Dron is done.

I'd like to wish four of you good luck. Well five if I don't make the final cut.

Cheers

Between my racial bonus and favored enemy bonuses I'm going to be able to cut down humans quickly lol. I have a question for you DM, I decided on the trait 'history of heresy'. It grants a +1 bonus vs divine spells since you have a family that's been god forsaken (such as the entire strix race believes) as long as you don't possess any levels in divine classes. Would I be allowed to take this trait since I'm taking an archetype that takes away the divine part of the ranger class?

Finally done. I now present, Kasim Sarraf, a Keleshite Musket Master.

GM Tierce, please let me know what you think.

Creating feverishly - should have a PC ready in an hour or two, don't forget me!

Here is littlehewy's offering - Erikan Staldidt, son of a well-known court bard, budding sorcerer, aspiring overlord, and all-round nice guy!

Seems that most of everyone is done, still have a few stragglers so will give them until tonight. I am beginning to review your applications and will have the choices posted in 24 hours

*waits with baited breath* :-)

Good luck GM Tierce. Looks like a tough decision.

I don't have info on the game setting so I made a Golarion backstory hope that doesn't have any negative effect on my application.

Of couse I could be considered an outsider sentenced to the same prison.

Here you go Edward.

guide info

Regards

Awaiting his fate.

guess its to late to really re-write the background could just change the names of the city and such but keep everything else

Stalwart here. I've made a number of changes to my submission, mainly fixing some crunch errors. I've updated the character page now. Furthermore, I'm doing this from my phone which is not the easiest thing to do. When I get back from traveling due to the Thanksgiving holiday (later tonight), I'll be able to type up a little bit more regarding Ferrell's encounter with the law of Talongarde.

Wow lots of deep backstories, people love their evil characters haha. Good luck all!

Thanks for that link Dron, I'll be editing my backstory slightly tonight. Is Mitra being replaced with a Golarion deity btw? Presumably Iomedae.

Darsis will be from Talingarde, specifically Daveryn, and his father will change form an Abadarian Inquisitor to one who worshiped Mitra/Iomedae. While Darsis does not worship Asmodeus he certainly favors similar principles. I'll keep Zon-Kuthon as the deity whose followers made him torture and kill his family as I think that fits well, and Zon-Kuthon's cults are supposed to be pretty sporadic and secret. He returned to Talingarde after his rooms were raided in Absalom. Will update tonight in profile.

Any time DM Carpe.

I have left Dron fairly generic as a Varisian Scarzni criminal. He will probably get a name change to avoid entanglements with the "mafiosi".

Might look at the Inner Sea guide and drop a few more links in to the background later this evening.

Cheers

Bernald is a native of Talingarde, so no problems there.

Mitra will be staying in as the main god of Talingarde, as a lieutenant to Iomedae

Just saw this, I'm totally in. Let me get this built up.

Str: 18
Dex: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Con: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Int: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Wis: 8
Cha: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

Not bad. I'll have a build up soon.

@Runner188 - Sorry, recruitment is closed as choices will be posted shortly

Spoiler:
The boy paced, back and forth, in his cage. It gave him little room to move, but he hated the thought of staying still. He watched the faces of the men and women who looked through the bars. They whispered around him. Even behind bars, they recognized him to be a predator. They needed those bars.

He flashed back to his journey, out of the deep forest where his pack hunted. His friend, the young wolf sent by Greylocke to accompany him on his travels, loped easily along side him. At first, he marveled at the human lands, when he arrived. They kept large pens of animals for easy hunting. It was effortless. He feasted well on sheep and goats as he moved to the town.

However, the humans did not welcome him. They reacted to him with fear, and shouted at him with strange words like "property" and "payment". It went so wrong so quickly. Men on horses surrounded him, shouting down at him and pointing their swords and spears. They refused to understand that when the hunting is so easy, even a young cub could take his prey. But they shouted, and one jabbed at him.

His friend appeared quickly, like a good pack mate, and crippled the man's horse. It fell, and rolled on him, as the boy leaped out of the way. The humans screamed like bleating prey, though others came with weapons and more horses. The boy could not outrun them, and his friend could not outrun their arrows.

Seeing his pack mate fall with the brown feathers sticking out of him kindled an unknown fury inside the boy. He turned, drawing his hunting knife, and ran at his pursuers. He pounced, and slashed at them, but more kept coming, until he was taken.

