Dude, that's awesome!!
Any chance your [you're] looking for help? I am sectacular [spectacular] at proofreading and also have several concepts and ideas in mind that would lend themselves to your line.
Sorry, I couldn't resist. : P
But to answer your question in all seriousness:
As for proofreading, I actually have several pairs of eyes on every product, and I have a ton of proofreading and editing experience, myself. As you can see from my tagline, I even have levels in grammar nazi.
The subject of authors, concepts, and content is another story (sort of). I'm not doing all the writing myself - but for those products that I do not concept, design, and write, I'll be editing. Heavily editing, more likely than not, and here's why:
I'll be taking the quality of my products very seriously, and I'll be striving for complete-and-total compatibility. That means that my content needs to use formatting, language, tone, trends, styles, power-level benchmarks, and design-goals-as-I-understand-them that match or closely resemble those of Paizo's Pathfinder Roleplaying Game products.
What I'm saying is that I intend to be something of an elitist when it comes to accepting outside help in the form of concepting and/or design and writing. What I do accept I'll likely be editing heavily to match the standards-as-I-see-them that I've described, above. That said, I do understand that there is a wealth of talent equal to or in excess of my own - despite a literal lifetime of practice - here on the forums... and those talents should probably be put to use for their own profits.
You see, Abandoned Arts is not - as I mentioned - incorporated or an LLC. It's effectively an assumed name under which I will be standard-copyrighting and privately publishing content. That means all my costs are out-of-pocket and my expected profits are zero. If I pay anything for another author's material, it'll be peanuts. Probably the price of the product ($0.99 - $1.99 per product), just so I break even if all I sell is one item. At least until I get a better idea as to how much money I can expect any one product to make. I'd also need documentation from the author that I have permission to copyright and use the content, and that the author would have no claim to said content hereafter.
Having said all that: if someone met my very high standards of quality (and such someones do exist), was willing to give me permission to copyright, own, and use their content, AND was willing to sell it to me for peanuts - all just to get his or her name out there and be a part of the industry, well... I guess I'd be a fool to turn down the material.

Yea, sorry about that, was typing from my cell, and quickly for some reason.
I'm well aware of the risks involved in small market publishing so to speak, being not only a gamer but also a comic book collector. Both lend themselves to little guys either failing or succeeding on a massive scale.
That said, it makes no sense to start soliciting outside help until you see how your own first couple products do. Or should I say, outside help from people you aren't friends or co workers with.
So I wish you the best of luck, regardless of if I ever help ya or not. If you end up helping make our hobby better, we all win in the end.

Thanks again. If you do check us out, definately come tell me what you think.
If you like it (or if you'd like to criticize it!), consdider writing a review or contributing to the product discussion threads. The biggest challenge we will face is going to be getting noticed on a nonexistant budget. The PDFs are a good value ($0.99 for 2 pages of crunch - literally the minimum price that Paizo would let me sell them for), so if you want to see more... spread the word a little.

Ormak Kron |

He posted on tuesday, I'm guessing he is kinda like me. We posted we're doing out part to make the fire go out, but it seems like the focus right now has all be on Nark. Not sure what else there is for us to say other than "we throw buckets of water on the fire" and "we continue to help put the fire out"....which gets boring real fast.

Ormak Kron |

Also, not saying it was bad that Nark got some spotlight, but the rest of us didn't have much to do beyond throw water on the fire.
Last time you split us was perfect. Flame and I got some great interaction with the Orc while the others seemingly had a good time with that card game and meeting the other adventurers.
If something happend while fire fighting, even if it was just interaction with other townsfolk, it would be much better and I for one would post more.

Yeah, it's hard to plan for Nark! Sorry about that. : D
I'd expected it to take less time, but we had some minor rules hangups. No need to apologize for the "Nark PoV," though. The spotlight can't shine on everyone all the time. Everyone gets a turn, sooner or later, and Nark hasn't had much of a "Nark-centric" scene yet.
By the way: if anyone has checked out Abandoned Arts PDF line, I'm dying to know what you think. Professionally, I can't beg for feedback in the Product Discussions thread, but I sure can at my own table!
(No one is under any obligation to buy my stuff, of course! I'm just curious about what you thought if you did. Actually, if anyone wants a freebie, I'll hook you up. Name one of the PDFs and I'll get you a copy. The catch? You have to write a quick, honest review on the reviews page.)

