Combat: Round One
Dwight attacks Wolf 3: Hit! >> 6 Damage to Wolf 3
Wolf 2 attacks Gurthok: Miss!
Argus's Chakram flies forward to wolf 1, steel glinting beautifully in the air, and hits just side of wolf 1 into square 3N. Miss!
Wolf 3 will re-position himself, catches the scent of the air, and Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11 fails to notice Gordan but thinks something is smelly and interesting... Wolf 3 will attack Dwight Bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 and fails... miserably, gnawing on his boot.
Gurthok thrusts the edge of his shield at Wolf 2, but it sloppily peals out of the way. However, on a backswing, Wolf 2 gets torn into by the shield spikes. Miss! then Hit! Roaring, and bearing teeth, Gurthok gnashes in the direction of the now injured wolf. Wolf 2 wimpers and crouches at the behavior. He becomes Shaken for 3 rounds.
Gordan, noticing the wolf has not seen him, moves to square P9 Not gonna make you break cover. Wolf detects through scent that the smell is moving Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12 but SILL cannot see what it is Most likely from the fog. Gordan drops his bow and draws his sword.
Koon's eidolin, LightHouse, curls into itself slightly as he engages Wolf 4, ready to jump out of the way or bend out of the way of attacks.
Dench Cleaves into Wolf 2, creating a large gash.Hit!
Wolf 1 moves to attack Gurthok. Bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16, biting into his leg Shield bash removes use of its AC until your next turn and does Dmg: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 and Trip: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21 knocks Gurthok prone.
Wolf 4 will attack LightHouse. Bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21 and deal Dmg: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 and Trip: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 not trip LightHouse.

Fairly sure that Gurthock's AC is 19 normally -2 from his heavy shield bonus assuming he doesn't have improved shield bash as a feat. So I don't think the wolfs attack roll of 16 breaks Gurthock's AC of 17. Much less if he happens to actually have that feat and his AC be 19 still.
Once it becomes pertinent. Pulling a double today and am unlikely to be able to post for a while.
" Stay still yeh stinking carpet wit' legs!" The dwarf curses as he draws another chakram and hurls the weapon at an injured wolf.

Gordan, breaking his cover, will take his AoO against Wolf 3. Hitting, he deals Dmg: 1d6 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (5) + 2 + (4) = 11. Wolf 3 moves a few feet before collapsing to his death as his eyes roll back into his skull. Having, no other wolf before him, he moves to flank Wolf 1. Eidolon has taken 6 damage, bringing it to 0 hp. As a summoned creature it would be sent back to its home plane now, but eidolons are an exception and won't be sent back until brought to negative Constitution score hp. The eidolon stays on this plane, for now.
Sensing his eidolon companion is at the brink of collapsing, Ez orders it not to strain itself. He then thrusts his longspear at the wolf in front of him (attacking wolf 1) attack: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (17) - 1 = 16 damage: 1d8 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0 lol While he's thrusting, he yells: "My spider friend could use a little help!"
Lighthouse takes a 5-foot step away from the wolf (square P4, or if that's occupied by the tree then P3).

Argus Ironeye |

with the wolves dead it looks like it is all of us followed by the remaining wolves. Then Shellin who's going to zap a wolf with Jolt.
" Yeah an' I could use a bonnie lass to warm my bed. Not all wishes get the gods a fickle attentions." The dwarf calls back to the spider owner.
Looking betwween the lone wolf about to get cut to pieces and the distant one fighting the spider the dwarf shrugs muttering. "Alright, lets see if tha gods like spiders today." He then hurls another chakram in the distant wolf's direction.
Lucky 3rd?: 1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 - 2 = 7 assuming I'm taking a range penalty, will move down the roof toward the spider/wolf battle if I'd take a second range penalty otherwise.
EDIT
The charkam arcs toward the wolf looking ready to be a beautiful strike. Then it arcs off like the other two.
The dwarf looks with some disbelief to the remaining bands of steel on his belt. "Seriously? the hell is up with this cow s!~#e? Melt tha lot of your down into something embarrassing. Like piss pots, or elf swords. The dwarf rants
" Shoulda known I'da been beter off punching the damned things."