He awoke with heavy metal chains about him, and guards standing over him. They told him he and his beast had killed three men and injured two others. The boy didn't care. They told him that there were laws in Talongard against murder and the killing of livestock. The boy didn't understand. They told him that he would be killed for his crimes. The boy understood, since he wished to kill more humans for the killing of his friend.

They moved him to a cage on wheels. They put him inside, and let people watch him. They yelled, and cried, and threw things through the bars at him. They gave him a name -- Feral.

I've looked at the Wild Child alternate Druid class from the ARG. I'm undecided right now whether to go with that or with the wolf lord. I'll wait and see how the selection process goes, and then decide. Looks like I'm up against some tough competition! Thanks for your consideration!

well its almost time cheers to all the applicants.

Finished reviewing all the submissions, You certainly didn't make the choices easy. One of you wrote a back story good enough that I had to add a sixth spot...

way to go to whoever that was with the great story, thanks for the extra opportunity...

Here is my slightly altered backstory, hope its not too late! As I said its mainly just been tweaked to include him being born in Talingarte, in Daveryn and his father being an Inquisitor of Mitra rather than Abadar.

Darsis Valdane

Backstory:
Born to a happy little family, Dari had an idyllic early childhood in Daveryn, he rarely saw his father who worked a great deal, but the few reunions they had were joyous. Then the masked men came, and that boy, a happy little animal sucking at life's teat, died.

At age six Darsis Valdane was rescued from a maddened cult of Zon-Kuthon followers after being forced to torture and slay his two older brothers, his sister, and his mother. His father, Baldan Valdane, an Inquisitor of Mitra who had foiled the cult's schemes previously, tried to beat the darkness from his son, but only managed to impose a code of sorts.

Baldan Valdane was an arrogant man, who believed there were animals and there were people, and being born a thinking creature was not sufficient to warrant personhood. A person Baldan believed shaped the world, while an animal reacted to the world. An animal caught in a bear trap would gnaw off its own foot, or surrender, a person caught in a bear trap would endure the pain, and feign unconsciousness, waiting for the trapper to come and then taking its chance to slay them once it was freed. This he told Darsis again and again, hammering the lessons home with his belt.

Darsis grew loathing his father, and harboring dark thoughts, and found that killing relaxed him, and made him feel something other than numbness. Eventually his father discovered his collection of animal tongues under the floorboards and beat him viciously, making him spend virtually all of his time at the local Church praying for Mitra's guidance and absolution.

Then his father began to drink, perhaps sickened by his only remaining child's depravity. And as Darsis watched him descend into addiction his respect for the man withered and died, as did Baldan's right to be treated as anything but an animal, an animal who had hurt him...

So Darsis set a bear trap inside the privy. And when the old man was caught he doused the privy in oil and burned him alive inside it. A person would have found a way out of the situation, but the animal that was his father did not. Killing animals is not murder it is slaughter, and a persons right.

Darsis sold their home and enrolled at Blackblade's fighter training school in Absalom. His money ran out more swiftly than he could have imagined, but he found work at an abattoir, learning to kill and cut meat which he found soothing - and informative. He proved an adept warrior and swiftly mastered a signature style of fighting that involved careful use of blade and scabbard in conjunction. In his two years at the school he dispatched a dozen human animals, refining his techniques there to, and taking to soaking a piece of red silk in each victims blood and stitching it into the lining of his fathers cloak. He was forced to flee Absalom after he saw the Watch breaking down the door to his rooms, and took the first ship he could afford - back to Talingarde.

In Talingarde he quickly found work as a bodyguard and enforcer, for a local money lender named Gerrius Dreel. Dreel had him do some terrible things to debtors, animals who could not meet their obligations, but the man was an odious glutton whose stench offended Darsis. Then one day Dreel lost a huge sum in a card game, and did not pay Darsis on time, he could have paid after making a few collections of course. But fair is fair, a loan shark should know the consequences of not paying when owed. Darsis slew Dreel's other two bodyguards before they had a chance to react, tied the glutton to a stake and slow roasted him over his own fire place - with an apple in his mouth. Honing his blades to razor sharpness in rhythm with the pig's squeals.

Three days later he was arrested in his rooms. He is not sure how he was caught, he butchered the meat making it virtually unrecognizable and sold it to a sausage maker. Nobody saw his deeds that he is aware of and he was not known to have any enemity towards Dreel. But a person adapts and Darsis Valdane is no animal, he is a person, he is a butcher.