Aside from Abandoned Arts products, third-party stuff (and even AP and non PFRPGCore) material is off the table. I make the exception for my own product simply because there's no such thing as too much playtesting.
I'll e-mail Liz to get you a copy of Class Acts: Rogues ASAP.

Just giving you a heads-up that at the end of this month (July 31), I'll be leaving town for two weeks for work. I don't know the status of an available internet connection while I'll be gone, or how much free time I'll have, but I'll post as able.
After that, I'll only be back for a day before heading to Gencon afterwards, getting back home late the 19th. So between those two dates I'll be sporadic at best, possibly unavailable. Sorry for any inconveniences this may impose.

Nark Snarky |

Aaah, sorry for all!
The workload has been really tiring lately. Got a small part-time job but its draining energy out of me. Been literally dead tired so far. Got some free time to squeeze some words here and there. Apologizing since was quite a surprise for me too

So... I'm thinking about starting a Shattered Star PbP when the AP releases next month. Rather than do an open recruitment, I'm just going to try to build a group out of the players I'm already playing with. So if anyone in this thread is interested, send me a PM and we can discuss the details.

Flametouched |

Hopping over here to continue the discussion in a more suitable place...
For my part, Flametouched thinks Lothar's suggestion - that we look for a way to take off tomorrow - is the better plan, although it would probably want to at last wait to hear what Karbal's going to ask them to do before making a final decision. So that is where my vote is.
As for slowing down, I think the rather thorough party-splitting and the forced switch to a really reactive mode threw the game's rhythm off - changing up to something more linear, or at least more straightforward (a la, combat because we know how to handle that) might get things back on track.

Nark Snarky |

Well, to discuss things here and get rolls going on I would say that I do agree a bit with Lothar suggestion of leaving in a middle of day light : They would not suspect anything like that at all and might even lower their guards.
Nark is really easy to persuade onto things if needed so no need to worry about that. Direct fighting... I would say that we have a huge problem there so stealthier method is more appropriate here. What about supplies for venturing then since that would be problem. I could at least manage some food with survival skills (remember... goblin so can pretty much eat anything but for others to be edible, well, you are welcome to my dinner table) + able to conjure water for us

Xzot |

In regards to my spotty posting, as I had stated earlier I'm currently on a work trip since the 31st. It's actually taking alot more time than I thought, so not having as much free time to post. I\ve been trying to get a post in here and there but just don't have the time at present. I do have tomorrow and Tuesday off though so will get posts in the next two days. After that I'll be working until the 13th, which is mostly a travel day. The 14th I have off again which means I can maintain posting then, but after I'll be at Gencon and doubt I'll have any time to post. Sorry for this inconvenience.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As far as plans go, Xzot's fine with waiting until tomorrow. It doesn't like it at all, but Xzot won't try to go it alone, especially after our initial fight from the crash.
For much the same reason, my posting speed is likely to slow down immensely over the next 6 days or so, although I plan to try to make at least one post in my PbPs each day when I stumble back to my hotel. If I am slow, though, feel free to take Flametouched (or Kamlann's, or Nicoleta's) actions.
I just want to brag to my PbPs... Abandoned Arts totally got a little mention on the Store Blog today. I'm on the font page of paizo.com, and I've only been at this in a professional capacity for a month and a half. And I've been featured in the Paizo newsletter at least three times recently, and three of my products occupied three (low-ish) spots on the "top 10 downloads from other companies" list last week. How cool is that?
I'm stoked. Hey; does anybody want a free PDF? Send me a PM and let me know which one you want, and I'll ask Liz to hook you up. If you can't hook up your gaming table with free stuff, what's the point of authoring for a third party production company, right?
