Okay,
It's been several month's since the Clone-wars had begun. work is hard to find for bodyguards, all the senators seem to be protected by the republic's clones... luckily you've come upon the solution, a noble from some planet you can barely remember has requested a group of escorts from the republic, and the republic was kind enough to hire you!

so, any who need access to the PDF's that have the rules I'm allowing, just let me know and ill get those to you.
otherwise here are my rules:

1)I'm only allowing one Jedi, and no Nobles. As for races, be reasonable. only one droid will be allowed as a PC.

2)if you are a Jedi, you are assigned to make sure the noble is well protected, and you are a padawan, so you must also create a short little skit of your master(no-one unreasonable plz)

3)average staring gold, max staring health, 4d6 drop the lowest or a 24 point build, and that's about it

as for backstories, just give me a few sentences. i don't need to know why your wookie is not on his home planet or why you even are on corusaunt(sorry for my horrid spelling). just know this, if you are a clone, Jedi, or other common figure(such as a smuggler), Just take into consideration that you are being hired to escort a noble to her homeworld.

be sure to ask as many questions as needed.

Dot. Interested. What level? First, I assume.

yes

Can I create a Jedi?
Dice Rolls:
Wisdom: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 4, 5) = 1514
Dexterity: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 1, 5) = 1312
Constitution: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 3, 2) = 1210
Strength: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 1, 6) = 1312
Charisma: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 4, 5) = 1915
Intelligence: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 4, 1) = 1211

Sovereign Court

yes, but have a backup in another class in case i like a different person's Jedi

if i pick a Jedi, i will pick the one with best promise (story-wise)

Ok

Stat: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 1, 6) = 15 14
Stat: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 6, 5) = 21 17
Stat: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 2, 1) = 9 8
Stat: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 6, 1) = 17 16
Stat: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 6, 3) = 14 12
Stat: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 1, 6) = 11 10

Sovereign Court

almost forgot, 8 is the lowest stat you can have, any rolls lower get bumped up to 8, that is before species bonus

4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 5, 6) = 21 17
4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 3, 3) = 12 10
4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 1, 1) = 9 8
4d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 3, 6) = 13 12
4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 5, 5) = 16 14
4d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 3, 6) = 19 16
Now to look over the book and figure out whom I'd like to play.

Sovereign Court

you can be any race as long as you can make it work, with the exception of any race that has more than 4 arms, no six blaster pistol for you guys :)

other than that, large aliens need to consider cramped ship quarters, (although it wont matter much, you won't always be in a ship), and smaller aliens just have to deal with the fact that most equipment is too big for you.

Sovereign Court

the deadline for recruitment is next Monday, unless i get at least 10 applications, then it will be whenever that happens...

Dot.
Question.
Are you allowing material from other sourcebooks? I have a nifty smuggler I could roll, though I do love me some Jedi, especially with the stuff from Jedi Academy Training Manual.

Smuggler stuff would be from Scum and Villainy, mostly.

Sovereign Court

oh yes, i have that book, so yes :)
scum and villany that is, as for the Jedi one, not so much... i don't have that book... i also have the old republic book, but this isn't in that time period :)

Dark Archive

oooh hmm I assume this will be PbP?

Would you allow a Shi'ido as a race? I'd love to play a Shi'ido force adept (or do you include force adepts in that only one jedi rule?) and/or go into the telepath prestige class (forget the name)

Funny thing is, as much as they are less powerful than they were in West End, d20/Saga kinda threw out the reason that Shi'ido hate Jedi and droids while still keeping that they hate Jedi and droids. :P

yes it is pbp, and force adepts... if they can swing around a lightsaber at lvl 1 than no, other wise i'm okay with that. it's not the whole Jedi are overpowered thing i'm avoiding, it's mostly story conflicts and personal preference. i'd like to keep only one person as real Jedi, otherwise others can use the force all they want. just make sure you keep track of your darkside score as well. I'm having that apply to everyone. although the whole "becomes evil and is now a GM character" only applies to the Jedi.

Alright, cool :) Then the Shi'ido is okay too? I have the book somewhere of all the races, it just went poof last time I did spring cleaning, which means it's around here somewhere. Also, I only have the d20 Star Wars 2nd edition book, not the Saga version... The differences are small as I recall (the big differences were between 1st and 2nd) but might need to do some tweaking to the telepath class when I take it(assuming you allow it)

Sovereign Court

well, i have the ultimate anthology, i can share it with you...

otherwise if you have the book it's fine :) shapeshifters are okay with me, just be reasonable. dont shapeshift into some crazy monster whenever an enemy comes near, play it logical. as for the telepath... i think i have that somewhere... let me look.

i found the force adept prestige class, just to let you know, i may just take this to lvl 10, so don't plan any crazy long characters.

Wait, what? Is there more changes to the saga system than I thought? Force Adept is a base class in the non-Saga d20 system.

Also, as for Shi'ido and their capabilities, yeah that's what I mean when I say d20 really nerfed them. The young ones can only shift into small or medium humanoids, it's not until middle age they can turn into large creatures or even inanimate objects, and even then it's purely cosmetic. They're still a fleshy rock if you poke them with a lightsaber :P

Sovereign Court

force adept is a prestige class, want me to share the book?

Cool I'll throw together a couple of characters tonight or tomorrow.

Dark Archive

DM waz up? wrote:

Yeh, might need you to but then what is it if you want to be a level 1 force user, but not a jedi? They change the name, or they completely removed non-Jedi force users?

Also, even if I am a shi'ido I'll probably be a twi'lek. hehe. Shi'ido are paranoid as heck about people finding out they're shapeshifters... look at how the Clawdite get treated in the movies... Shi'ido make clawdites look like amateurs... which makes them super-dangerous to the galaxy at large. They don't even revert to their natural form on death, so pretty much it's a guarantee that nobody but other shi'ido have actually seen a shi'ido.

