a straight face, but can't hide the chuckle.
"To be honest, I don't know much, but I'm willing to answer your questions without holding back. But we could ask Abomentolor. He also knows magic."
Knowledge (Arcana): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
"But you know what. If I ignore the fact that you cherish the look of an out of luck mercenary, and imagine you with a shining full plate and a holy symbol on a shield then it could be a gift usually given to paladins. We once had some paladins of Serenrae rest for a night at the temple in Sandpoint. They used that to heal some poor guy, that came with a broken arm at that night. It's called 'Lay On Hands'"
With a sassy know it all look she tries to pose teachery.
Tauriell
Tauriell comes back from her last trip to the forest, somewhat agitated, and plants herself besides Abomentolor at the fire. In the glow of the flames can be seen, that this was not her lucky day and one of these hideous trees roots managed to bring her down.
It was not too bad, as soil in deciduous forests tends to be rather soft, but her dignity got a heavy bruise.
To Abomentolor she says "At least this day is over. It hadn't much good to offer so far, and I don't think it will take a turn to make up for it in the time left."
Looking around she adds "At least Gwen seems to be in a better mood again."
Abomentolor Goblinburner
"Sorry mam, do I know you? I thought you were around with us all the time. That was a great day! We found the ruins, Gwen managed to trick that magic gimmick there and got some thassilonian neklace. We are going to get paid big style for that! And then we sent a bunch of these miserable goblins straight to hell. What's not to like about that day? You even managed to beat me on two of my kills?"
Shaking his head he asks "I wonder what your idea of a good day looks like."
Tauriell
With unbelieving look Tauriell stares at the gnome "You have a list where you note down your kills, don't you?"
She bruses some hair with her hand out of her face, "You know what? The boss kill was mine, fair and square. But I'm willing to give you half the wolf. Then it's a draw between the two of us."
Abomentolor Goblinburner
Abomentolor's look get's really serious looking Tauriell straight in the eyes, holding her hand tight he replies "Challenge accepted!"
Tauriell
Tauriell's smug expression is gone in an instant. She thought the day had reached his low already, but with her joking around she managed to get into a killing challenge with the gnome.
Thinking to herself 'What have I done?' and saying out load "I think I need some sleep now. If someone needs me, I'm in my bed roll over there. Good night."
With that she get's up and puts herself to bed.
Gwenhwyfar Yongisdottir
"Stop talking bad of my sisters and brothers in faith. These are some kind and mercyful knights I look up to. And they only smite those that won't stop doing evil and revoked the offer to repent. They are good law abiding citizens of our land." Gwenhwyfar scolds Jimmy.
But musing a bit over it, she adds "But to be honest, I heard one or two jokes about paladins to have a stick in their behind, and being unable to compromise. I don't think paladins of Serenrae have that. But if you like I could check if you grew such a feature unnoticed by you?"
Jimmy Fiddle
"The ones I met weren't worshipers of Sarenrae. I can't remember who they did worship though. I just remember that they certainly did act like they had sticks somewhere unpleasant." he chuckles a bit at that. "Please tell me more about these paladins of yours and we can figure out if that is what is happening."
Gwenhwyfar Yongisdottir
Gwenhwyfars face brightens "I got an idea. I talked to one of these paladins about what they do and how they actually decide if someone is beyond repenting and he told me, that they are gifted with an ability to know if someone is evil. As you told you just wanted for the pain to go away it might be enough to concentrate on someone to know if he is evil"
Looking around as if searching for something or someone she calls in the gnome's direction. "Abomentolor, you wouldn't be evil by chance?"
Abomentolor Goblinburner
"I've been called a lot of things, and I'm for sure not the tame law abiding citizen many would wish for, but I don't think I qualify as evil. Why do you ask?" his curiosity piqued.
Gwenhwyfar Yongisdottir
"Oh nothing, we just need a bad guy here for something." she replies a bit frustrated with that set back to her plan.
"These evil guys. Never there when you need them and popping up when you don't. Would you try me. Maybe I qualify now?", she says half serious, tilting her head.
Abomentolor Goblinburner
"Nothing my ass! You're going to tell me what that is about!"