Combat: Round Three
Ezequiel thrusts his spear at Wolf: Miss!
Dwight shoots Wolf 1 twice: Miss Miss
Argus throws chakram at Wolf 4: miss
Gurthok misses as his ax sails over wolf 1's head.
Gordan misses, and backs off.
LightHouse backs off from the wolf #4 before him.
Dench swipes his falchion at Wolf 1, just catching the beast in its throat and bleeding it to death within a matter of seconds. Kill
Wolf 4 cowers before his dead members and decides to retreat, quickly scampering off through the fogged area ahead.
END OF COMBAT
As the last wolf runs away, the fog begins to let up slightly; no longer does it linger low among the building windows and street corners. Instead, it adds to the clouds above. The three wolf corpses lay in the street, trickling out their blood.
Where to now? If you would like any info or detail on anything, or anything in more detail than already described before, just ask.

Argus Ironeye |

Argus gives one of the corpses a kick as he walks around the area to retrieve his chakram. "Damn steel." the dwarf mutters.
"So does anyone want a sword or some armor? that alley over there has a dead guy with two swords and some kind of heavy armor. Might be worth something as well. Think I might try entering one of these houses. Would be better to deal with critters lookin to jump on our faces before they get a chance to try." Argus asks as he continues to walk.
as argus will be getting fairly close to the houses on the other side of the clearing (Chakram are over there) he will look in the windows if a chance arises.

Koon Ezequiel Mariano |

Ezequiel runs to his spider companion and touches it with a healing hand. "It was very brave what you did, keeping a wolf at bay like that," the summoner says as his eidolon's wounds slowly close. Casting infernal healing on eidolon, heals 10 hp in 1 min, bringing it to full 6 hp
"Anyone else in need of some healing? If not, Lighthouse and I are going to investigate that strange church. I encourage you to join us!"
After giving everyone a moment to settle, the eidolon goes inside the church, followed by Ez some 40 feet away.

Shellin |

Shellin will cast Detect Magic and examine the wolf corpses. He frowns as he looks over the animals bodies, disgust evident on his face.
Knowledge Arcana, spell effect (assuming): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
He will then move to the alley with Gordon and examine the body and its gear in the same fashion with Detect Magic."Hold, Gordon. This is an odd body in an odd place. Best make sure no curses lie in wait for, forgive the expression, inquisitive hands."
Knowledge Arcana, spell effect, if needed: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
Spellcraft, magic item, if needed: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
If anything seems interesting and non magical, Shellin will examine it as well
Appraise: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
He will then share his findings with Gordon and any others present in the alley.

Dwight "HollowForge" Davenport |

Dwight will keep a look out and join the majority of the group (still with his mind blade at the ready).
Perception Check: 4 + 1d20 ⇒ 4 + (11) = 15
"I wonder what those wolves were doing in a place like this?... In this seemingly very empty place... You know what killed that man over there?"

DM: Twilight Hatter |

Argus Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28 ... ... ... Critical... ... (nice!) Ok, here we go.
Past those windows, in the shop, you can see a sign down by the dusty bottom that says "Klef & Brog: Smith and Craft". Within the show windows, the shelves look pretty sparse and clean; only a dagger and amulet lay on the shelving. The amulet is coupled with a note. However, the windows are a little reflective, allowing you to see a Metal Shield laying back further in the shop. The reflections also let you see that most of the inside appears to be charred or covered in black marks of sorts.
You see no bodies or hostiles in the shop, but from here, a portion of the inside still remains hidden from view. If you'd like, i can let you move past the windows or move inside and continue with your *crit* if you want a better view of the insides but beyond that the roll ends here.
Dench Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21 Within the church are a few benches, likely used to sit many of the partaking members. They are unorderly and moved about as if many people bumped them in a hurry to get outside or a large tussle happened causing many of them to be moved. The inside doors are scraped which might give fruit to the first of the earlier assumptions, as those of whom were inside, scraped and clawed (fingernail marks) at the inside doors, as if in panic. From here, you can only see so much to the left, but a altar orrrrr... something more akin to a podium stands slightly unbalanced (slanted). Behind it, a window gives way to overgrown flora! What plants or how much you cannot know from here. There is fleshy bits scattered around the floor, probably from the wolves.
Koon Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 P2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Within the church are a few benches, likely used to sit many of the partaking members. They are unorderly and moved about as if many people bumped them in a hurry to get outside or a large tussle happened causing many of them to be moved. Further back, a podium sits and behind it, a window covered in greenery and a door with vines reaching out from under and over it rest.
Gordan and Shellin Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14 Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 14
The wolves turn nothing in way of magic.
In the alley, Gordan finds the mentioned corpse. Still slowly oozing blood, however black and insect ridden. The poor guys legs are smashed and one of them are almost completely torn off. Bits and pieces of flesh, where armor doesn't cover, has been chewed and bitten. His helm is smashed in, letting only half his face go untarnished.
Shellin comes up from behind and as he begins to speak, the body flinches slightly! A blue aura rises from the body's chest and hovers before it for mere seconds before spreading and encompassing the rest of him. Transparent and very cloudy in shape, it starts sculpting itself into the rudimentary shape of a person that still covers the exterior of the man's body. The aura like-ness of the corpse turns in your direction. It speaks. "Oh. Well hello there. You don't seem to be here to eat more parts of me now do you? That would have been a godsend a long time ago, and i would've thanked you merrily, even if you'd be here just to pilfer what i have. Oh, the days I've seen. I don't mean to say that i'm not glad that you got here all the same, though i don't think being merry is in me right now, nor can i stand or lift a hand to thank you as i would have. Ha har hagh ah ha arrghhh ..." His voice trails off in his diminshing laugh. "What do you require of a poor old soul?
His swords are resting against the wall on either side of him....
I will use your rolls shellin if you still want to go ahead and use them.
Gurthok The crossroad is the walkway you've come from and an actual road for carriages and the such. The actual road has grating dead center in it that extends the length as far as you can see. The flow of water can be heard from beneath...
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14 You can't see anything of interest past the windows (lower-right). Unless your interested in cupboards and kitchenware...
Dwight
There are not grouped together anymore. Do you want to stay there or do you want to move somewhere else.

