Johund falls through the darkness, plunging into water. Breaking the surface the weight of his armor and weapons drags him down, down into a bottomless well. As a stone, drifting ever deeper into the welcoming blackness of oblivion, he cannot help but smile.

Amadeen blinks.
Her white pupils begin to respond to her surroundings once more.
She utters:
"What happened to the darkness?"

A ten-foot-wide hallway leads east from this point, but beyond the

mass of pale mist that fills the entire hall.

Johund Struckland |

Johund's roused from his euphoria like a child pulled from bed. Muttering and rubbing his eyes, he follows the passage.
Pausing at the mist, he picks up a piece of debris and flings into the fog. "Is't magic?" he asks Eluvias and Amadeen.

Amadeen Irian |

"Once we're sure there's nothing else nearby ready to mess with our heads or skin us."

Amadeen Irian |

Amadeen picks up a pebble and tosses it at the middle of the water.

GM Kevin O'Rourke |

Amadeen's pebble bounces off the surface which then starts to move, as your lights shimmer off the surface you note a yellowish tint!

This strangely shaped room consists of two wings. To the east, a low workbench wraps around the walls. To the west, a larger wing opens into what appears to be a strange laboratory. A curving workbench covered with gory heaps of flesh and bone sits against the laboratory’s wall. In alcoves to the north and south are strange contraptions resembling iron cages fitted with human-sized openings.

Although this creatures shape might initially suggest an arthropod, especially with its long, insectlike limbs and diaphanous wings, you surmise the creature is in fact a highly evolved form of extraterrestrial fungus. With plant creatures like this you believe slashing weapons would work best.
You recognise this creature from tales only spoken of in hushed creatures, things from other worlds called Mi-Go by some. Though they have technology in advance of any race on Gollarion they need no vessel able to move between the stars under their own power, the cold of the void or of any other kind will not harm them.