Abomentolor leaves his fire alone to join Jimmy and Gwen.
Gwenhwyfar Yongisdottir
"Ok, I'll tell you. We think Jimmy might have become a paladin by accident. And now we search for a way to prove that. You got some idea?" Gwenhwyfar asks, as she ran out of ideas herself.
Abomentolor Goblinburner
"And you wanted him to try his smite on me, or what?" not very amused about the thought. "I hope you're wrong. I don't get along well with these law fixated sticks in the ... mud."
Abomentolor Goblinburner
"Had you had that idea half a day earlier, Gwen might have been able to fix you one of these goblins as a test subject. But if you're not keen on finding us some new ones I think you are out of luck for today."
As it becomes obvious that this is not about his morales and neither is he the test subject, but Jimmy, he brightens up and suggests "If you feel lucky you could rub yourself on the next leper you meet. I heard pallys never get sick."
Gwenhwyfar Yongisdottir
"That's a great idea. And we might have run out of evil guys, but Tauriel is still a bit wounded, I'll get her."
Overexited she jumps down the foundation, shaking the already sleeping Tauriel. "Tauriell, Tauriell, we need you to try something out. We need you for Jimmy to lay hands on you."
Tauriell
Tauriell wakes up irritated. "As I told Abomentolor that I'm here if someone needs me I was just being polite. But I sure won't let someone lay hands on me for your entertainment." giving Jimmy and Gwen the 'stay away from me you perverts' look.
Gwenhwyfar Yongisdottir
Gwenhwyfar turns beet red, as she realises what Tauriell thinks she meant stuttering "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean it..." and then she hides her face in her hands hoping if she can't see Tauriell, then Tauriell can't see her too.
Tauriell
Tauriell no longer tries to kill you with her eyes, but now looks really puzzled. "I was asleep for no more than half an hour. Did some god appear out of thin air and gave you some blessing or what did I miss?"
Tauriell
"You mean Lay On Hands as in paladin? You've got to be kidding me! As if anyone ever heard of someone becoming a paladin on accident. Have you been too good and too lawful lately to stay a normal mortal?"
Her couriosity winning over and her leg still hurting a bit, she gets up and joins the others. "But watch where you lay your hands, or you get another bruise to do futher tests on yourself." she says, not joking at all. With that she puts her right foot on the platform pointing to her leg, where an arrow wounded her in the middle of the front of her thigh.
Jimmy Fiddle
"Last time I just touched my shoulder wishing it didn't hurt, so lets try that." Placing his fingers next to the wound, Jimmy thinks about her pain and wishes for it to diminish. It takes a bit of effort but he eventually sees the wound close somewhat.
Lay on Hands: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Maintaining the contact he watches the wound close completely and soft pink skin is all that is evidence of the wound.
"Well I'll be damned"
Tauriell
Looking at her wound going away and the pain fading she says "Thank you Jimmy." flexing her leg a bit to check if it's all gone.
"But next time you test that you should try it on the shoulder, no matter where the wound is. Because in combat it would be a pain in the behind if you had to touch where the cut is." And you can clearly hear the scolding in her voice that Jimmy decided to go for the leg.
Which is actually a good thing, for Jimmy could also have felt her disaproval on his cheek.
Tauriell
Tauriel interested in what Jimmy has to whisper with Gwen listens in on him
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
and can't believe what she hears "I'll hit you on her behalf too, if you can't keep your hands to yourself. Just say a word Gwen."
Abomentolor Goblinburner
Abomentolors ears are not as good as he wished for
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
But he get's the idea from Tauriell's response. As the show seems to be over anyway he chuckles "I'll give you lovebirds some privacy." and goes back to tend to his fire.
Gwenhwyfar Yongisdottir
Gwenhwyfar is a bit confused by Tauriell's rather harsh response but declines her offer. "I'm fine, thank you. Jimmy will be nice, no need to hurt him on my behalf."
Then she starts rummaging through her belongings and produces a dagger. "If you wish, we can continue, but I don't have the courage to cut myself. You would have to do that." offering Jimmy the knife.
