Toritaka
"When it is decided...I will take the chance..." he says with a slight nod and helps the trackers track once again.
Tulsino
Tulsino sheaths his sword as the fae leave and gives Thaleles a cold glare.
Tulsino probably would have said F-it and pulled a card just to be difficult. What harm ever came from playing cards?
I will take the first watch, just in case those fae decide to come back.
Garr'ak the Toothy
"Seeing as I have no magic to prepare and the dark does not hinder my sight, I will take second shift in the darkest hours of the night if no one has anything against such," Garr'ak would say as he cleans off his plate and utensils before laying down to rest. He would use his backpack as a pillow and put the pocket containing the cards under his head to help prevent anyone from trying to steal them.
Tobaris
The night passes quietly and morning comes quickly. The sounds of the woods pure and only interrupted by the clatter of your campmates. Thagis and Thigis are found tied up hanging from a tree like caterpillars, with a small sign hanging between them.
The sign has two columns and in a splotchy ink it says, Safe from Prankz: Beeg Pinkie, Hay-Hair, Lady with less shinies than before/Fair Game: Beeg Sword Guy, Little Sword Guy, Dumb Biggen, Other Dumb Biggen
Toritaka
Taka smiles at the sign, assuming he is Little Sword Guy, he genuinely likes the fey.
Ironically, the game I made Taka for originally, he was a Kitsune Ninja, but I modded him for this
Garr'ak the Toothy
Is my assumption of Garr'ak still being pink, correct?
Garr'ak would simply shake his head upon seeing the men and the sign.
"Esmeralda, you might want to check your belongings."
As he spoke, he would move to Thagis and Thigis, pulling his shovel as he went. Once there he would cut their bindings with a quick swing of his shovel and let them fall to the ground.
His work done, he would replace his shovel in his pack and turn to address Thelelas.
"Do you wish to finish examining the deck now?"
Thaleles
|
Hmm... This truly is powerful magic. Thaleles returns the deck to Garr'ak. You may not want to use it until we can get back to the fort and I order some books. I still can't tell what these are. It's unlike anything I have ever seen. With that, Thaleles will put everything from the camp back into his wagon. As a reminder, anything you feel you don't need on a spur of the moment type of situation, you are more than welcome to put it in the wagon. I myself only carry the essentials. Shall we continue on?
Toritaka
Looking at Thaleles, he stands and moves over to him. "What are you finding, Lord Thaleles...Are we ready to test it?" he sees so curious about what is going on.
Garr'ak the Toothy
What harms could some cards do to me? Garr'ak would think to himself. This could just be another prank.
And with that he was settled and started to draw a card. The number 3 would come to his mind when he questioned himself on how many he would draw.
First Draw: 1d25 ⇒ 4
Garr'ak the Toothy
Despite the sudden chill that fell over him, Garr'ak saw no physical sign that he had been harmed.
It must of been nerves, he would think to himself before pulling another card.
Second Draw: 1d25 ⇒ 10
Thaleles
|
Thaleles sees him drawing cards. What happenes here could be useful in identifying the deck later on, but he is not willing to wait and see what else can happen. He gets on his wagon and pulls forward some as the second card is drawn. Maintaining a good distance between them.
Tobaris
As Garr'ak pulls a final card emblazoned with the sun he feels a rush of power as never before. As he lowers his hand the card transfroms into small round black cloth, that feels as smooth as silk and can be folded out to a 6-foot diameter or down to a hankerchief.
Garr'ak gains 50'000 XP (hol crap) and a portable hole
Brennyn Varron
Brennyn's jaw drops as he witnesses the magic that takes place in front of him. Without doubt, this deck could greatly aid their battle in taking justice and civilisation to the Stolen Lands.
"I shall draw two cards," Brennyn says, and he reaches out to take the deck from Garr'ak (for those who haven't seen the Discussion thread, Garr'ak laughs and passes the deck on) and draws a card.
First draw: 1d25 ⇒ 25
Brennyn Varron
Okay, there are usually 22 cards in a Deck of Many Things so I am hoping that you have added stuff, otherwise my soul just got sucked into a far-off plane.
Brennyn Varron
Brennyn blinks in confusion.
"Uh," she says looking down at her new form. "What the..."
Well, that was unexpected.
In a sudden panic, Brennyn draws her second card.
Second card: 1d25 ⇒ 12
Tobaris
Tulsino Draws a card bearing a set of scales representing balance. A sense of energy and optimism fills him. Tulsino is now Chaotic Good, he shall not lose his anti-paladin powers but must now act according to his alignment or else gain a permanent negative level. Oh the irony.
Tobaris
As Brennyn pulls a card bearing the image of a proud knight. Which in a flash of light shoots out of 'her' hand and becomes an armored woman kneeling before Brennyn. Enjoy your 4th level fighter minion, I will build and run it.
Thaleles
|
And look! She comes with a wife! Didnt know she swung that way. His laughter is so out of control he actually does flip off the wagon. As I result, I shall let the DM roll for Damage and state non-lethal or lethal damage as punishment for my bad jokes.
Brennyn Varron
Brennyn narrows her eyes at Thaleles and almost makes a start to brain the wizard, before laughing as he falls from his own wagon.
Damn it, too quick! Also, the minion is a woman. :P
"Just call me Brennyn," she says to the newly appeared warrior. "What is your name?"
Just to tie it in with Brennyn, might want to flavour it towards Abadar somehow?
Thaleles
|
Thaleles calms his laughter after being address directly. Sniffling a laugh at the sight of Brennyn. I had told you to be careful if you were going to draw from that deck. I have no clue what that this is, let alone how to dispel any magic that comes from it. I am afraid to say, what you get is what you are stuck with until such time as I can properly Identify it.
It may be all well and good. But how many of your characters would actually draw cards from an unidentified, and possibly cursed deck of cards? Just stating why I not drawing.
Tobaris
Tulsino draws a card bearing the Sun and feels a surge of power similar but subtly different to Garr'aks. The card turns into a brilliant-cut black gem on a delicate silver chain meant to be worn about the neck. Tulsino gains 50,000 Xp and a periapt of proof against poison.
Toritaka
Taka waits his turn at the deck, excited by all the changes, his eyes dashing around as he watches his companions change so much. Especially the stick in mud Brennyn.
Jeremiah Whitewall
Jeremiah grins openly as the party goes through their varying changes, and upon Brennyn's transformation, outright laughs aloud. "I'm sorry mate, just finally got a story to beat the time with that halfling pyromaniac!" Managing to control his mirth enough to simply chuckle, he finishes gathering his belongings at a faster pace, so as not to miss any of the festivities. "That bint of a slip sure loved fire. Oh well."