Gordon Bratiwade |

Taken aback a bit, Gordon says, "Well, we're not here to finish eating you, but, if you like, we could give you a decent burial. Also, we've no intention of pilfering anything of yours you can still use, so, assuming you cannot use any item upon you, I would not consider taking said items to be considered to be pilfering at all."

Argus Ironeye |

Yes I'll move into the shop. Get the rest of the information I can from that roll. [/b]
Argus looks at the collected objects for a moment before shrugging. The dwarf glancing for a door and attempting to try opening it.
[ooc] If it is locked.
Argus shrugs and looks at the window. "Well it ain't like we are still being sneaky. The dwarf then elbows the window with a cloth covered limb and converts the window into an entryway.

Dench Unglar |

We've all run off in different directions. This isn't good.
Walking over to Gurthock and motioning to everyone, "Everyone should stick together, and go about this more systematically."

Shellin |

Yes I would still like to use the rolls, if there is anything to use them on.
Shellin will throw a short, loud whistle behind him to signal the others nearby as the aura rises from the corpse.
Turning his focus back to the apparition, Shellin can't help but start with the questions. Head cocked to the side, Shellin asks,
"I am Shellin, this is Gordon. Who am I speaking with?"
"You seem well armed, are yo-, apologies, were you a member of this towns guard?"
"Speaking of which, what town do we happen to find ourselves?"

DM: Twilight Hatter |

Koon LightHouse tries to open the door but fails to open it smoothly as the growth at the tpp and bottom of the door have fastened it tightly in the closed position. Would you like to force it open?
GordanThe ghostly aura gives an unamused face in your direction and looks down at his legs. He does a once over on his arms and torso and looks back. "I can still frighten small children with what i am and have, but I receive your point all the same."
Argus When entering the shop, another item, perhaps of some worth, catches your attention. A Blood Coated Hammer sits embedded on the equally coated, blood dripping counter top of the fine establishment. The hammer is as long as a mace and as well as having a flattened end for smashing and hammering, it has a hooked spike on the other side (which is what currently embeds it on the counter). Grabbing the only portion not soaked in blood, the handle, you pry it off the counter top with some effort. Inspecting the under-counter and shelves brings nothing else of value or interest Really anything into sight. Sadly, this is not a smithery, only just a shop. The dagger and shield are of basic steel quality and the amulet is one that opens (so a locket i guess) but, again, is made from a lesser valuable metal, copper. You have no idea what the hammer is made from as it is coated heavily in thick dry blood.
You smash a window...
Items:

Speaking to him, you gleam this:
Who? My name was... I guess still is Fwarth Dentley.
Guard? Sometimes regrettably, and other times enthusiastically, Yes. On duty, I held the main gate and off duty, I trained the recruits. You could say i was damn near perfect at beating both friend and foe nearly to death.
Town? Tohennis Mildbrag, The Black Capital; Called for its coal dark, granite housings. I always found it ironic from all the white snow.
You haven't went and fondled his pockets yet. You can do so if you'd like.
Dwight You see what Koon sees... Which is his eidolin jimmying the far door.