Sovereign Court

what they did is they made it a feat, force sensitivity. Jedi begin play with it. it makes the Use the Force skill a class one no matter your actual class.

here ill PM you a link, but you have to request to be able to see it :)

Well yes that's how it was in the first d20 version, but there was three force using classes... Jedi Guardian, Jedi Consular, and Force Adept. So sounds like they ditched the force adept and there is just Jedi now unless you go into a prestige class?

Sovereign Court

yep, lvl 7 minimum with force sensitivity and the skill use the force.

it's in the back of the book, under prestige classes. Jedi is just plain old Jedi.

most feats are easy to convert if need be

Dark Archive

Wow, so pretty much you're a jedi or or nothing at 1st level :( No witches of dathomir, no sorcerers of tund, nothing but jedi? :(

Sovereign Court

yeah, it's allot like how people felt when 4th edition D&D first came out... so many lost... although the dragonborn was cool.

other classes are scout, scoundral, soldier, and noble... but im not allowing noble on the acount that one noble would not hire... actualy i changed my mind, you can choose noble, but only one person can be a noble, like the jedi, just my preference. I don't want three super-rich players.

and you cannot have the rich talent at lvl 1... no, never! you can basically buy a battle-droid to fight for you if you needed.

I know this sounds crazy, but pleasse! can i play a Jawa? (from scum and villainy)
My backstory would probably be him stowing onto a ship to scavenge components, but the ship lifted off. He was kicked off at corucsant, and found another PC, or he found the noble, who hired him for mechanic skills.

Dark Archive

hmm so are the old d20 prestige classes even compatible at all? I might have to completely rethink my entire concept since I definitely don't want to play a shi'ido jedi (they'd NEVER trust a shi'ido and they'd know... as I said, in West End droids (always) and jedi (usually) could easily see that a shi'ido wasn't actually what they claim to be... that was changed in d20 but they keep the paranoia... I guess cause it's that way in the novels.)

sure, but be reasonable. Take into account that jawa can't learn to speak or write in any other language, although they may understand them. also, you can't be a jedi jawa, it's just not possible. otherwise any race is available as long as you consult me first

and yes, i'm allowing toydarians and gungan, because they exist, even if they are accidentally racist

Dark Archive

Hmm okay reading this it says you can take a force talent any time you could take another talent so that's not so bad... just need to spend your initial feat to get FS and you can be something else besides just a Force Adept...

So, maybe I'll go scoundrel then take FS as my feat... you still just get one at first level right? :)

Dark Archive

Do the rules say Jawa cannot be force-sensitive? I know that's a side quest in Star Wars the Old Republic. Imperial players get a side mission to investigate reports of a jawa "shaman" that is a force user... The contact asks you to try to bring the jawa in alive, but at the very least bring in their body for study (grrr midochlorians lol he doesn't say it but I think that is implied why a dead body could show force talent) and on the way out you are approached by a Sith who basically tells you "Jawa are not able to use the Force. Even if they are, they are not." and so when you find out that yes this jawa absolutely can use the force, you can bring back the jawa alive as requested by the inital contact or kill the jawa shaman and bring back the dead body of a non-force using jawa to 'prove' that nope, they can't use the force... cause that Sith chick was really adamant that jawa can't use the force... don't want to cross a racist (speciesist?) Sith!

Either way, I'd still never allow a jawa jedi either... it's just plain silly.

Scrap my earlier idea, playing a droid soldier. Would you like me to use my earlier rolls, or can I roll again? And, can I use the "Scavengers Guide to Droids"?

Sovereign Court

yeah, I reject the Jedi Jawa mostly because of the speech impediment.

and because Yoda is enough short back-flipping fun for me.

as for that sith, she must not realize that the force is in EVERYTHING!
they state that all the time, even in the old movies.

sure. go ahead. just make sure you don't go overboard

also consider this is shortly after the battle on geonosia. nothing after that point exists, or is discovered. so that includes ewoks, who weren't even around.

Well, she does actually. That's the point. She's telling you outright (I simplified her statement) that if you find out that this jawa shaman can use the force, kill it and lie to the other guy, because jawa are scum not even fit to lick a Sith's boots.

Here is a YouTube video of the quest :)

She's seriously mean.
(Ah watching this video I see she is human not Pureblood... been years since I actually did the quest myself haha)

Yea, non-spacefaring species the galaxy at large doesn't know about shouldn't be available as PCs. A lot of players got mad when they added an Ewok companion in Star Wars Old Republic, and while the story of that ewok did kiiiinda make sense (she killed some smugglers and stole their ship then used the autopilot to go to nar shaddaa where she crashed it lol) she's still very unique and borderline fan service that she's even in the game. I only bought her cause at the time she was good for low level characters (other than bounty hunters) to get a healer... I still twitch at all the ewoks running around on the fleet (though it's died down since they made all companions able to do all roles...)

As for my character, yeah I think I am going to go with a Shi'ido Scoundrel and take Force Sensitivity. Am I reading right that if I take that feat, my 1st level talent can be a Force talent, since you select your feat(s) before your talent?

Once more question though, might I be able to be a Jensaarai apprentice? Rules wise you just need to have Force Sensitivity and be accepted by one of them. Page 107.

Sovereign Court

yeah, and you select feats before skills if you want to :)

don't let it be said that i am a dictator.

You know of any good form fillable character sheets? I found one but it has a few bugs, like it refuses to let me have my level as anything but 0 in regards to my Fort defense. Granted, it's not calculating so it's not a huge deal, it's just confusing to look at "why is your level or armor bonus 0"?