Koon Ezequiel Mariano |

It's locked! Need key! Lighthouse informs Ezequiel after failing to open the back door.
"Are you sure?" the young summoner messages back. "Look, silly, the door frames are probably just stuck. Give it a good whack or something."
Lighthouse tries to open the door by force. Strength check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
As the eidolon rams itself against the door, trying to break it open, Ezequiel turns to his newly-arrived ally.
"Ah, good timing! This sure is an interesting place. As you can see, this church has seen better days, what could have caused its ruin? Even more interesting is, I know a thing or two of religions and I don't recognize this faith. Whatever god or gods they worshiped here are are now long forgotten. Maybe even centuries old. Isn't that fascinating?
"We'll be here all day if my eidolon doesn't get help with that door. I see you are a strong man, could you lend a hand? I'm more academic type myself, see?"

Shellin |

Hearing Gurthock's shout, Shellin barks back a clipped, "Found someone!"
Shellin turns to Gordon and says, "I sense no fell magic, you are clear."
Turning back to the apparition, Shellin continues:
"What happened to your town, Fwarth of the Guard?
Do you know where this pink fog came from, or what it is?
Do you know who made these mighty gates that hold the fog back?"
Pausing for a moment, a deep frown spreads on Shellin's face before he asks his last question, "Do you know who made those wolves?"

Dwight "HollowForge" Davenport |

Dwight looks about the room more carefully as he stands next to Koon.
"Fascinating would be a good word for it... though I don't know much about the faiths myself. If it is as you say..." Dwight pauses for a moment in thought, "Then how and why they were forgotten for so long... and what is it doing here, in the area of our test? Did the "Master" take it as he did us?"
A shiver passes through Dwight as he remembers how he was taken here in the first place.
What happened here... What happened to everyone... How old is this "Host" of ours!?

DM: Twilight Hatter |

Koon It is indeed, held shut against your eidolin's yanking.
Shellin Fwarth bows his ghostly head and speaks again:
Happened? "Very simple. We were attacked. It was when i was training recruits further inside the city." He nods behind himself. "An alarm was sounded that the main gate was in dire circumstances, meaning compromised or some other travesty had befallen it. As i rushed down to serve in my duty of 'Guard of the Main Gate', the other alarms for inner gates two and three sounded. So quickly the alarms came, I thought that a disease or air assault had hit, but seeing clear sky's and knowing that we check every every outsider for such things, those explanations were quickly waved from my mind. The screams blasted into my ears when i arrived at gate four. I saw them, two men cloaked in purple robes. One slender and kinda short in stature while the other, probably 7 or 8 feat tall this man with his right arm built LIKE it was carved out from dragon muscle! Big and muscular he was, carrying a huge metal column with a grip and only hoisted it with one arm! I was outmatched instantly; not only did i bring the armaments i train with, but a legion of undead followed in what was left of the wake they lead. After being beaten beyond what a dead man looks and is like, i crawled my way here if just for a moments respite... That must be when the flesh-eating bastards came for me."
Pink-Fog Fwarth looks skyward and pears lightly around, his apparition legs not wavering from his real-mangled ones. "Oh, I think i see what your aiming at. No, not really. It could have come with the undead, before or after they began rotting off their limbs, or be some accursed weather brought in with the ilk of the men who bashed me a pretty solid one. Whatever it is, or who brought it, I wouldn't care to swim in it myself. Now, you might say 'you can't swim in fog' but that doesn't change the intent behind those words... For all that matters now." He looks down again at his corpse of a person. "You catch my drift?"
Gates? Fwarth sits there looking puzzled...
Wolves? "Made?" Fwarth begins looking more puzzled. "No, no, no. You have it wrong. These petty scavenging mutts just came 'round the other side of the mountain. Probably because of the strong smells of death and flesh."
Gordan Fwarth looks at Gordan as he begins sinking his hands into his rotting pockets. I'm afraid you've not to find but 10 generations of maggots in those pockets my friend. Though it CHEERS me to think that someone would come and hassle me just to Yank Whatever IS IN ME MAGGOT INFESTED POCKETS!! Fwarth becomes a little irritated at the picking and pocketing gesture. True to his word, 10 generations of maggots you find, however, even these poor fella's succumbed to death and are moldy and rotting away. Fwarth sighs a dusty and dirty breath of air. "Take my training swords. They've seen battle and are quite formidable, otherwise, I nothing else really to offer you in way of equipment.... ... ... Actually, maybe i do. This structure behind me-", Fwarth gestures to the building he's leaning against, "I have seen it on occasion. I believe it was mostly used for storage. And many a storage i have seen that has a lock, so it probably still has whatever it was used for. I'd try that if your looking for something interesting." You leave to retrieve your bow... You can try to open the storage whenever you'd like, if you want to come back to it.
Dwight Currious indeed, ain't it? Anyway, i believe since LightHouse failed opening the door, that Koon would want you to take a crack at it now.

Argus Ironeye |

Strangely I stopped receiving updates on this game. looks like it happened around Wednesday. Weird. Anyway i'll go ahead and get back into the swing of things now.
"Weird buildings and their strange things. Who leaves a perfectly good hooked hammer lying around like that when everything else is looted?" The dwarf mutters to himself as he throughly loots the house. Dagger on his belt, shield on his back and hammer resting on one shoulder the short one walks back to the yelling Tiefling.
He opens the locket with his available hand and loops the metal over his wrist freeing his hand to read the note.
"So, looks like that was just a damn shop. Dunno where the bloody hammer came from, could use a wash but it looks good enough. Either of you two want a shield or a dagger? I ain't got use for them and figure someone can use them til we get back." The dwarf says as he finishes reading the note
"Also this note. Oh and I think one of these empty f#+!in' houses is a smithy. Might be good to check the rest of them before we move on to the big ass building down the road over there."
I like the look of the house in the bottom right corner of the map. It looks like a great place to loot. And now that Argus has a big honkin hammer all the doors and windows look like entrances to him.

Gurthock the Fleshmincer |

"Very well. The others seem bent on self destruction rather than cooperation. Raiding these houses for supplies may prove fruitful. I am well enough equipped for now."

Shellin |

Shellin will pause, musing over this new information on the possible enemy, and, as if realizing something, asks one more question, "Do you know how long you have been in this alley, Fwarth?"
After receiving his answer, he takes his leave of the specter and joins the clustering at the crossroads.
"I found...well not a survivor but a source of information. The spirit of the corpse in the alley still remains, and he was quite talkative.
We currently reside in the town of Tohennes Mildbrag, also called The Black Capital.
It was attacked and razed by two men in purple robes, one small and unremarkable, the other with an arm like a dragon's muscle, carrying a pillar as his weapon. They, in conjunction with a horde of undead, stormed this town and paved it low.
I learned nought by way of the gates and the fog, but I did learn the location of the towns storehouse, and according the ghost, most items therein should still be safely under lock and key."
Stopping for a moment, Shellin cocks his had and of course asks his inevitable questions:
"I shouted when we found him, did no one hear me?"
"Argus, where did you find that hammer?"
Detect Magic on the hammer
Know Arcana, if needed: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
Spellcraft, if needed: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
and finally, "Would anyone like to join me in the storehouse? I find going off by ones self a silly thing to do in this environment, and seeing as Gordon saw fit to leave me with an apparition, it may be best if I work with someone else."
There is no anger in his voice at the mention of being left, merely his queer, scholarly calm

Argus Ironeye |

Argus nods in agreeable to the tiefling's comment before gesturing to one of the houses.
"That one in the corner might be a good place to start."
With that the dwarf turns and listens to the human caster on his arrival
"Huh, so the dead armored guy in the alley is a ghost? Weird. his armor still any good? Doubt he's using it.
So your telling me this town had some really #@$#ing terrible guards then? City this well built ought to have extracted a great price on someone sieging it. Didn't hear you because I was across the street checking out the house there.
Like I #$@#in' said I was going to, had to bash in a window as the door was locked but it looks like some kind of shop. Right before you walked over I was saying that there is likely a smith in the town somewhere but that was just a shop." The dwarf states with a huff as he points the heavy, blood soaked, hammer in the direction of the home. Small drips and drabs of the substance forming a trail from the buildings broken display window to where the dwarf stood now.
" Found a locket, some sad @#$#'s last words, this hammer, a dagger and a shield. Oh and rat @#$# lots of rat #@$#."
